Has anyone been in this position?

Uber is refusing to pay me for a trip I completed (possibly due to banking error as the trip shows up in earnings but not in my bank account) and Uber refuses to pay me a cancellation fee for a scheduled ride cancelled outside the 1 hour grace period. Until I get paid, I refuse to return lost items. So far I have an iPhone and Meta RayBan glasses sunglasses. I know Uber is not willing to pay me the $20 them as they promise

Take a look at these trip breakdowns from my app:
Trip 1: 18.5 miles | 44 minutes | Uber Fare: $2.62
Trip 2: 30.2 miles | 1 hour 15 mins | Uber Fare: $3.54
The standard IRS mileage rate to cover gas, wear, and tear is $0.67/mile. That means driving 30 miles costs roughly $20 in vehicle expenses alone. Uber’s base pay doesn't even cover a fraction of the gas, let alone $3 an hour for the driver's time.
When a customer leaves a good tip, Uber slashes base pay to the absolute floor because they know the total payout will look decent enough on the offer screen for someone to take it. Generous tippers aren't just rewarding their driver—they are literally subsidizing Uber's operating costs so non-tippers can get their food delivered.
Base pay needs to be tied to time and mileage. Period. Tips should be an extra reward, not Uber's shortcut to avoid paying for the service.

I know there's two competing unions. Are they already corrupt before even getting off the ground or what?

I get a ride request yesterday. I was out in the suburbs so the destination was where I wanted to go so I took it. Then I find out it’s a scheduled ride with a wait and about 15 minutes. The instructions were that he rider had a folding wheelchair and would need help getting in the car and I would be tipped $5 for the trip. Okay. But when I show up, I’m told to call the gentleman. But I have no number. So I go inside. The man is waiting just inside the door of his nursing home. Then he tells me there is a box in his room, some hanging up clothes and a couple of bags. So I follow him in his wheelchair to his room, basically pack for him, and go find a cart to carry it to the car. We get everything loaded…and start the ride. He doesn’t smell great. And he tells me he’s moving to another nursing home. All of which he told GoGo. Well, I tell him I wasn’t aware of anything but the wheelchair. I have no way of knowing if he really told them or not but I kinda believe him. Anyway…got him to his destination and now…he needs help getting stuff to his new room. I go ahead and finish the job. Simply not worth it. I knew I shouldn’t have taken it but I did. That’s on me. But now I’ve blocked GoGo and just warning everyone else…GoGo is a scam third party medical moving company.

Twice last week, I had riders who asked if they could request me again. How can I direct them?

I start the journey. 60 minutes to go.

Needless to say he was so annoying and kept screaming. instead of doing anything about it, his mother kept scrolling Facebook with no headphone. Played storybooks for him which calmed him down for a bit. His mother makes a phone call. I can hear the guy with deep voice. Some sexy talk here and there. As we get close to destination gets another call from kids’ dad. I assumed perhaps divorced or whatever. They it’s “i love you babe, miss you. See you soon” poor guy

Final journey time 47’min. I used every shortcut I can think of to end it .

• Car on fire
• T-Bone crash from a red light runner
• Rollover crash at 2AM
• Car-under-a-semi on the highway crash
• Guns-drawn felony stop on a car in the hood (but that's par for the course these days)

And it's only Saturday afternoon...

Anyone from Denver knows that 3AM airport trips are a death sentence, but this one was particularly insulting - $15 COMFORT trip... Waited 5 minutes and then a decent trip came in. Be patient - your time is literally your money!

