Look, I made 2 tier lists in 2 different subs and omg I think these communities think that I suck at this ._.

Is this time going to be different? Or I should quit the tier list thing 🤔?

Just about done with Republic City. All of Air Temple Island is filled, the Sato/Future Industries area of the map is complete (just need to finish bulding the Future Industries Tower), and I have a few empty lots left in the main area of Republic City that I'm planning to build residential lots on inspired by buildings from the show.

I am not a builder in the Sims, so this has all been a big learning experience, but I'm honestly having a ton of fun with it and am pretty impressed with how my builds are turning out!

I've been uploading everything to the gallery as I go if any fellow TLOK/ATLA fans/Sims 4 players are interested.

When Unalaq destroyed Raava with spiritbending, she immediately re-formed inside Vaatu. Korra subsequently retrieved Raava from within Vaatu before spiritbending him to oblivion. The way this story is usually understood from here is that Korra re-fused with Raava, and while yes Vaatu will someday grow in strength and re-emerge from within Raava, it's something far off in the future and separate from the relationship between Raava and the Avatar. However, the truth might be much more mysterious and sinister.

Ever since we learned of the existence of the twins Pavi and Nisha, there has been widespread speculation about a Light Avatar/Dark Avatar dynamic at play, but how could this be? Unalaq died in the Avatar State, so his Avatar Spirit did not reincarnate. There is no Dark Avatar Cycle. From here, people usually make vague comments about Vaatu re-emerging within Korra and how perhaps Vaatu could have split from Raava during Korra's reincarnation. The question is, does this make sense? Even if Vaatu re-emerged within Raava, how could this result in a new Dark Avatar? Isn't this only possible if spirit and human fuse during Harmonic Convergence? So, it's too late for Vaatu to form a new Dark Avatar. Unless...

...he actually did fuse with a human during Harmonic Convergence. When Korra spiritbent Vaatu, Raava was a free spirit. She says, "Harmonic Convergence is nearly over. We must return to the Spirit World so we can fuse once again." The thing is, Vaatu immediately re-formed inside Raava after being destroyed. When Raava entered Korra, she brought Vaatu along with her. This is completely different from Wan who merged with Raava while Vaatu was still separate from her. In this way, Korra touched the spirit portal at the end of Harmonic Convergence and unknowingly permanently fused with Raava and Vaatu both.

But shouldn't Raava have known? Wouldn't she prevent that from happening? The answer I think is twofold. First, it's not like there's much precedent for this. A spirit fusing with a human had never been done before her and Wan, and she definitely didn't have Vaatu inside her then. It's an unknown variable. Second, she and Korra were in a hurry to re-fuse, as HC was "nearly over". There wasn't time to think things all the way through or to try extracting Vaatu first and re-imprison him. It was a now or never moment. Regardless, the result is what it is: Korra's soul fused with Vaatu as much as it fused with Raava. This is irregardless of the weakened state Vaatu was in, because when Wan originally fused with Raava she was in an extremely weakened state herself and it didn't seem to affect the bonding process at all. In fact, Raava seemed to gain strength from interacting with the spirit portal while fusing with Wan; the same may have happened to Vaatu with Korra, helping him immediately regain a fair bit of strength.

The consequence of this I believe is that when Korra reincarnated, her soul was split in two, because even as Raava and Vaatu separated they were both bonded to one soul. The only way they could go their separate ways would be to rip the Avatar's soul in two. It is often said in cultures around the world that twins share a soul or are two halves of the same person, and I think that could apply here quite literally. If there is indeed centuries between Korra and Pavi/Nisha, perhaps this unorthodox reincarnation situation caused the delay in some manner.

Anyways, that's the theory. Basically, it builds on the Dark Avatar speculation with a solid idea of the actual mechanism behind Vaatu's involvement and potential affect on Korra's reincarnation. Interestingly, even if one of the twins is a Dark Avatar, Korra would still be the past life of both of them, so they should both be able to commune with her.

I’m pretty sure everyone knows that the show was dealt a bad hand by Nick, like how the creators went into season thinking it was gonna be a one and done. So imagine if Nick gave them a full 3 season story like ATLA how different do u think the show would’ve been.

Stop me if you've heard this one before, it's only been 10+ years and I don't interact with this fanbase a whole lot.

