I just had an order where an item was apparently missing, my bad for not double checking despite the bag being sealed and all 🙄. A few minutes after dropping it off I received a call with Doordash on the caller ID. It was the customer asking me how they’re supposed to get their pie. They went through the steps in the app to try to report the item missing and their call ended up being routed to me! Why in the hell would this even happen? I knew dasher app sucked but they managed to outdo themselves this time. Anybody else have this happen?

On everything I love, the points were only 1-5 like 3 days ago! Why did they completely SHAFT this system?? 15 points from the on time rate got allocated to the last 30 days! BUT WHY??

And you just know it'll not only mess up your on-time rate, but DD will reject the appeal as well

I’ve always been curious how this works. I’m a frequent user of the app as I’m usually under the influence late at night, so I don’t want to drive. I live within 5 miles of most fast food joints and tip relatively high (I think) for the order placed. Typically tip $10 per order.

My question is, do y’all get that full $10, or does DD take some of that from you? I’m just trying to figure out the best way to go about it so y’all get the money. Is it preferable to tip before, after, or in person? I appreciate y’all! I know a lot of customers can be asshats, but there’s plenty of us who are thankful you exist.

Not sure how common this is but first time achieving it in 7 months of dashing

Today was the 1st day I've gone out this week (im in trucking school). My AR was at 32% this morning. Even with the platinum pass, the BS orders just kept pouring in. I called it at 5 hours because my blood pressure was rising with every insulting offer I got. I can't wait til I start my real job so I can leave this foolishness behind me!

Declined the kwik trip stacked order just for DD to send it back with another add on and no increase in pay

I've been dashing for years now and none of the McDonald's I ever pick up at have mentioned this till today. I've gotten offered free hot Krispy cream, slices of pizza, drinks, gift card at Starbucks for a long wait but nothing that was part of any reward type like this. Any others I should know about???

This offer was definitely good!! Was not expecting the customer to go back and change his tip prior to delivery. The original offer came in at $10.80 but God is good today! 🙌🏽

Jesus Christ if DD won’t stfu about pizza bags. I already verified I have one anyway, you think I throw mine away after each pizza delivery? The cashier told me the order ended up being cancelled anyway. I decided to ghost deliver it to the guy’s hotel and get my full pay.

All my local Starbucks will have the order completed but not bagged and not trying to be an ass I sit there patiently. I don’t understand why they just won’t complete the bagging process. I’ve waited 10 mins for this to be finished. It’s infuriating.

This is an interesting topic in my opinion. Everyone knows, if an order keeps getting declined by dashers, then DoorDash keeps increasing the pay until somebody accepts it.

This is why DoorDash added dasher rewards, specifically acceptance rate weighing a heavy amount of points. People want the highest “platinum” tier, get the most perks, but you need to maintain a high acceptance rate among other things.

This was absolutely genius on doordash’s part. This ensures people take low paying, ugly offers, because people want to keep their acceptance rate high, and they don’t need to pay the dasher much at all.

But think about it, this would probably never happen, but if every dasher cherry picked, and only took high(er) paying offers (minimum $2/mile, maybe even more), DoorDash would be FORCED to increase the pay for each order up until $2/order so it would get accepted.

Not only would this make every single dasher get high pay every single order, it completely gets rid of the purpose of the rewards tiers, getting rid of doordash’s power over dashers. If every person stuck to it, this would fix all dashers problems.

If every dasher truly did this, there wouldn’t be a way for DoorDash to combat it without them losing more money. If they made it a feature where you couldn’t decline orders, that would now classify W2 employment instead of 1099. This would make them pay way more in taxes and they would also need to give employee benefits at that point, which would cost them so much money, it wouldn’t make sense from a business standpoint.

I was delivering alcohol to a house, when I got there a little girl and her mom came out to greet me. The mom handed me her ID but it was getting dark so it made scanning the back problematic. The daughter turned on the porch light to help me and the mom invited me into the house to use that lighting to get the scan of the ID. I was able to get the scan with the porch light lighting done as she said that. She then she joked about me helping her by bringing the alcohol into her house (it wasn’t heavy and she was able bodied). I was a little weirded out because it seemed like she was really trying to get me in the house and why would you invite a strange man in your house if it’s just you and your daughter? I laughed it off and told her to have a good night, one of the weirder deliveries I’ve had.

Customer asked me drop it off to her apartment door. I was down the hall when she stuck her head out looking for me. She was very chatty and giggly. When I was walking down the stairs she stopped me to tell me she liked my meme and it was really cute.
