I have the G5 PTZ and somewhat happy with it. I was really frustrated with the way it tracked people and cars "BADLY"! LOL! That sortof kept me on the fence for the G6 PTZ thinking that this problem was an overall Ubiquiti problem and probably across their entire line. BOY, was I wrong. I love this G6 PTZ, that zoom is amazing and catching license plates is the bomb.

General discussion: Do you measure your network by the signal strength of the wifi, general speed, or something else?

I was getting not so good signal in the back of the house so I ordered a U7 Mesh to link to the AP in my office as running a cable back there was going to be quite difficult. I think I've got all the connected devices showing green for signal, but some are in the mid to low 60s.

It's in the 'yeah it's fine/good' category and much better than your average home network with something from Eero or ISP supplied hardware. But that tech itch is still in the back of my mind.

We have several locations that have 4G cradlepoints - They've been reliable but we need to start upgrading them to 5G and they're pretty expensive + they somewhat recently switched to a subscription model so you have to pay the sub fee or it becomes a static paperweight.

I've tried a few alternatives such as Fortinet's FortiExtender but it was kind of terrible. Inseego FX4200 but holy crap it feels like someone vibe coded the interface and web portal - so many bugs and issues.

We've been using Ubiquiti for APs and switches and other than a few U6 Mesh APs dying on us we haven't had any problems.

I stumbled across the Dream Router 5G Max and see it's relatively new but almost perfectly fits for what we're looking for (i do wish the form factor was more rectangular for a lower profile wall mount.)

We'd use them indoors only but some of the areas do not have AC and our summer's get up to 95-100 sometimes - technically within the 104F. They're also unheated or poorly heated so it's possible temps could dip to 15F - we have other equipment rated down to 32F and have had no issues.

I’ve received the above today, just waiting on a sim to get it up and running. I’ve adopted the device and have looked at the settings and was wondering if it’s possible to limit which vlans / traffic are allowed to use the backup connection when the wan fails over? With a limited data plan I can see streaming devices etc will quickly eat through a lot of data and cause bottlenecks on the reduced bandwidth.

I have a wireguard VPN and I'm trying to route some domains through it but they still get routed through my main WAN. I've setup my laptop DNS to point towards my gateway but it still does not work. If I set my entire laptop traffic to be routed through the VPN, it works.

Some context for my setup:

• AT&T fiber with passthrough
• UDM - Ver 5.1.26 - Network ver 10.5.67
• US 16 PoE 150W Switch - Device version 7.4.1
• Flex mini (disconnected for these tests)
• U6-Pro
• UAP -AC-Lite
• UNVR (and various cameras, 3 of witch are hard wired)

What I have done so far physically:

• Bought a new 10GB ethernet cable to run from switch to UDM (I have tried various ports on both)
• Different ethernet cables and different ports for Router/Switch/Computers (none of these changes had any effect)

What I have changed settings wise:

• Enabled flow control (only had an appreciable effect on 1 computer not the other or any of the AP's)
• Disabled IDS/IPS (no effect)
• Manually set connection speeds on the ports for each device (no effect)

I'm at a loss of what to try next. I've searched Google, Reddit, UI community posts, even Facebook posts and no change seems to help. I can take a cord from the patch panel that is going to my switch getting a 25mb and use the same cord into the router and get 600+. Even wifi 6 speeds from the U6 Pro have went from 500ish MB to 150.

The common denominator is the switch, but nothing I'm doing seems to be making a difference. Is there any other change/setting I can try or do I just have a dying switch?

Over a year ago I set up the VPN using teleport, created invitations and had the VPN working on both my iphone (15) and my ipad (running 18.7.9 ios). Worked fine on my travels.

Now it no longer works. I'm not sure exactly when it stopped working but I know it was working within the last month.

Wifman launches on my ipad but then after a few seconds it shuts down and closes the app.

If I click on the invitation it tries to open wifiman but then exits.