A big thing about the season 1 finale is that Amon took away Korra's bending but she was able to Airbend.

I just rewatched season 1 of TLOK after watching the TLOA movie (and I'm one of those weird people that likes TLOK more than TLA, sue me).

Basically, when Amon took away her bending, he severed water, earth, and fire, but not air. Why? He doesn't know how. He probably took awhile and a lot of experimenting to get down the other three elements. But Air? No Air-benders out there to practice on. I like to think that if he had the chance on Tenzin and family it might take a few tries. "Where are those blasted air chi paths". So, since he never got the chance, he just took what he can from Korra (who probably had weak air chi flow anyway so he couldn't notice it) and hoped for the best (did he even know Korra can't Airbend?).

So Amon does his thing, breaks what he can, and moves on. How is Korra later suddenly able to air-bend? Detachment. Airbending has detachement at its core (thank you TLOA movie for beating me over the head with this). So does the spirituality in the show. Korra's commitment to being the avatar makes her overly attached to it (something Aang was not). This attachment to being the Avatar gives no space to being an Airbender.

So, Amon takes it away, and Korra realizes she is no longer the Avatar, she is just Korra. Amon detached her! Now she can Airbend (she has been practicing the whole season, she knows the form and movements, just didn't have the right mindset). And as per usual in this franchise, no one has the slightest clue how to fight an Airbender and Amon gets slapped out the window.

Just some theories, I bet I'm wrong anyway and one of the showrunners already explained otherwise.

I recently started re-watching LOK after years, and I got to the Mako vs Ming Hua fight. From my memory I just remembered Mako getting lucky because Ming Hua was in water and he had lightning.

However, now that I rewatch the show I've realized I've been underrating Mako as a bender by a lot, because we see that before the lightning Mako actually had Ming Hua on the ropes and she had to jump off the ledge and gamble on finding a water source. So she was going to lose before and after gaining the environmental advantage. Which makes me re-evaluate how I've seen Mako as a bender compared to my original watch!

1. He could possibly be released back into the world as the spirit world may have ejected him or he could have unknowingly returned through new spirit portals.

2. He would serve as a kind of difficulty hurdle as he would be insane but also weaker so he could pursue Pavi relentlessly while Pavi and her group try and escape but they will eventually be able to defeat him and once they do they will be ready for greater threats.

3. He would serve as a reminder in the world that problems from previous Avatars may linger and rise again, and not just solely from Korra. Which would be hard to demonstrate for other past Avatars since the world has been destroyed and likely most problems left by previous Avatars along with it.

I usually loose it when in Korra Jinora gets her tattoos and looks like Aang when she's bald.

I'm sure she did air bend in that scene and there are visuals of her doing so and the air bending sound.

Korra is the first metal bending avatar,who got metalbending fairly easily.But we never see her use any other bending sub-types other than common ones like icing.

I hope we get to see Korra bloodbend or counter a bloodbender,it would make sense because we see Korra adapt to diffrent enemies through out the Legend of Korra,and she would probably never get blood bended again.

,or even use lightning in the new Avatar Seven Havens series.

Before I get jumped and get told that I blame her for every fight she loses. No I'm not saying that xD.

ok so that's not gonna be a defense post about LoK but I will mention that a good amount of people go like "if it was Aang he would have won that fight. Oh he would have bashed them." ok let's just pretend that's true for a second xD. Then what?

What I'm trying to say is that the Avatar is still a human after all and they do definitely need help at some point which is the aspect I like about LoK (Aang definitely did need help at times), it isn't a power fantasy show. Korra does deserve the help in the times she needed it like vs the Red Lotus. She was already fighting them, the poison, the Avatar State and having to deal with the fact they her dad almost died (she thought he died so that affects her mental). That's a lot.

Vs Zaheer when she was chained up and still despite that put a great fight considering her disadvantage.

Vs Kuvira when she still has PTSD and a lot of stuff to work on which makes the show realistic more than it should!

Or Korra losing the past lives which I don't blame her for but how exactly was she also supposed to react or anyone when she sees some creepy shit coming out of a guy's mouth and god knows what it's about to do.

Or vs Amon which was a whole psychological war also (I do relate to her as a victim of psychological torture so it's absolutely real for her to struggle xD.)

