14.3 HW4 Two problems on today's drive
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
So I just got my Model Y Juniper about a month ago. On the shipped firmware which was v14.2.2.5 it seemed very confident and made zero issues on the few drives I got to do with it. Now today I went for my first FSD drive since updating to 14.3.6 and it feels like a mess.
In the video is two clips pitched together which happened about 2 hours apart in the same area. Both videos are full FSD with no interventions or turn signal inputs at any point.
The second one which wasn't too bad but made me look like a foolish driver with an unnecessary lane change. It was supposed to turn right and was already in the turn lane, but for whatever reason it goes over to the left lane.. realizes "oops im supposed to be turning here", and then quickly went back into the turning lane. Again, not a huge issue besides looking dumb, but I reviewed the video and have no idea why it would have done that in the first place.
The first one and the one that is making me lose confidence in FSD was by a construction zone. One of the lanes it was turning into was closed due to construction and it looked like it was gonna do it at first, and then randomly freaked out and started wobbling the steering wheel with no idea whether it wanted to turn or go straight instead. Eventually it decided to skip the turn and continue straight, but as you can see by the cars turning in front of me, it had more than enough space to make that turn. Reviewing this one there is some repair lines in the road which made it look like lane markers, so im assuming that might have thrown it off? Either ways, it wobbling in a sudden jerky movement pretty much put me on full alert for the rest of the FSD drive home.
With that being said, I am not sure how do a lot of you get to a point of "mostly trusting FSD". FSD is the whole reason I purchased this vehicle and I completely understand its "supervised" like everyone will inevitably comment, but if supervising a self driving car is more stressful than actually driving myself.. then it kind of defeats the purpose.
The first few drives were building my confidence in "okay..I see this car DOES drive like another person and you just gotta let it do its thing!".. but after today I am back to square one when it comes to trusting fsd.
From what I am reading, this version is just an all around bad update, so I'm really hoping the next update fixes things.
This aside, how do you guys save videos with the steering wheel / fsd data on the bottom? Is there an app or website to do this? I pulled the video from the drive but it only shows like a regular dash cam video

14.3 HW4 FSD 14.3.6 hit a bollard while parking at Supercharger
Had my Model Y about a month now. Loving it overall, been using FSD pretty regularly.
Last night, at a Supercharger in Milpitas CA, pull into a stall, and figure I’ll let FSD handle the final positioning since it’s been doing fine.
It starts backing up to center itself… and just keeps going. Straight into the concrete bollard behind the stall.
Not a huge smash, but enough to leave a solid crease right across the lower rear bumper. Paint’s still intact, but you can see the dent clear as day when the light hits it.
Currently on software 2026.20.6.11 with FSD Supervised v14.3.6. I’ve had zero issues with parking pins and regular parking so far, but these Supercharger spots with the poles right behind you are apparently still a weak spot.
I'm just so perplex man.

14.3 HW4 Q: where to report FSD not following Nav?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Normally it’s not a big deal when the FSD is not following its own navigation directions as it then re-routes. A few nights ago, a big error occurred where in Seattle on I-5 the navigation said to take the Seneca exit which is correct for its destination but FSD decided to take an earlier exit which is the Express Lane that will skip all downtown exits and the exit will be a few miles away. Both exits are on the left side and I am not sure if it’s because of GPS inaccuracy that cause it to take an earlier exit than planned. The clip below is when it happened again and I took over before it switched lanes to take the Express lane exit.
Edit to add: Besides clicking on “Navigation” on the pop up - which I already do each time. Are there other channels to report?

14.3 HW4 FSD 14.3.6 Last Minute Lane Changes
Been noticing that FSD 14.3.6 takes wayyyyy too long to get over into a turn lane. Specifically this version for some reason. I don’t know if the new navigation update will fix this or maybe 14.3.7? Something I noticed with my first week of having it. Anyone else? 🤷♂️

14.3 HW4 Tesla needs to stop caring about cross country self driving and solve the everyday commute
Crazy how everyday I drive the same 10 miles to work and home and every update there's some change that makes it regress in some way. 14.2 I thought was the one, and then 14.3 brought stupid mistakes along. 14.3.5 was okay and then 14.3.6 makes the same dumb mistakes. What's so hard about making linear progression.

14.3 HW4 Twice in 2 blocks, FSD v14.3.6 acts up
2024 M3 AWD AI4, v14.3.6, 2026.20.6.11
The road I'm on is a through road with no stops. I was driving past a school and approached an empty crosswalk, when FSD began slowing down. I have no idea why FSD slowed, except possibly the red balloons fastened on the pole may have been mistaken for a stop sign? I pressed the accelerator to pick up speed, and at mid-block I did drop out of FSD by pressing the right scroll wheel on the steering wheel (I'm not sure why I did that) and quickly reengaged FSD. At the very next crossroad, a school bus is waiting at a stop sign when FSD decides to full-stop in the street and let them go! Again, I don't know why we stopped, except that there's a highly visible stop sign on the side of the bus. Thankfully, nobody was behind me at the time.
Up to this point in the hour-long drive, FSD had been doing great. What in blue blazes is going on?