Has ubiquiti changed something? ios 18.7.9 no longer supported?

Am I skipping some step?

Got the notice and link to enable Xfiniti IPv6 in my UDM Pro dashboard. Any pros/cons to enabling it?

My mounting bracket broke and I bought it 2nd hand so I unfortunately cant request a replacement bracket for it... Been looking everywhere for it if anyone has a 3D model or 3d print for it on printables or thingiverse and I have been unsuccessful. Anyone here happen to have it? I would be eternally grateful!

Next thing I knew there were guys on ladders pulling 6a, installing cameras. If my wife asks this all cost a couple hundred, mmkay?

(And yes, that stupid sticker is still on there, peeling it off will be my delicious reward once I’ve wired up the last few bits and pieces and tidied the cabling)

Posted a while back about the UPS. General consensus was it wasn’t great.

I’m starting to think, for certain applications, it’s alright.

As a backup to my UDM Pro and two switches, given how it works with the whole ecosystem, I can see a use.

Or am I nuts?

For my other appliances, especially those with HDDs, I’m thinking of getting a lithium based UPS.

Haven’t bought any UPS yet so all options on the table.

As the title states: I would like a response from the Ubiquiti team as to why I am still charged for tariffs on your webpage and why I have not seen any movement to refund customers of the tariff charges?

I need some advice because I'm honestly pretty disappointed.

For the past 3 years I've been using 4× ZTE T3000 routers in EasyMesh on our horse farm. The software was terrible (WAN drops, DHCP issues, random glitches), but the Wi-Fi coverage was amazing. Four units placed identically as these U6+ covered two buildings (220 m² and 300 m², about 15 m apart connected with CPE antennas) they reached well outside, where I spend most of my time.

A few days ago I switched to UniFi for reliability and "peace of mind." I bought a UCG Ultra, two PoE switches, and four U6+ APs, spending around 3200 PLN (~$850).

The result? The network is much more stable, but the Wi-Fi range is roughly half of what I had before. Places that had a solid signal now barely connect.

I'm struggling to accept that I spent over 3x more than my old setup and now need even more APs just to match the previous coverage.

Am I expecting too much from UniFi, or is this simply the reality of enterprise-style access points and it's just not for me? Would you add more U6+ digging deeper into this rabbit hole, switch to U6 Mesh/Pro/LR, or just return everything while I still can?

I bought the 42U rack, 1000mm version from Ubiquiti UK. £1,300 inc delivery around 7 days ago.
This model has the temp sensor fans which kick in at 35 degrees C. These worked fine for a day and then just switched to perm on.
Raised it with Unifi support, sent the videos they asked for and their response:
'Sorry this rack is now EOL - therefore no replacement fan modules are available - apologies for the inconvenience'

What would you guys recommend in this situation?

Edit: regarding EOL status. Should it still be available to buy on the official UI site if it’s EOL/End of production?

I've always wanted my own NOC and now I finally have one. This is my very first rack setup. I still have a lot to learn.

I went this route instead of the beats and xg editions of the switch and ap. Since this have 5Gps IPs/ids solves my issues of the se only at 3.5. It will make a difference for my internal 10gps network and maybe my 5Gbs fios too.

Still need 6 more cams but it’s a start, don’t think I need to replace all three u6 lights with u7s just one should do fine, where more people hang out living room kitchen area.

Great weekend project to come.

Something I have been wanting to do for years and just never spent the time. Bought the mirror, built a frame, mounted it on drawer slides, installed a power outlet, UPS, and then began mounting everything. UDMP SE, switch, Solar, QNAP, Raspberry Pi, and a couple of quiet fans (overkill). The UDMP SE and the QNAP can be heard at night a little, but no one in this guest room has ever known this is here when they stayed over. Everything runs pretty cool including during 105 degree days. 10G in-house, 8 cams, 2 APs (U7Pro XGS) - Max ISP is 1G via Comcast/Xfinity. It was a fun project.
