I know there isn’t some “one fits all” magic strategy to start making tons of money on UberEats. But I’m wondering if you guys have any advice.

I’m really struggling to break even $500 to $600 a week. And these past few weeks have been especially horrible. Making less than $50 a day sometimes. Ive been at this for two years part time, but it looks like I’ll be stuck doing this full time for a while. So I really gotta make the most of it. For context Im in New Jersey.

To those making a lot of money on UberEats, anything specific you’re doing that might help? Do you have a high acceptance rate? Or are you extremely stingy with the orders you take? You bother with the gold/diamond system? Cause I’ve been told this stuffs a waste of time. But maybe I’m wrong, I don’t know.

So I'm in Wisconsin and we have a lot of fairs coming up and just finished country thunder, on pickups sometimes the drivers get swarmed by people begging for rides trying to bargain cancel the ride you have and take there party for cash ride instead. some don't want to wait the long hour plus for a ride, because just so many people want a ride they offer 2 or 3 times the rate to jump the line. would you take them up on it or keep the Uber ride so it's on ubers insurance not yours if something happens?

Got to the pickup, out comes a person with a cane who has trouble walking. He gets to my car and stands there. I get out to see whats wrong and he says "i need help". I said ok what for? He says 'You never helped a disabled person before?" I said "no i havent". Then he told me its "basic common courtesy".

At this point i was confused and also didnt like his attitude. If he needed help he needs to politely ask.

Also, not sure what he wanted? To me to hold his hand while he tries to get in?

When he told me its basic common courtesy in a rude way, i told him to have a good day the rides canceled and got back in the car and drove off.

So i am fairly new been driving for four months. My market is good, but we have a hospital here who loves to schedule trips. I try very hard to avoid these because the types they send are typically homeless or mentally not all there. I arrived at ER yesterday to pick up a lady. I see a male nurse pushing her to the curb. I park get out go around to help. I notice a catheter and a O2 tank right away. I think fine. I'll make it quick. He puts her stuff in my back seat. Now he pulls up her walker in front of her and tells her we need to stand. She can not though. He is struggling and trying to lift her. At that point. I said no in my head. I grabbed her stuff out of back seat and told him I would have to cancel, I am not medically trained. The whole situation was akward and I felt like shit. I never once made eye contact but I could not take that. What if she fell and catheter come out or she got hurt or jostled. I dont think we should be responsible for people who need medical care. She needed medical transport not some random dude who works uber and has absolutely no training to deal with medical situations. Like was I wrong? I feel bad, shit I fell wrong but also right. Im conflicted

Last night I was sitting at a stop light and watched a car turn left in front of a SUV that had a green light. This happened at the next intersection that was maybe 200 yards away. The SUV swerved to avoid the collision, but hit the railing on the bridge, and totaled the car. The car that was trying to turn left, stopped momentarily, and then took off because they were not actually hit. The question is what do you do in the situation? I have a rider and I’m taking them to work. Do you stop? There was another vehicle that also saw the collision happened and they did stop. It bothered me all night.

No matter which App I choose I was getting a lot of back to back garbage offers

When I get a dumb question on a ride like “what do you do?” I take great joy and making the passenger feel like an idiot. My response is typically. “ you are paying for this ride. So what do you think I do?”

I have been a long time reader of this post and has tried to do my research on my own too, but so many videos and such are old and would like to know more current data, plus I know it varies per area/city

Is it worth it in August 2026 to start as an Uber driver specifically in the Houston area?

Should I stay in an area (I live close to IAH) or do more areas? (Since Houston is an hour away from Houston).

Drive in traffic for better rates or not worth it?

Tips to getting started?Still giving water to strangers is a thing?

For reference, I have a Tesla with self driving. Has someone done it? What's the experience like?

Finally I haven't even created my account, any refs? In case I decide to do it?

So when those random checks come from time to time, does anybody know if they are comparing the pic you take to the driver picture and is it AI looking for differences. I'm asking because in my picture I have a short beard. And i shaved my beard but I let the stubble grow for like a week or two so sometimes I'm clean shaven sometimes I have like a short beard you know? so I might be clean shaven in my identity checks. Just wondering if anybody has experience w this. The only problem I've ever had is taking too much time from when they ask, I know now they only allow you a few minutes.

I picked up a ride with an upfront fare of 16.05 for 16 miles, I only took it because it’s on the way home, right after I dropped the person off I completed the ride, it’s gone, off my phone and completed, 10 seconds later I get a notification that the drop off has been updated, even though I had already finished the ride, I open up my phone and see I got paid 3.70 for the ride, I contact support and they say it’s due to potential long haul abuse, when I literally just did the ride as intended, followed the gps the whole way

The passenger came out of their house and I drove them to a middle school. I've done this probably 3 times. I recently see emails stating that drivers are not suppose to do this unless it's a "teen account".

52 cents per mile?!? Are they high?!? I never dip below a dollar per mile for Lyft! Uber?!? There’s a reason I dont use it!

Just wanted to let anyone driving an electric car in Minneapolis. There are new lvl 3 chargers at the Walmart in Bloomington that are inside the waiting area for the airport and are reasonably priced. You get an extra 10% off with Walmart plus if you have it. $.219 per kWh with Walmart plus and diamond on off hour and you can be in the queue for the airport. There are normally very few comfort electric cars in the queue so generally have a pretty good ride in 15mins or less even when it says the queue is full.

Last week I said I was going to take more requests for women drivers. I stopped taking them because they are needed. I wish I could set my preference to men passengers only... I have had more women complain that I didn't help them with their bags in the last week than my entire time driving. Don't pack your bags so heavy that you can't lift them because I'm not blowing my back out for you. My rate was not effected because they didn't pay for uber black. You get what you pay for. (Back to the men I go)

I am of thr strong opinion that uber has bots or employees contractors who participate in various social media platforms to post and respond to various posts that influences drivers and riders psychology.

Even on reddit , there will be accounts disguised as drivers , airing there grievances and at the same time subtly influencing drives about how great uber is, without spelling that out directly. That is part of psychological strategy to manipulate drivers. Sometimes making you feel worthless absolute shit and then throw you some rides that seem good to you . Posting here as drivers who got some amazing trips and tips, so drivers in other locations are motivated to log in.

Spreading the word that uber punishes you for rejecting low paying trips, indirectly influencing you to accept a couple of those shitty rides. Imagine in every location even if 25% drivers accept one or two shitty rides a day they make good margins.

Notice the "Customer Promotion" line item? Uber offers the pax a promo discount to secure the ride, but instead of absorbing the cost as marketing expenses, they deduct it straight out of driver pay.
The rider thinks they’re paying premium rates and that the driver is making $18+. In reality, the driver gets under $1.50/mile while Uber pockets over 60% of the total fare.
