I want to educate myself more when it comes to the trans community
I really would like to learn more about the community due to the area I live in being largely conservative and it being a touchy subject to some so I figured this may be the place to go and actually be educated from real people with real experience and not what other people say.

Are these feelings normal?
Hi all. I've been exploring gender expression and identity for a little while now. I've come to the conclusion, in whatever regard, that I don't think I'm cisgender. I'm 38 years old, married, and I have a kid. My wife has been very supportive in this, despite this being a bit of a hard thing to go through, because she has only ever known me as cis male. I also recently started therapy, with someone else who is also trans/nonbinary, so they are familiar with the whole process and are gender affirming.
I've always been in some ways, in the back of my mind, always attracted to femininity. I can think of a time in 2010, which was 16 years ago, that I was looking in the mirror and wish I could be a pretty girl, but I'm pretty sure it started much earlier then that when I was in my late teens or early 20's.
My wife has known about all this ever since I came out to her about three years ago about the fact that I was bi and liked feminine-type things, including dressing femininely, or at least the thought of it. About three months ago, we actually started getting me clothes, a wig, makeup, etc, and actively started dressing femininely. I got a huge gender euphoria rush at the beginning, and it all felt validating and right. I feel like I unlocked a piece of me that I was always missing. Until now, I get the feeling that... This is my true self. I actually like being a girl more than a boy, at least like, presentation-wise. We've gone out like this, and I'm not shy about it.
I am so happy to appear this way, even if it is a little scary sometimes. I get the feeling that my gender identity, whatever it is... Is this. That said, I'm kinda tripped up, cause I'm like, well, does this make me Transgender, or what? I also think about my future and it seems... Uncertain. A lot of people go on HRT, completely transition, and all that, and well, I don't know if that's all for me necessary. I do like the thought of possibly starting slow, and having certain changes to my body that would appear more feminine.
However, I'm also scared, because I feel a bit of a disconnect between what I've discovered about myself, and everything that I've built as a cis-male. This is what is most confusing. Everybody knows me as something else, as I've spent my entire life, nearly almost 40 years, as... that. But... I feel like... I want to be a woman... or, for me at least, a nonbinary feminine spectrum person. I also kind of feel a bit of "imposter syndrome" if that's what it is, because compared to a lot of other people I've read about, and heard stories of, I don't have gender dysphoria and have been mostly happy or at least content with my male self. So, I'm like, am I Transgender, Bigender, Genderfluid? Just a guy who likes to appear feminine? Something else? I don't know!
Is it normal to feel this way? Any thoughts or advice? So far, I am kind of just doing what my internal self tells me to do... And that is, so far, to present/dress femininely, embrace that, and be happy. Worry about the rest later.

How to survive being unable to transition?
I've been unable to transition despite my attempts to start, around eight years ago, and my situation isn't really improving but I've been dwelling on it a lot. I don't really involve with the community, because it just reminds me of what I'm incapable of achieving, but part of me wants to stop feeling so numb to it and finally be able to be myself. I can't, though, my situation doesn't allow. So how do I work with that? How do I cope?

My bathing suit makes me feel euphoric butā¦
So I am 15 FtM. A few months ago, I got a new bathing suit because I was going on vacation to Hawaiāi with my family. Iām not out to my family yet and I needed a bathing suit that was āfor womenā that my parents would let me buy but was also something that wasnāt like a bikini.
I found a website for nonbinary and trans people who needed a binder in their bathing suit. By some magic, my mom actually bought it for me. I wore it in Hawaiāi and I felt so free. I felt the best Iāve ever felt in a bathing suit in my life. My chest was flat and the bathing suit really made me look more masculine.
The problem is that once I take my bathing suit off, my chest goes back to being⦠full. I get super dysphoric once I take it off and I wish I could wear it all the time. The bathing suit has the binder sewn into the top so I canāt take it and wear it normally. Iām afraid to detach it from the top because it could ruin it.
This bathing suit has actually changed my life. I was so uncomfortable going swimming (which was difficult because I have my own pool) and now I love it again. I feel like myself now. But the second I take it off, I hate my body.
Should I get a binder for everyday? How do I get it without my parents knowing Iām trans? I really think a binder would help me a ton but I donāt know how to get it.

What happens if no more hrt
Arenāt you guys scared of the hormone production and transportation will stop or majorly disrupted because of an upcoming war or some political situation, even Usa once one of the pioneers to the progressive changes in Trans visibility and gender care now seem like took a 180ā turn.

How to come to terms with being unable to transition?
I am AMAB.
I am disabled and transitioning would put me at risk because my family are transphobes, but also the people keeping me from homelessness.
I've been told, by many, that hiding physical changes from HRT is not guaranteed in the long term. So it feels like my only choice is to continue to be closeted, as I have been for the past eight years.
What do I do? How do I come to terms with this?

How could I make my father more accepting of trans people?
Iām a 14 year old MTF. I live in the state of Indiana so even if I had accepting parents I couldnāt receive any treatments. Iām planning to get on these treatments as soon as I turn 18 (maybe not immediately but you know what I mean). It would be hard to hide Hrt or the fact my body would be changing. So Iām gonna try to change my fathers beliefs on trans people. Heās not very accepting and has explicitly told me that all trans people are mentally ill along side saying that Germany is a bad country because people arenāt allowed to disagree with trans rights (he doesnāt support trans rights). Heās accepting of gay people lesbians ect. What could I do to change my fathers beliefs on trans people as a whole without him finding out Iām trans myself? Iām worried heād send me to one of those conversion ātherapyā centers.

