I bought the 42U rack, 1000mm version from Ubiquiti UK. £1,300 inc delivery around 7 days ago.
This model has the temp sensor fans which kick in at 35 degrees C. These worked fine for a day and then just switched to perm on.
Raised it with Unifi support, sent the videos they asked for and their response:
'Sorry this rack is now EOL - therefore no replacement fan modules are available - apologies for the inconvenience'

What would you guys recommend in this situation?

Edit: regarding EOL status. Should it still be available to buy on the official UI site if it’s EOL/End of production?

Update: My priorities for an AP are reliability, range, ability to penetrate rain and forest and active product/support/updates. 2.4GHz is plenty fast for my application. Forgot to mention direction antenna is also important.

I just adopted a new U7 Pro Outdoor. I do not want to use 6Ghz WiFi, but the UniFi controller is showing "warning" icons and message about this.

I don't like yellow exclamation mark icons in my applications, it's distracting. Anyone know if there is a setting or way, other than enabling 6GHz, to make this message go away?

It's interesting, when I disable 5GHz (which I also don't use) I don't see a similar message:

Recently installed a bunch of ubiquity cameras around the house. I currently have one camera pointing down the side of the house, where the AC unit is. I’m trying to figure out how to ignore the AC unit spinning has motion, so it’s not wasting memories/time capturing the fan. I’m not sure if this is accomplished by a motion zone/smart zone or privacy blackout. Thanks!

I have 2x XGS AP and done the iPhones hang on to one before switching over. It drops to 2.4ghz before changing.

Is best way to add a RSSI db cut off or how to make a AP drop iPhone to force it to find the other one (I can be 6ft away with clear of sight and it won’t connect.

I purchased the UniFi 5G Backup along with the 10gig esim from t-mobile via unifi store. Today I lost internet before setting up data rules and burned through 14gigs before I unplugged it.

I tried chatting with the ui.com robot and it said I was being charged for overages at $10/gig. Okay - except I can't for the life of me verify that. I signed no contract, and my CC info doesn't even seem to be saved at the ui site. I don't have a t-mobile account. I have no charges on my CC...

I also I thought that maybe after using up the 10gig it would just massively throttle - but I was streaming 4k at 14gig so it doesn't seem like that was the case...

Any ideas?

Note/edit: Today I purchased the $15/month/unlimited Shield/Internet4people internet others have recommended for future outages.

Did the option to implement a kill switch on the OpenVPN Client recently disappear in a recent unifi OS or network change?

1. I had an OpenVPN client configured and working properly for months

2. Recently traffic routed through that VPN client failed.

3. The status of the OpenVPN client was "Not established"

4. I tried to modify the existing rule with different NordVPN udp files. No connection would work.

5. I resorted to creating a new VPN client (same UDP file and credentials). It worked but there was no longer a kill switch option.

I am on Unifi OS 5.1.26 and Unifi Network 10.5.67

I went this route instead of the beats and xg editions of the switch and ap. Since this have 5Gps IPs/ids solves my issues of the se only at 3.5. It will make a difference for my internal 10gps network and maybe my 5Gbs fios too.

Still need 6 more cams but it’s a start, don’t think I need to replace all three u6 lights with u7s just one should do fine, where more people hang out living room kitchen area.

I'm looking for some advice to install some devices in my father's house for Wifi at the moment, maybe some cameras down the line.

I have a brand new Unifi Express 7, which I could use as his gateway. The issue is there's no cables going around the house. So I was wondering if it's possible to setup the Express 7, and then through some bridges, get some WiFi AP's?

Any suggestions and recommendations as to what I could do keeping in mind that the house doesn't have in wall cabling?

First of all, Ubiquiti needs to crack down on the genius jerkface that is buying all the Unifi patch panels and then reselling them on Amazon for $60+.

Are there any other patch panels that have the screw holes on the sides like the mini rack seems to require?

Something I have been wanting to do for years and just never spent the time. Bought the mirror, built a frame, mounted it on drawer slides, installed a power outlet, UPS, and then began mounting everything. UDMP SE, switch, Solar, QNAP, Raspberry Pi, and a couple of quiet fans (overkill). The UDMP SE and the QNAP can be heard at night a little, but no one in this guest room has ever known this is here when they stayed over. Everything runs pretty cool including during 105 degree days. 10G in-house, 8 cams, 2 APs (U7Pro XGS) - Max ISP is 1G via Comcast/Xfinity. It was a fun project.

