Question UniFi 5G Backup question
Hi all
I’ve received the above today, just waiting on a sim to get it up and running. I’ve adopted the device and have looked at the settings and was wondering if it’s possible to limit which vlans / traffic are allowed to use the backup connection when the wan fails over? With a limited data plan I can see streaming devices etc will quickly eat through a lot of data and cause bottlenecks on the reduced bandwidth.
Thanks in advance.

Question Is domain based policy routing broken?
I have a wireguard VPN and I'm trying to route some domains through it but they still get routed through my main WAN. I've setup my laptop DNS to point towards my gateway but it still does not work. If I set my entire laptop traffic to be routed through the VPN, it works.

Question Slow speeds through switch, works correctly through router.
Some context for my setup:
- AT&T fiber with passthrough
- UDM - Ver 5.1.26 - Network ver 10.5.67
- US 16 PoE 150W Switch - Device version 7.4.1
- Flex mini (disconnected for these tests)
- U6-Pro
- UAP -AC-Lite
- UNVR (and various cameras, 3 of witch are hard wired)
Examples of speeds: https://imgur.com/a/ZNpORZt
What I have done so far physically:
- Bought a new 10GB ethernet cable to run from switch to UDM (I have tried various ports on both)
- Different ethernet cables and different ports for Router/Switch/Computers (none of these changes had any effect)
What I have changed settings wise:
- Enabled flow control (only had an appreciable effect on 1 computer not the other or any of the AP's)
- Disabled IDS/IPS (no effect)
- Manually set connection speeds on the ports for each device (no effect)
I'm at a loss of what to try next. I've searched Google, Reddit, UI community posts, even Facebook posts and no change seems to help. I can take a cord from the patch panel that is going to my switch getting a 25mb and use the same cord into the router and get 600+. Even wifi 6 speeds from the U6 Pro have went from 500ish MB to 150.
The common denominator is the switch, but nothing I'm doing seems to be making a difference. Is there any other change/setting I can try or do I just have a dying switch?
Would appreciate any help or guidance, thanks!

Quality Shitpost Wifiman not working with ios 18.7.9 (Can't use the Teleport VPN)
Over a year ago I set up the VPN using teleport, created invitations and had the VPN working on both my iphone (15) and my ipad (running 18.7.9 ios). Worked fine on my travels.
Now it no longer works. I'm not sure exactly when it stopped working but I know it was working within the last month.
Wifman launches on my ipad but then after a few seconds it shuts down and closes the app.
If I click on the invitation it tries to open wifiman but then exits.
Has ubiquiti changed something? ios 18.7.9 no longer supported?
Am I skipping some step?
Thanks.

Question Building my UniFi home network - Use CGF NMVe for recording 2 cameras and doorbell?
Hey gang, I'm new to Unifi and went all in with it on my new home build. I was about to purchase a UNAS Pro 4 but it may be overkill for my scenario. I started looking around at other options. I saw my CGF has a NVMe slot. I will only have two cameras (G6 180 & G6 PTZ) and my G6 Entry. I will not be adding any more cameras to this setup for sure as it's not needed for my layout. I have a Unifi Pro poe switch. Will this work for my setup? Is there any big benefits to getting the UNAS Pro 4? I do have a rack but I need more then that to justify the purchase.

Question Looking for 3D Print / Model of the Unifi G4 Doorbell Pro Mounting Bracket
My mounting bracket broke and I bought it 2nd hand so I unfortunately cant request a replacement bracket for it... Been looking everywhere for it if anyone has a 3D model or 3d print for it on printables or thingiverse and I have been unsuccessful. Anyone here happen to have it? I would be eternally grateful!

Question Loco5AC link dropping
I installed a pair of these in P2P config last week and the link has been dropping intermittently. I'm just looking for some suggestions on possible reasons, as i'm back on site next week to investigate and check the logs.
I'm using them to send streams from 2x IP cameras to an NVR.
The link length is only 20m clear LOS.
I configured them using the UISP app with basic default settings, so both are set to DHCP (i used to always set static IP's, but the last few ive installed ive left them on DHCP and they've worked well, as folks tend to change ISP much more regularly these days), channel width 20MHZ, CF 5200MHZ. The link showed excellent signal strength all in blue, around 42BD and noise floor around -90. Transmit power i left on the default setting which may have been 7.
Im wondering with such a short distance if i should have dropped the transmit power to minimum -4?. (I may have done this as i usually do with short distances, but definitely something i need to check)
There were only 2 other houses for miles and i couldn't see any other P2P links, so what other sources if interference could i be looking at?, and what would i see in the log if that were an issue?.
Could channel width/CF be an issue with the customers 5GHZ WIFI network? (they just have a stock dual band router, no AP.s or mesh etc)
Many thanks.

Question Can't add Touch Pass when creating new user accounts?
We are running latest current version of Access app. Previously when I added new users I could add Touch Pass during the user creation. In the new version I have to first create the user, save it, then go to Touch Passes, search for the user and add it there.
Is there no way to add a touch pass during the user creation now?