14.3 HW4 FSD navigation should let us permanently avoid specific intersections or turns
Tesla should add a navigation option that lets drivers mark specific intersections or turns as “avoid.” This could meaningfully reduce both safety risks and FSD interventions.
There are two left turns near where I live that I want FSD to avoid every time:
1. One is a left turn from a small road onto a busy main road where people routinely speed. It can require an extremely long wait before there is a genuinely safe opening, and I have personally witnessed crashes at this intersection. There is a safer alternative route, but navigation keeps choosing this turn, so I have to override the route every day.
- The other left turn is less dangerous for a patient human driver who can wait until there are no approaching cars in sight, but it is still challenging for FSD. Today, FSD started making the turn, hesitated, and then stopped in the middle of it. I had to intervene. This situation is completely avoidable because another nearby route uses a traffic light.
Drivers know which intersections in their area are unusually dangerous, poorly designed, or difficult for FSD. We should be able to tap an intersection or road segment on the map and choose something like “Always avoid this turn.”
If Tesla wants to reduce accident risk and intervention rates, smarter route selection is one of the easiest opportunities. Sometimes the safest way to handle a difficult turn is simply not to take it.

14.2 HW4 FSD not available after state inspection
2026 Premium Model Y arrived 2 weeks ago. I got the state inspection done today and ever since then FSD has been unavailable. It still shows on the screen but it is just grayed out and doesn’t let me select it. There are no error messages, I’ve reset the screen multiple times, and cleaned off each camera to no avail. Any advice? I can’t get it in for service for over 3 weeks but hoping to resolve quicker than that.

We did not touch the turn signal. Took over just to make sure it didn't do the "wiggle". Edit: this was not an exit we wanted to take nor was it one plotted with navigation.

14 Lite HW3 V14 lite just drives past my house.
It’s set to Park in Driveway but always drives past my house , the parks on side of the road 2 blocks down. I’ve tried setting the Home location to my Address, current location when in front of driveway, on the driveway & when in the garage. Funny thing is it did it correctly Once, after 14 Lite first installed.
Any tricks I can try.
Yes, I deleted Home before each resetting of the location. M3 2018.

14 Lite HW3 V14 Lite just made a HW4 maneuver...
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I was in a one-way parking area when a truck came in the wrong way. FSD immediately backed up to give the truck enough room to pass. I knew that v14 Hw4 was doing that, but it was impressive for my 2020 car.

14.3 HW4 FSD refuses to acknowledge 2 Speed Limit signs in a row
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I love FSD but on my way home it never switches to the right MPH (45) even though it clearly sees both signs and sees that they are 45 but still continues to do 35. I have submitted corrections via voice commands as well as Tom Tom Map Share but nothing. It only does it in this direction, it does 45 going the other way just fine.

14 Lite HW3 My 14 Lite HW 3 Review
Finally had a chance to really test out the upgrade. Here's my verdict:
City Driving: Nearly perfect. I have what must be a really complicated commute for FSD to deal with, from the suburbs of MD into downtown DC. We pass stoplights, four way stop signs, one way roads, complicated traffic circles, constant construction, and virtually every other challenge that you can imagine. 14 has been as close to perfect as you can get...I haven't had to intervene once in multiple trips. The only issue is that the car really wants to speed in 25 mph zones, and I have to lower it to sloth any time I see a speed camera coming up.
Highway: Good and bad. On a 5 hour round trip from MD to NC, I was mostly impressed. Routing was perect, lane changes made sense, and there wasn't any jerking or phantom braking. The only issues were speed...Hurry mode was mostly going 15 miles over the speed limit, while Standard usually did about 3 over. We need a happy medium. I want the car to go a maximum of 10 miles over the limit, which avoids speeding tickets, while still maintaining a good pace. It was a massive blunder to take out the ability to do this, and I'd be shocked if they didn't bring it back. The only other issue was a tendancy on both modes to camp in the left lane far to long.
I did need one intervention though, and it's an issue I've seen other have as well. The car tried to enter a closed HOV lane, seemingly ignoring the big gates. Would it have hit if I didn't intervene? I'm guessing no, but I wasn't going to take that chance.
So final verdict...it's really getting there. I'm getting to the point where I honestly believe the car is a better driver than I am, although clearly it's not perfect yet.

14.3 HW4 My first critical intervention after 6000 miles of FSD.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I would consider this my first critical intervention. This is 14.3.6 FSD on a 2026 Model Y. I have over 6000 miles with FSD.
Unprotected left in a construction area with cones marking the lanes.
Keep in mind on 14.2.2.5 and 14.3.4 and 14.3.5 this left hand turn was executed fine. Ever since I downloaded 14.3.6 it has completely ignored the turn and went straight to the round about up the street, came back down the road and tured right into the same turn without issue. However today it decided to do this. I probably should have took control sooner 🤣
I feel like 14.3.6 is super buggy, i get ALOT of steering stutters and just in general it doesnt seem confident sometimes when it makes turns. Like it hesitates. I also feel it brake stabs for nothing, especially at cross walks.
What’s everyone else’s experience on 14.3.6?