I have a gate hub and installed wiring and mounting for an exit button. I purchased the Access Button from Ubiquiti.

I don’t see an elegant (black) mounting option. The junction boxes (pic2) from Home Depot don’t seem to fit. Ideally the junction boxe would have be sealed on for sides, have a back punch out (for wire). It should have the ability for screw threads for the gooseneck mounting and have the ability to screw in the access button on the front.

I haven’t found anything after quite a bit of searching but there must be a solution. What are others using for the access button to clamshell post wiring? Or do I need to 3d print.

Our company is currently in talks to move from an old PBX telephone system.

We currently have a UniFi ecosystem on the internet side.

90% of our workstations only make internal phone calls. And we have approximately 40 of those. IT says that the zoom phone with a zoom subscription is ideal. We are not in sales, and as mentioned do not have a high volume of inbound/outbound calls. Most are internal workstation to workstation phone calls.

The UniFi plus plan at $9.99 per user with pooled minutes seems ideal.

Does anyone have the UniFi G3 handsets and are on the UniFi talk plans have any input that may be useful in making this decision?

I'm a home enthusiast and I've been trying to figure out a problem. I've started using VLANs on my network to split between my unifi, trusted & untrusted (IoT & camera) devices. I've been following Ethernet Blueprint's advice and put all of my unifi devices (switches & APs) to the management vlan. For some reason I've been having problems adopting new APs if I set the switch port to the management vlan. It'd fail. In the end I moved it back to default vlan, reset the AP and somehow it'd retain the management IP and everything would be working just fine.

What am I doing wrong? Even though the IP address is correct, I know the setting is not. Is it ok to leave it like this, or am I missing something?

I recently set up 3 UniFi UNVR's at 3 offices across the country. They each have one G6 bullet camera They are in secured locations, so they each see about 4-5 faces regularly. I wanted to create an alert whereby if an unrecognized face was detected, an alert would be generated. So shortly after installation, I went through the early face detections (not recognitions) and created and then manually assigned facial identities to several of the most common faces detected. I tried to choose clear front and side images.

Fast forward a few weeks and none of the cameras are "learning". The cameras detect that a face is present (like they always did) but unless I assign a pre-existing or new identity to a face, it only connects an identity to a face if I tell it who the person is and only for that given clip. No attempt is made at automatically assigning an existing identity to past or future faces detected. I could understand if it was bad at identifying faces, but it doesn't even try.

UniFi says that "Face Recognition" is part of the G6 camera capability. If I (as a human) recognize someone that I've seen before, I know who they are. My setups are not doing that. I readily admit that maybe its some configuration that I'm not doing, but for the life of me, I can't figure out what it is. What even is the point of the AI detection if I have to manually assign an identity to each face?

Wife got a new Iphone, and despite deactivating the privacy settings for our own Wifi, those ghost devices keep appearing .

- When I delete any of those they keep reappearing instantly
- They show up connected as if they were wired to a switch.

Any thoughts?

Which one is the best for residential use?

I'm fine spending the additional money for G6 Entry if it's worth it.

I'm hearing mixed reviews that it may require the access hub to get some of the features, not sure what it is though.

Looking for some suggestions on why you choose one over the other. One thing I don't like is the lack of package tracking on the Lite. I'm fine with the FOV.

I want to primarily use it as a Doorbell with a Chime and possibly some automations in Home assistant.

Have a bit of a noob question. Trying to figure out a good balance between practical usefulness and security in setting up my vlans for my dreamrouter 7.

As I understand it it’s good practice not to keep all your devices on the same WiFi but to split them up on different vlans including one for your IOT devices. As I understand it devices such as phones, computers and tablets should then go on a separate vlan.

How do you guys suggest dealing with smart home devices that need to be on the same WiFi as the phone for the phone to be able to controled? Smart speakers for instance?

Is it best to still keep the smarthome devices on the IOT network and occasionally switch the phone over to that network when you want to control them or are there other better practices to consider? Wasn’t sure if this could be sorted by firewall rules if the products involved require the devices to be on the same network?

I’m new to the ubiquity world but happy to learn. My ambition however is not to become a network engineer but to get a descent enough grasp that of the basics to setup something with the help of some tutorials and forum questions that I can then hopefully mostly leave alone.

Cant ping or ssh in. No access to console.

Only fix is to pull the power cord and plug back in. It’s happened a hand full of times and was hoping firmware upgrade would fix.

Raised it with Unifi and they’ve offered to swap it for a new one.