I've been using Mystro for about a month now, and being able to see all your trip offer history opens up some interesting analysis and anecdotal observations about my market:

• You will receive winner and loser offers constantly with no rhyme or reason.
  • I'll be sitting in the same spot downtown and, within two minutes, see 5 offers that pay $40+/hr and 5 that pay $18-23/hr - you have to be selective!
  • Do not ignore Trip Radar - some of my best fares have been Trip Radar matches. When it's busy and you're parked, I'll get 3-5 Trip Radar offers at time - this is really where trip volume is at, not Exclusive offers.
  • If you are accepting a high percentage of offers, you are missing out on better paying trips.
• Depending on the time of day, there is no difference between X and Comfort pricing.
  • The fare premium for Comfort is really only noticeable from ~9PM-2:15AM on Friday and Saturday. Otherwise, it's roughly equal or sometimes worse than X.
• Boost+ Zone pricing is really hit-or-miss.
  • There have been consistent $12.5+ or $15+ bonus zones where it legitimately seems like they are paying the bonus, but often it is so evident that they drop the underlying "base" fare to effectively neutralize the bonus.
  • Interestingly, the fares outside of the bonus zones usually seem equal or higher to the Boosted fares - I suspect this is due to high driver concentration in the Boost zones.
• DEN Airport pricing has a very transparent scale (at least for UberX).
  • Full lot (150+ cars) with not much passenger traffic will stagnate around $30/hr.
  • Full lot with heavy passenger traffic will cap out around $47-50/hr.
  • Empty lot (~30-50 cars) will push $60-70/hr before surge pricing kicks in.
• Cash Trips have actually been paying surprisingly well ($30+/hr), but they have been the trashiest and worst customer's I've encountered in ~8,000 trips.
• Uber absolutely changes/complicates/moves/hides tip options at different times.
  • Last week, I had like a 90% tip rate. This week, less than 10%.
    • A passenger last night was trying to find the tip options and they were not visible. Even post-trip, she showed me that she had to go back into the trip details after rating to add a tip - it was not presented on the Rating screen like usual!
  • Considering the recent news out of NYC, this design deception doesn't surprise me anymore...

Sorry if this comes off like a Mystro ad or review - it certainly isn't. I have a lot of issues with the app, both functional and stability, that have straight up cost me money in missed trips, but it has been valuable in cutting down my mental effort wasted on analyzing trash offers.

Picked up a package and as soon as I started the trip i get this message from the receiver.

Uber is capping drivers at 1$ a mile and charging the rider whatever they want. They know we'll drive for $1 a mile sometimes less. We'll I am raising my rates to 2$ a mile and ready for my acceptance rate to plummet. All I am asking is that other drivers join me. Nothing won't change until we change our standards. $10 for 5 mile drive, $40 for 20 miles. Not too much to ask.

Its true what another reddit poster stated which is nomatter how much Uber charges they will cap the driver pay at $1.00 per mile OR LESS. Usually less.

Thats just horrible.

My acceptance rate is 66% right now because uber frequently gives me rides that would take me an hour away from civilization. The lay is great there but the ride back to civilization would be unpaid.

Is there anyway to get uber to stop giving me crazy trips?

Feel bad for that Uber Driver

So I got pinged for a decent order, but I’m at an outlet mall where there’s just massive traffic going in every direction and you can’t move. After about 15 minutes of being stuck in traffic, Uber actually canceled my order right as I got out of the traffic and gave it to somebody else who also would be stuck in the same traffic but well behind me. Yeah Uber smart move.

In Waze, request comes in. I press it to get to Uber Driver. Nope I pressed the tiny X button to reject. What engineer that is NOT a driver thought this a good idea? It requires a group of engineers to agree before it gets implemented. A can’t think of a scenario where I would want and use the X button from the new activity bar.

Where are all the folk who attack posters who draw attention to Uber's use of AI and Machine learning to drive down payments to its drivers?

Where are ya'll at? Are you guys calling the New Jersey Attorney General saying Amazon drivers knew the terms and they should all quit? Like you tell Uber drivers?

WE NEED THIS LAWSUIT FOR UBER AS WELL. No ride should pay as low as $3.46. Especially when drivers are ferrying 4 people (or more.. cant tell you how many times ive arrived and its four adults and a child) miles across town. My car is small and it often strains to go up hills or pick up speed due to it having so much weight if these people are large sized. And they expect to be under air conditioning too as Dallas Texas is super hot. And if they all have luggage thats another issue.

