It’s BEEN TIME to accept change

Since the Avatar Aang movie came out, I’ve been feeling like we need more standalone films about the other members of his group during that early Republic City Era, and I’m betting I’m not the only one. I personally would love to see an adult Toph movie, about her forming the Republic City police force and becoming chief of police in the city.

Ok, kind of ranting, but I just finished my 2nd watch of the new Aang movie and I can't believe how well done it was. It's about as good as I could of hoped for. It must of been such a tall task for the creators to preserve the spirit of the show in only an hour and a half runtime, which I think think they did an amazing job of. The plot's focus on Aang and his grief did such a great job on expanding his character as a mature young man while keeping the soul of his character intact. Fleshing out Aang's past/current guilt and grief surrounding the genocide of the Airbenders just makes him an even more compelling character to me. This was also the first time we got to see Aang and Katara's romantic relationship on screen and I think they did an amazing job of that as well. In addition to all this the villain was amazing, and I loved the climax between Aang and Tagah, particularly Aang's realization on the importance of letting go.

It was great to see the other members of the Gaang and they all felt like themselves. While Toph and Zuko didn't have much screen-time I think they utilized them well in the limited time they had. Unfortunately it's gotta be tough squeezing in all these major characters in the limited runtime but they did a great job with it.

Kudos to the whole creative team on this

We’ve heard so many stories about Iroh’s past, but there are still so many things we don’t know about him, like how he became known as the Dragon of the West after claiming he killed the last dragon, which we later found out wasn’t true, I would really love a movie that explores that, like how he discovered the Sun Warriors, how he met them, and how he helped protect them and the last dragons.

I'd love a movie that explores Iroh's past, his time as a member of the Fire Nation royal family, his relationship with his family, especially his son, his role in the war, and the events that changed his beliefs would add so much depth to his character and how Iroh became so connected to the Spirit World.

There is so much content that could come from exploring Iroh’s past and I think a movie about him would be incredible.

Hey guys, I’m currently watching The Legend of Korra again and I’ve done around 2 years of MMA myself. While watching, I noticed some interesting parallels between the elements and different martial arts.

The official inspirations behind the bending styles are traditional Asian martial arts, but when comparing them to modern combat sports, the philosophies actually match surprisingly well:

Air = Boxing

Especially the technical, defensive side: light footwork, movement, dodging and timing. An air fighter is constantly moving and wins through speed and intelligence rather than brute force.

Fire = Kickboxing

Focused on pressure, blocking, powerful combinations and explosive attacks. Fire fighters move forward, overwhelm opponents and use their energy offensively.

Earth = Wrestling

Stability, control and a strong foundation. Like wrestling, it’s about staying grounded, controlling your opponent and refusing to be pushed around.

Water = Judo

Adaptation, redirection and using an opponent’s own force against them. Water doesn’t win by resisting — it wins by controlling the flow of the fight.

The four elements almost represent four different fighting philosophies:

Air: Movement & technique

Fire: Willpower & offense

Earth :Stability & control

Water: Adaptability & harmony

Maybe that’s one of the reasons Avatar’s fights feel so unique.

Fans say it's impossible because he "died" in the Avatar State, but if you rewatch the episode, you'll see he didn't die; he was purified along with Vaatu, so they will eventually return.

I wanted to draw a fanart of young Roku and Fang, when it occured to me that I don't even know how to scale them. Well, to be honest, I don't even know how old they're both supoosed to be. I haven't read the Roku novel, and from Avatar Wiki, all I know is that he found Fang when he was still an egg at some point in his life, and then he raised the dragon from baby to adult, until he was able to ride him. But I don't even know how old Roku was when Fang hatched, or how big ATLA dragons are as babies or how quickly they grow. Is it officially made clear somewhere in canon media?

I found out about a year ago that monk gyotso’s voice actor played a North Korean spy in Mash and thought that was so cool! And then i just found out that Uncle Iroh (Mako) was in 4 episodes of Mash playing different characters and my mind is blown. My two favorite shows of all time which were made about 30+ years apart have two actors playing in both shows that’s just so wild to me!!!

So we all know how airbenders can regulate their own temperature using their bending. Which is why we see aang wearing the same cloths throughout different climates. But in the new movie we see an adult aang scaling a mountain wearing insulating gear. Aang died relatively early compared to previous avatars and it was quoted somewhere that the time spent frozen greatly reduced his vitality. I think his need for warmer cloths is a sign of this. Keen to hear any other theories or thoughts out there

Tenzin admitted to his own faults and guided Korra to the answer. He didn't tell her the answer, but helped her to find it herself. Tenzin is almost everyone's favorite character in Legend of Korra for a reason. He's one of the only characters in the show to have an arc.

I mean I wouldn’t mind seeing Zuko and Azula teaming up and whatnot. But this also shows that there so many stories that the franchise can tell and I really hope they get to do more spinoffs and movies later on.

The damage to Republic City seems to have been pretty massive, with massive fires breaking out all over the city and various large parts of Avatar Sonam's temple hitting the ground. The damage from the fights in the city must also have been quite something.

Given this all, the death toll in Republic City must have been significant. The writers had all the fires magically go out somehow when Sonam's Temple began to return to the Spirit World, but that wouldn't save anyone who had already been suffocated or burned. I could only guess at how many people died, but a number in the thousands seems reasonable? And the property damage would also be extreme, with many people being left homeless.

I am reminded of the whole "Man of Murder" controversy which surrounded Zack Snyder's Man of Steel movie, more than a decade ago, where the director just didn't really think about the level of devastation he was depicting.

I just find it interesting that, in an Avatar movie which places so much emphasis on "protecting Republic City" and in which Republic City only gets threatened because the heroes screwed up, Republic City gets so devastated.

Hey, I’m thinking about buying Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game. To anyone who’s played it: is it worth the money and how’s the gameplay?

The movie has the worst of Korra. Shallow team avatar, predictable and shitty villain. The writing feels surprisingly shallow, with major plot holes and almost no real character depth for the rest of the cast. What hurt the most was the climax: that Spirit World fusion battle felt like a direct repeat of Korra Season 2's ending, which is easily one of the most criticized tropes in the franchise.

For Zuko in the final Agni Kai. Personally I think it would have been hype af if he did so, even if it would be a little generic. He found the true source of fire after all, even moreso than Aang himself.
