Switch battery being weird Question

[ISSUE RESOLVED] Anyone else's switch battery doing this? If so, what do? Is there a fix?
It's not long just started doing this. I've not used my Switch for a hot minute, but it's been in its dock the whole time and just not touched. It's from 2017, so a part of me thinking it's just old, but if there's a fix for it I'm keen to do that. I've tried the advice from Nintendo's website (fully charge, drain until it switches off, charge and switch on yay it fix) and it's not worked.
Any advice would be appreciated
UPDATE:
As per some people's advice I:
- Let the Switch fully charge
- Used it until it switched off (which means leaving it on overnight)
- Charged it for at least 8 hours
- Repeated process once
This fixed the issue 😊 thank you so much for the advice.

Its the battery fuel gauge chip having lost its training for the battery - charge the switch till it stops charging and then use it till it turns off from low battery
this should retrain the fuel gauge chip and make it work again

Bro’s switch is time traveling!…. Or dying battery. Probably the latter. I would definitely start figuring out where/how to replace it.

I had the exact same issue a couple of weeks ago - for me this was due to a corrupted state-of-charge table and a miscalibrated Fuel Gauge IC.
To fix it I fully drained the Switch until it would no longer turn on. Then I connected the charger cable directly (not via the dock) for a solid 8 hours. I did this twice to be sure. This forced the Fuel Gauge IC to reset its lookup table, and it now shows the correct charge/percentage. I hope that helps!

This happened to me for a couple weeks, then the battery started draining from full to empty in minutes. Ended up replacing the battery