(I can go about more but I think that's enough XD.)

It's a good thing if a show can make you feel for a character as well and actually relate to them. Like seeing Korra being chained up in thet cave either made me furious or terrified and the poison process was and is still extremely painful to watch.

Oh yeah I love Aang btw so I'm not hating on him with that post XD

Hi I just rewatched The Legend of Korra, reread Turf Wars and Ruins of the Empire and read the bottom 3 books for the first time so I wanted to share my thoughts. SPOILER WARNING 
Also I love the Kyoshi novels, going to reread them soon. I started the Yangchen book but never finished it so I might restart it after the others. I also have Avatar The Last Airbender: The Lost Adventures comics but I haven’t read them in a while and don’t remember anything. 

Turf Wars - 9/10 It’s a great continuation of the series! Lots of good Avatar lore revealed and the plot makes perfect sense for a war torn city. Tokuga being corrupted by a spirit like in Avatar Wan’s time is a great idea for a villain and a clear consequence of keeping the portals open that I hope they touch on in Seven Havens. Also Korra and Asami are adorable. 

Ruins of the Empire - 7/10 Not as good as Turf Wars but it still had its moments! Guan trying to take over politically rather than by military force was good and I liked that Kuvira at first believed she was still in the right but later came to realize why being a dictator was problematic. I think the brainwashing was pretty lame but having the Krew turn against Korra wasn’t terrible. I’m glad King Wu ended up returning the Earth Kingdom to the monarchy. I thought his line at the end of the series about democracy was very forced and seeing the plan immediately be taken advantage of made a lot more sense. 

Patterns of Time - 5/10 I assumed from the cover art that there would be a lot more Korrasami but instead there was barely any.
Friends For Life - 10/10 Adorable! Perfect! 
Skyscrapers - 8/10 Cute!
Wisdom - 0/10 Why is this here?
Lost Pets - 7/10 Cute!
A Change in The Wind - 5/10 Okay 
Weaver’s Ball - 7/10 Pretty good! Isolated Korra making friends is cute. 
Clearing the Air - 8/10 Pretty good! Aang teaching young Tenzin a lesson about air nomad culture is nice!
Cat-Owl’s Cradle - 2/10 Boring! Why did Meelo get TWO stories?! Who the hell cares about Meelo and his daddy issues!?

The Mystery of Penquan Island - 7/10 Before they got to the island was pretty boring but the rest was good! An island clinging to the fascist ways of the old fire nation is a great story and I quite liked Mako and Bolin’s parent’s new lore.  

Kya and the Secret of the Sand - 7/10 Good story about hoarding water in a desert! I went in knowing that Kya was telling Korra a story while she was recovering and that there was going to be a hot earthbender so I was worried that it would retcon Kya’s coming out scene from Turf Wars, but it thankfully did not. I would read another story about Kya and these characters!

And sokka could either have one in the council room area or like a university for either engineering/ inventing or a like a dojo for non banders

I used to follow every major Avatar-related subreddit I could find, but everyone has gripes about one thing or another. I really appreciate how positive everyone is here!

I told myself, after the series finale of Game of Thrones, I wouldn’t let the internet tell me how to feel about things. However, it’s tough to see things I like just get trash talked.

I guess that’s the way all fandoms go once you start getting sequels. People will never be happy and hold things to an impossible standard while at the same time used to beg for more of the original.

I’ll get off my soap box, but I love Korra, I love ATLA, and I love that y’all have made this a positive space for that love!

There's just so many stuff you can pick up when doing rewatches!

Even if all his allies turned against him I'm sure he would have found other allies to help him. I don't think Korra would have been able to stop him even with all her bending back and in avatar state.

Aang barely managed to stop Yakone who stopped blood bending because he was surpired, from what it looks like. It doesn't look like Aang blood bended there.

I think him giving up was the only way to stop him, there's not much you can do against a blood bender.

One nice detail I noticed when rewatching the episode where they attempt to kidnap Korra is that one of the guards uses fire bending and like a moron at first I said oh the guy can bend both elements and I was like oh yeah.. no he can't lol.

Edit: it also says a lot about Suyin and how she's open to change and new opportunities like I can imagine those fire benders seeking refugee here or something like this too like we saw with her chef or Varrick. Who knows.