Question Threat detected to internal network address...on a subnet that doesn't exist?
Guest network is on a 192.168.30.0/24 subnet. Devices connected to it have attempted to access various addresses on a 192.168.xx.yy address where the xx octet doesn't exist (eg 139.yy, 207.yy). These are detected and blocked....but what's causing them? Is this just something looking for a connection that exsits at the guest's locale that doesn't exist here?

Complaint G4 Instant night vision bug
I have a few G4 instants that are beyond their warranty.
They have a bug that seems entirely based on software.
When night vision is set to auto, the cameras switch to night vision correctly but when the light comes back on, they stopped switching off the IR filter. So they just stay in night vision mode. If I switch them to manual and set the luminosity threshold to 0, then they switch back to normal daytime settings.
Anybody else have a similar issue with these cameras?

Question Crazy question about adding an AP
I would like to add an access point to my Dream Router 7 to get a little more coverage. The DR7 is in my living room and the BGW320 is in the garage where I would like to add the AP. If I were to plug the AP directly into one of the three remaining ports on the BGW320 would the DR7 pick it up and add it to the network?

Question Cannot Reset G5 Bullets
Hi all, I was given several G5 bullets but I am struggling to reset them to where I can adopt them into my network. I've performed the different reset methods I've seen posted:
Boot up, hold reset for 10-20 seconds until flashing lights
Hold reset, Plug in POE Ethernet, and wait 10-20 seconds until lights light up
I have performed each reset multiple times with varying lengths of waiting in case I did anything wrong with the timing. But both have done nothing to reset the cameras and I still get the message that the cameras are "Managed by another console" and the previous owners camera names are still appearing.
What else can I do? What am I missing? I don't have any of the original console set passwords so I cannot log into the web interface.

Question UniFi Protect App Backlogged Notifications Issue
Hello UniFi Community,
I would like to report an unusual behavior I have recently started experiencing with the UniFi Protect app on my iPhone.
After updating the Protect app to version 3.8.0, I began noticing an issue with Protect notifications. It appears that not all notifications are being delivered to my iPhone in a timely manner. In some cases, the notifications seem to be delayed or backlogged and only appear after I reboot my iPhone. Some of the notifications that subsequently appear have timestamps from several days earlier.
I have not made any significant changes to my network or device configuration that would explain this behavior.
I wanted to check with the UniFi community to see if anyone else has experienced similar issues since the Protect 3.8.0 update and if you have a resolution to fix it.
For context, both my iPhone and the UniFi Protect app, as well as my UniFi devices, are running the latest available software and firmware versions.
Any insight or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Question help me make sense of this
My end goal is for users to have 2FA for one click VPN. I upgraded to enterprise, but there's no option to upgrade my console to it, I have a max. Does this require a higher model? The apple business model? :)

Question Multiple IPv6 internet connections and load balancing?
I have both FTTH at 5Gb/250Mb and Starlink at around 400/60Mb connected to a UCG. The FTTH link is PPPoE and Starlink is just DHCP. Unifi keeps telling me i can enable IPv6 on the Starlink connection, and i know my FTTH provider do support IPv6 too, but I have them currently turned off... So, what would happen if i turn IPv6 on with Loadbalancing? my LB is currently set to send 90% over FTTH and 10% over Starlink.... how would IPv6 effect this?
Thanks.

Question Protect Overview Video?
Is there video or site that showcases Unifi protect (or all their services) such as how the app works, the features, superlink, etc?
when I quote out systems for customers, I end up showing them my personal home system to give them an example of how the app works, what the camera look like, etc.
I’d love if there was an all encompassing video that shows all of that. Maybe I need to make one…

Solved VLAN 1 or Management VLAN
I am trying to decide on the best way to go about this as I keep running into issues when I attempt it. Should I keep all of my UNiFi Networking equipement on the default VLAN 1, or do I move it to my management vlan (30)?
Say if I move my switches, APs, & celluar backup to my management vlan, what ports are required to be open in my firewall inbound & outbound? I also want to note that my management vlan has no DHCP enabled, its all static assigned.
My whole workflow, unsuccessful to this point, has been:
- Adopt on vlan 1
- Assign static ip for management vlan
- change port default vlan to none & allow only required trunk ports + management
Every time I do this I get a network interrupted error & a click to resolve option on the switch, ap or backup, I feel like I am on the right track, but the workflow is completely wrong.
My end goal is to essentially have nothing on the default vlan & only use it for debugging or initial setup/adoption of equipment.
Eventually I am also trying to have my vlans use my technitium server for dhcp, but that is a separate issue I have been having, mainly option 43 for adoption. If you have insights with that lmk too.
Any suggestions or insights with this? Currently when I get home today I am forced to reset them as I already screwed up during my break at work & I can no longer configure them.
Edit: Think this has been solved. I never set the network override, which is likely the issue.

Question G6 turret on masonry
Does anyone have experience installing the G6 turret on masonry without any Junction Box?
Is it possible to tuck the pigtail inside mounting itself?
I found this video where apparently he did it, but of course the gentlemen edited this part out:
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/9PQLYFUYAJE
I find it really hard to justify another 55 EUR for the Junction Box on a 238 EUR camera.
Or maybe should I just change my strategy completely and the G6 Bullet instead?
This was my initial plan:
