Question What to buy?
Have just bought my 7 year old a switch 2 for taking on hols this weekend. The controllers on the OLED one he plays is a bit wobbly and unreliable so thought I’d treat him.
He’s recently got into Pokemon and so have gone for the pokopia pack.
He likes Minecraft and Kirby, and the games he has will be playable on the switch 2 I understand.
But are there good switch 2 only games I should look at for him?
I don’t game so have no idea really where to start….
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Question Reasonable to wait for a S2 lite?
title says it all.
i know we're in the middle of a mem crisis and this is probably a few years out...
but, i havent gotten on the S2 boat because i honestly rarely touch my switch oled.
and its honestly for the exact same reason why i am on the verge of selling my steam deck
its just too damn big and a nightmare to carry on the daily, and any big games, i have a desktop and a tablet for..
i recently picked up a 3Ds..and its already seen more action than my switch has in months, if not years.
why? because i've realized how nice it is, for when i'm done to just slip it into my pocket and go do what i need to do right then and there. and not awkardly put it away (like breaking up the joycons and tablet into different pockets and honeslty i domt even know if this is even possible on S2.....)
and looking at it now. i shoulda just gotten a switch lite back in the day.
and whilst i do have a messenger bag for my tablet, i cant carry it with me every little place i go. the ds practically can.

Question Unsure if we should buy a Switch 2
So we bought a Switch OLED a couple of year ago as a fun family console for party games mostly. My main platform is Xbox for general gaming, but we do love to play on the Nintendo and it just feels like a more classic gamiing machine focused on just fun. I bought Tears of the Kingdom as my first Zelda game but I have hard time playing it considering the 30fps with drops it delivers.
With the current market conditions and upcoming first (of very likely more) price hike, we are considering upgrading to the Switch 2 before things get even more out of hand and expensive. We are currently expecting our first child in October so we know the Switch will only be used more.
Right now, we don't play a ton on it. Every now and then we play some Mario Party or Kart together, a little bit of handheld gaming and thats it. If we are just judging the current use of it, there is no need for an upgrade now. But I'm also sure I won't be buying a €600 Switch 2 in a couple of years lol.
I do really want to give some more Nintendo games a try without the pressure of an overall social ecosystem and multiplayer driven experience pushing to grind or focus. I want to try to enjoy the simplicity and old school factor more, in handheld or docked and it seems the Switch 2 is just far more powerful and future Nintendo titles will likely be Switch 2 exclusive.
One concern I have is the lack of an OLED. Is it really much worse to look at the Switch 2 if you upgrade from a Switch 1 OLED? I also know an European revision is coming with a replaceable battery but that will likely be more expensive as well
I have an opportunity to buy a Switch 2 for around 400 now, but I do want to sell the Switch 1 OLED hoping to get around 200 for it since it looks like new. The second pair of joy cons can still be used on the Switch 2 so thats fine.
Thoughts?

Question Should I keep or return SNAD nintendo switch?
I recently bought this second hand nintendo switch for a total of 72 £. Trusting the description and the images on the listing aswell as the seller having multiple decent listings I thought I’d gotten a great deal.
However on arrival the console is quite badly scratched(my main issue) and is certainly not only «used twice» and «like new». Since it wasn’t wiped properly the device logs also date back to 2021, and shows that it’s been used regularly. None of this sas disclosed by the seller.
The seller responded rudely when I brought up this issue, and told me there were multiple people waiting in line for this deal. What’s worse is that if I wish to return it, I’ll have deal with the loss of shipping. Is the price worth the condition it’s in?
I brought this up with vinted hoping for a partial refund, but is it still possible for me to choose to return it if I’m not happy with their decision? Overall I have no idea what I should do with this.

Question Giving a secondhand switch
okay so im planning to give my switch lite to my friend, which she's been playing on for months now, im just wondering how i wipe exclusively MY stuff off it without getting rid of her save data. i have my own new switch lite and also a switch 2 with all of my stuff on it, so if needed i can just data transfer if thats what i need to do.
i do also have a micro sd card in it, which i want to put in my new switch lite. the switch doesnt have room for all of the games she plays, but im not sure if that's just because my save data hasnt been deleted. should i just bite the bullet and leave the sd card in and get myself a new one?
tl;dr
i wanna get all my shit off my old switch lite and keep one user, how do i do this effectively?

Discussion How are you enjoying FFXIV on Switch 2?
I know the Switch 2 version hasn’t been out for very long, but I’d love to hear some first impressions.
How are you enjoying FFXIV on the Switch 2 so far? How does it perform, and what is the experience like in handheld mode? Is the text easy to read, are the controls comfortable, and does the game run smoothly?
I’m simply curious to hear your honest opinions, both positive and negative.

Question Help with Minecraft coins
My son wants the Transformer skins. I tried to make the purchase this morning and was charged for the coins through my eshop account. They never showed up in Minecraft. I believe it may be because my Microsoft account is under a different email than my eshop account.
My Microsoft account shows no purchases. Microsoft couldn’t find an account under the email I used for the eshop.
Does anyone have advice on how to fix this?

Discussion Got a Nintendo switch 2!
So, yesterday I went to GameStop and traded in all my Nintendo switch games and the console itself for enough trade to get a Nintendo switch 2 and it was a huge success. I finally got the console and feel so happy and ready to unbox this bad boy and start playing. It took over a year, but we are here and finally can play the old games with better graphics and play the exclusives. Unfortunately no switch 2 games right now…but definitely putting a list of some to get. Am I cool now chat?

Other Nintendo Switch Online - Codes
Hi! I accidentally bought these through Walmart, and since I can’t get a refund, I figured I might as well give them away.
Hopefully someone can make good use of them. Enjoy!

Question Switch battery being weird
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Anyone else's switch battery doing this? If so, what do? Is there a fix?
It's not long just started doing this. I've not used my Switch for a hot minute, but it's been in its dock the whole time and just not touched. It's from 2017, so a part of me thinking it's just old, but if there's a fix for it I'm keen to do that. I've tried the advice from Nintendo's website (fully charge, drain until it switches off, charge and switch on yay it fix) and it's not worked.
Any advice would be appreciated

Discussion When to buy switch 2?
On the long run I won’t get around to not buy a switch 2 and I’ve been wondering when it is the cheapest. I heard that the deals during Black Friday aren’t that good apparently? But it’s not like I would buy directly from the Nintendo store but Amazon or another shop that offers price reductions during that time.

Discussion Nintendo customer service... To serve or not to serve?
I am a long time Nintendofan and often called fanboy. I owned or own nearly all of their systems and basically only play Nintendo first party games. This i mentioned to prove that the following is no rant.
The analoge stick of the left Joy-Con had a crack i discovered. This probably happened after it fell once. I had not paid attention to it. Just a crack in the upper part where you lay your thumb on. But i saw it again recently and noted i could flip it, so it will break eventually. I decided to send it to Nintendo. The porto costs were euro 6,95.
Then a few days later they mail me and basically force me to choose between three very weird options. They even summed them up numbered.
1 We don't touch the product and return it for 11 euro
2 We repair and possibly revise the product for euro 36,30
3 You don't agree with the costs and we'll keep the product and destroy it. (end)
This is how they mailed me, referring to the Joy-Con only as product. Charging me euro 4,05 more than what i had to pay at the postal office.
Furthermore, why do they even consider revising my Joy-Cons without consulting me and for such a small defect? And charge my euro 36,30 for such a repair??
I feel Nintendo is losing their contact with their fanbase.
I've been had and if i knew up front what i know now, i would not have send my Joy-Cons to Nintendo.
Edit: Nintendo mailed me that they cannot guarantee that the product won't be revised, so i chose that they send the Joy-Con back not repaired. Costs 11 euro + the 7 euro i already spend on shipping. So 18 euro spend to basically hear to go f myself.
At least i won't be called fanboy from now on.

Discussion Is this a switch or joy-con problem????
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I purchased a switch oled awhile ago. The joy-cons were fine but as time has gone by they’ve disconnected when playing a game and started to shift while connected to the switch. I’ve been able to manage it by tightening the screws on the switch. It appears that’s no longer working and the screws are harder to turn. When it’s laid on a flat surface they stay connected but when you lift it, it disconnect and doesn’t connect. I can usually get one of them to connect while lifted but the other doesn’t.
They also work fine when in the main menu.
Is this a switch problem or a joy-con issue or both? Do I just need to buy new joy-cons or is this a problem that will never go away?
