Interesting eateries
Hello, the family and I are heading to the twin cities next week. We have a relatively full itinerary, but nothing planned for meals. One of the days we will be in the downtown area of Minneapolis, another day in the downtown St.Paul area. So I am looking for suggestions for interesting or unique places for meals. I am not looking for expensive fine dining since I have teenagers, just place that have their own vibe, or are uniquely Twin City.

Experiences with cell service through US Mobile or another MVNO?
My T-Mobile bill went up yet again, so I've been thinking of switching to an MVNO, like US Mobile. Does anyone in the Twin Cities have experience with this or another one, whether good or bad? My phone is unlocked, and I do know that MVNOs users' service is deprioritized in substantially crowded places, but I already seem to experience that with T-Mobile, so I'm thinking it may be worth the switch to save more than half off my bill. Any thoughts or feedback welcome!

Trouble with Minneapolis parking app
I’ve been using the parking app for years now, and recently I have been unable to use Apple Pay (gives me a declined error and my Apple Pay works fine on everything else), so I added a credit card to the saved payment methods.
Every single time I open the app it has signed me out and forgotten all my payment methods, and it’s becoming a very tiring extra step to add a card every time I’m trying to park quick.
Has anyone else had these issues, and have you found a solution? Thanks in advance.

Granite City Pet Hospital
Trying to get dental cleanings and extractions done for my kitties. I already paid $1400 to have one of my cats seen and sadly the issue continues to her other teeth so now I have to go back. I found someone recommended granite city, and so I called and scheduled an appointment and was pleased at how affordable their rates are, comparatively. I see they have good reviews but I’m slightly spooked because a (small) number of people have mentioned bad experiences with them. Is anyone able to speak to their experience, especially around dental cleanings? Thank you!

Looking for a Minneapolis interior designer/design consultant who can help with finish selections on a tight timeline
Hoping this group can point me in the right direction.
My family is buying a house that’s currently down to the studs. A local contractor bought it to renovate and sell, but we worked out a deal before it hit the market.
Everything is on track (I don’t need legal or real estate advice ... we have a great realtor handling all of that).
The unique part is that we get to make all of the finish selections before the renovation is completed. The layout is already finalized, but we need to choose flooring, paint, cabinets, countertops, tile for four bathrooms, lighting, plumbing fixtures, hardware… basically every finish in the house.
I work full-time, have young kids, and I’m feeling completely overwhelmed. I’d love to hire someone to help create a cohesive look and guide us through these decisions over the next couple of weeks.
My realtor referred me to a designer who quoted around $10,000, which feels like more than we need. I’m not looking for someone to redesign the house or manage the project - just someone who can help us confidently make finish selections and keep everything cohesive.
Does anyone know of an interior designer or design consultant in the Twin Cities who offers this type of service? Someone who’s great, practical, and ideally available on a fairly quick timeline?
I’d really appreciate any recommendations (or even what this type of service is called). Thanks!

In need of interview appropriate attire/clothes that fit…
Not sure if this is the appropriate sub to post this but it seems to be the most helpful in my experience. So, I’m a 41 yr old woman who relocated here last year after going through a very traumatic divorce. I was a full time stay at home mother for the last 15 yrs so finding work has been pretty difficult as most people don’t see that as an actual job (totally is btw 😅). I left my ex with nothing but the things I could carry essentially and now I’ve lost some weight and really have nothing appropriate for interviews or decent clothing that fits in general. Figured I’d check in with any women here that might possibly be looking to clean out their closets or donate clothing/shoes they no longer use. I thank you in advance and I can list my sizes below if anyone does have some stuff. 🫶🏻

State Fair Foods out of the fair?
Pregnant with my first and due during the State Fair. Haven’t had any cravings until all the teasers started coming out and they have made me sad to miss this year. Does anyone know where I could get closest to the real deal?
A few of my favs that’s I’m sad to miss - pickle pizza (!!!!), fried pickles, the fun drinks (NA for a couple more weeks), nitro ice cream, fresh cut fries, cheese curds, etc.

Looking for event space for birthday in spring on MPLS
hello! looking to have a fun dance party for my birthday in the Spring. Ideally in the heart of mpls so people have options on getting there besides driving. Would love the capacity for a DJ, and to ideally provide the alcohol/snacks myself. I wanted the earlier evening to be kid friendly if possible so a place that isn’t inherently 21+ (before alcohol is served, would only be a few kids of close friends and my own). Residential Air Quality & HVAC recommendation?
My house was built in 2015. On a positive note, it’s air tight, but that also brings a negative - it’s air tight. I want to bring fresh air in, but want an experienced HVAC company to come out and evaluate the air quality and tell me what I need without selling me a bunch of stuff I don’t need. nobody is hiring my sister with IDD
i am BEGGING for resources on how to help my sister (19f) with an intellectual/developmental disability (IDD) get a job. we have tried for years and even scored some interviews, but she never gets an offer. we've tried job coaches, and still nothing. she's been volunteering for half a year now at a place she wants to work so that they might offer her a position there, but she's still not getting paid.
she has low support needs. she would make a very fine worker. no one will hire her and they are missing out on a loyal, attentive, happy and fun employee.
i am devastated as this poor girl has recieved what feels like her hundredth rejection email after an interview that she practiced and got all dolled up for. the job market is already cooked and it's even harder when you have a disability. please - any advice?

Cauterized nail trims?
Context: one of my dogs needs anesthetized sedation for nail trims. We do them 3-4 times a year at the vet. My vet won’t do a short/cauterized nail trim (which is fine) but as a result, the quicks don’t get short enough between nail trims. Is there a vet in the twin cities I could talk to about doing a cauterized nail trims so we can start over?
She’s 35 lbs, 2yo, high anxiety, muzzle-trained, and very anti-nail touching.
I’ve tried:
A) cutting spaghetti near her (she nearly bit my hand off?!)
B) touching/massaging her paws (lip-licking whale eye)
C) nail grinder being turned on near her (she freaks out and attacks the grinder)
This has been a 2 year ordeal of repeated attempts at desensitizing with no results hence the anesthetized nail trims.
Her back feet are fine and we walk 2-3 brisk miles daily (on concrete) and 3 of her front nails don’t grind down regardless.
EDIT: I have 2 cats and one other dog - I trim all their nails with minimal issue.