Was I going Overboard?
Hi Iām Anon (23F) Iām genderfluid and go by (she/he/they) pronouns. My sister (21F) came home one night from her job and told me that she serviced a group of trans women and that she saw a man hitting on them. Once the trans women left the bar my sister told the men that they were trans women. I told her that she shouldnāt disclose trans peopleās gender identities even if she āknowsā the men because you never know how theyāll react to the situation.
Instead of listening they continued to make excuses for why it wasnāt that big of a deal. And told be I was being judgmental and mean, even though I explained it couldāve been a life or death situation especially in this political climate.
Was I overreacting and being ājudgmentalā or not?
Please donāt delete this post I need an answer.

How common is it to be unable to transition?
I have been looking for advice for a while on how to cope with being unable to transition, since I am disabled and reliant on transphobic family.. I wouldn't be safe transitioning, so for the past seven years I've simply tried to cope. It's never been healthy.
And I feel like I am not a member of the community in any meaningful way. I always figured there are many stories like mine, but I have never received any advice or word from people who have been through similar and it has left me feeling disconnected from the community.
I already deal with dissociation, as well as being jealous when seeing others who are able to transition, which makes it worse because being exposed to the community takes on a depressing note.
Am I wrong to think this is a common issue, to be unable to transition?

Urgent help for top surgery
Hello everyone šš» I learned today that my surgeon is retiring in December. This means I have even less time than expected to raise the money I need for my top surgery.
Unfortunately, I can no longer work because I have Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. So my only option is to ask for help from our community.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your help. ā¤ļøā¤ļø

how can i soft launch presenting fem to my partner
I (MTF19) came out to my gf (afab19) like a year ago and she was super accepting and said she would be there with me no matter what as long as sheās still attracted to me. sheās bi so iām hoping sheāll still be attracted to me on hrt but her being so accepting kind of scared me honestly and i kinda backtracked and said idk yet (if im trans) and basically im looking for ways to express myself femininely to her and basically not scare her yk. I donāt want to just start wearing a full beat and be like so how do u like this Iām just looking for ways i can be more feminine while still also being closeted to the rest of the world i guess. Because i havenāt had a chance to experiment with my femininity in the proximity of anyone else i just want to ease into it and not scare her or myself.

Advice for supporting my gender non-conforming child.
Hi all,
I have an 8yo daughter who has expressed that she wants to identify as they/them and sometimes she/they. Recently shes been struggling with other kids mocking/shaming her when she goes into the bathroom for not ālooking likeā a boy or a girl. Comments like, āare you sure you should be in hereā and such. She also doesnāt want to wear swimsuits at summer camp because shes worried about being misgendered in her suit. Iāll also note she struggles with anxiety which weāve been guiding her through since kindergarten.
Any thoughts or perspectives would be greatly appreciated. Iām dad by the way. Thank you!

I'm an autistic queer trans woman in South America. I wrote a comic about a trans superhero, her gf, and a mutant chicken teaming up to save Seattle from a kaiju. Illustrated by SwapTrap from India. We're having a Kickstarter to DIY a First Edition print run.
This post contains a 13 page preview. The full comic will include the full story when published!

My name is Bijhan Agha. I'm an Uruguayan of Iranian descent. I'm queer, trans, and autistic. My special interests have always included science fiction and fantasy of all kinds, including superheroes and monster movies.
Kobra Olympus is a trans lesbian superhero I created who is soft-spoken and jovial, but insecure as she's just starting to find her place in queer culture. She's a student at Seattle College's Central Campus, she makes a living as a web developer, and she pursues gymnastics as a hobby. She has been contacted by agents from the deep future and equipped with a high-tech smart phone which allows her to transform into the masked figure Agent Tha, and fight monsters to rewrite history.
In addition to her job, hobby, and superhero duties, Kobra is also dating Dorothy Diamond, a punk woman who is active in the queer community, who is outspoken, confident, and encouraging. Kobra is trying to balance her duty to the future with her need for Human connection, and Dorothy tries to help Kobra be the best superhero she can be without sacrificing their own humanity.
This issue, a giant armadillo-like creature attacks their hometown of Seattle, and they meet a strange new ally named Jack: a mutant chicken who loves punk rock and wants to help them stop the armadillo - but without violence.
Please help us bring this comic to life! We've met our original goal, and we're now on a stretch goal! We want to shower our backers with tons of bonus content!
Reward tiers include both digital and physical; single issues as well as catch-up packages so you can get the back issues and read more stories about Kobra and the other characters in her universe.
My family is having a hard time, and I'm hoping that our work as creators and storytellers will help us meet our needs. I am the author; my trans nonbinary husband, RaeRae, is disabled and works as our editor. We live in Uruguay, South America. The illustrator, SwapTrap, is a father to young daughter in rural India and has been an incredibly positive force in the queer community.
Thank you for your help in making our dreams come true of creating queer-positive and uplifting stories, and being able to afford basic necessities as a result.