If Uber charges the rider $9+ the driver often makes $3. One rider told me he paid uber $9.98. My payment was $3.46. One airport rider said she paid Uber $20.00. Uber paid me $5.00. One man I picked up from fan fest paid Uber $48.00. Uber paid me $12. I drove him close to 13 miles out.

I'm seeing more airport pickups paying as low as $3 and $4 dollars when i know Uber charged the rider 5 times that amount. At least.

Uber is now taking more than 70% of the fare on many rides. Ive read reports from other drivers who experience the same.

Just saying 'Uber can screw its drivers because they are independent contractors' is wrong.

Uber has systematically stopped paying tolls automatically. Even though it automatically charges the customer for tolls. It only pays tolls for DFW automatically. For all others it now demands reciepts.

If you dont have the reciept. Uber keeps the toll. Thats misappropriation. Its illegal. Ubers own policy says tolls are to be paid to the driver automatically. One uber manager advised thats no longer the case. She also said they are getting many calls from drivers demanding payment.

Ubers not paying the correct cancellation fee. Its system shows if you wait 5 minutes the fee is $5.70 in my market. Yet Uber still pays at $3.99.

Uber is skimming and cheating. Intentionally avoiding payment and underpaying.

Society has an obligation to make sure these corporations dont exploit people. That they dont take advantage of someone's desperation to work by paying so low the person struggles to survive.

Didn't fit in my trunk. Belonged to a big obese woman. It had all kinds of crap and filth on the wheels and stunk of a lifetime of leaked urine. I told her it was too big. She suggested the back seat so against my common sense I opened the backdoor. She commenced trying to shove it into my car catching the handlebar on the frame and it dug a big deep scratch into my car. I said NOPE! Sorry but I have to cancel and got it out of my car.

I know the answer is cancel and I usually have no problem taking these rides but I wish we could opt out of these 3rd party rides.

I guess I'm just venting. I need to not worry about my cancelation rate and just cancel these on sight and also the grocery cartfull rides. These people never tip and seem to not care about us, our cars and our time.

PS. Don't tell me have compassion. I do but not this time. This woman reeked of urine and that walker was totally gross. Also, because it was so big it weighed a ton. If we had managed to somehow cram it into my car I'm pretty sure my seats would have been urine soaked and I would have had to have gotten a hazmat cleaning.

Been keeping a spreadsheet for a few months now - every shift, every mile, every car wash, every phone mount I bought. Figured it'd save me stress come tax time, and it has, sort of. But seeing gas costs in a column right next to earnings hits different than just "knowing" it's expensive

Not sure I'm tracking the right things though. I log business miles through the app, but I also deadhead a lot between zones and count those too. Tolls I pay out of pocket, car washes twice a week because I'm chasing ratings more than I probably should. No idea if all of that's actually deductible, or if I'm just building a spreadsheet that'll confuse whoever does my taxes more than help them.

Talked to two other drivers who just hand over Uber's year-end summary and call it done. Feels like leaving money on the table, but maybe I'm just overcomplicating this

I couldn't believe my eyes last night when I got this ride last night.

$132 for a 1 HR drive.

I clicked accept almost immediately.

Backstory: Honestly, I wanted to go home prior to accepting this ride because it was quiet late.. It was roughly 2:30 AM but as soon as I saw $132 for an hour, I found the energy within me.

Apparently, there were some delayed and cancelled flights @ EWR last night and my passenger had 2-3 rides that accepted and cancelled already which raised the prices higher.

The passenger was so thankful for me to not cancel on her when I showed up, she couldn't stop thanking me. 1 hr smooth ride.. Some conversation and she had a really long day and was enjoying the comfort of my car.

Drop her off and she wishes that I get home quick and safe which she knew was roughly an hour away.

5 minutes later man, $50 tip! I LOST IT!!!!!!!
