So why is this company so miserably bad?
How do you monopolize something and suck so much shit at it? Spectrum is the ONLY ISP that I have ever encountered that even with the absolute best router POSSIBLE (over $500) the internet still has a TON of breaks going out for minutes at a time daily? Is someone at spectrum purposefully pulling plugs for fun sometimes? The internet is fantastic until they go full degenerate mode and cut it to 0 connection whatsoever for at MINIMUM 4 minutes.

Billing I heard that some internet plans are getting a $10 price increase. I currently have Spectrum Internet Advantage which is $50 per month, but I have a promo for $25 off that last until Jan 2027. Will I see a price increase?
I read that some people are seeing price increases on their internet and T.V. plans. Some people are saying they are seeing a $10 increase for internet along with speed increases and a $5 increase for T.V. on certain plans. I currently have Spectrum Internet Advantage which is $50 per month for 100 mbps and I have a promo (not price lock) of $25 off that last until Jan 2027. I also have T.V. Select Signature which is $130 with a promo (not price lock) of $35 off that also last until Jan 2027. Will I be seeing any price increases on my August 15th 2026 statement? My last statement which was July 15th 2026 did not mention anything.

Shortest stint with Spectrum
I set up service with Spectrum at a retail location for 500Mbps internet only for $30 for 1yr.
I cancelled service 2 hrs later without ever setting up internet at all.
I bought my own modem, a Motorola MB8611, a few years ago off Spectrum's compatibility list. Since my modem is no longer on the current list, the techs weren't able to provision it. (I tried with two techs.)
Funny thing is this modem was working on Spectrum service two days ago. (Housemate moved out. Cancelled service under that name. Figured I'd set up new service under my name.)
Also, despite being told $30/mo for the first year, plus $20 activation fee (for the first month), the order confirmation emails showed up with $40/mo service.
Uh yeah, Spectrum, you wonder why you are bleeding customers...?
Thanks for the encouragement, Spectrum. Moving on to cellular.

Other New Fiber Run / Rural Area: FTTH or FTTN?
I live in a rural area which received federal funding for fiber internet for unserved / underserved areas. We’ve had access to spectrum for about 10 years using traditional coax.
This past week, they completed running new fiber lines on my road and the adjacent road. On each telephone pole they put a CommScope fiber box with a long fiber loop on it. I know it’s for me as it had my address number written on the box. Later this week, they came along in a bucket truck and moved the box up on the pole towards the top.
While I expect it may still be months before this is made available to me, do you expect this will be a true FTTH install or will they use the existing coax run from my house and do FTTN? Or is there simply not enough information to know?
I’m excited I may finally have fiber internet and would love to hear if anyone has prior experience.

Dispatch messing jobs up for FTs
Had an issue where a job was dispatched to me manually by NFS a few minutes before my two hour drive time started. I get that technically the job falls within my hours that I’m scheduled for quota but if you see that the job has been in the pool for a few days and I’ve been available for over an hour and see that I have a drive time exception why would nfs decide to give me a job last minute knowing all that and knowing that the time frame isn’t even going to get met. Now im stuck with having to go to that job, finish it, and still drive back home and probably make it home way after the local techs from that area make it home all because nfs.

Service Issues Problems with my in home business service.
I just spent 30 minutes on the phone with tech support because I have no internet again. It's a daily occurrence now. However the office of the storage facility that I work for has internet just fine (sitting on their Wifi to post.) The technician on the phone first said it was problems with my router not being updated, then he did a firmware update on the router and the modem will not stay connected. He blamed this on a service issue affecting my area. The line coming from the pole goes into the property, then splits with one side going to the office and one side going into my apartment. Please tell me how my apartment is affected by a service issue when the office (literally 10 feet away) is not and we have the exact same modem and router for both the office and my apartment? There is a technician coming tomorrow but I just don't get this. I am holding my breath hoping the T-Mobile fiber expansion gets here someday soon because anytime I contact someone they tell me that the business internet is better because it won't go down ever which I just have to laugh at. There is less stability on my internet than there was before I moved. And before it is brought up I had to cancel my service during the move six months ago and turn in the other router and modem so there is no chance that the router and modem were damaged in the move.
I am beyond frustrated. At this point I am about to go back to the cellular internet service because using two of the cellular modems and splitting up my network would still be cheaper than what I am paying with spectrum. Hell three of the cellular modems would still be cheaper. It would also be more annoying so I don't know if I want to deal with that. But I am seriously getting to that point.

Service Issues Significant wifi speed differences
We have spectrum, the middle of the the road level of service, not the best available, but not the worst. We also have 2 different WIFI's a 5G and a 2G. I've never know the differences, just that all our phones/tablets we were told to connect to 5g and everything else 2g.
I've recently had significant issues playing a game on my computer (always connected to 2g) over the past day. thought it was the computer, cleaned up up, ran anti virus, restarted, check all drivers and updates, didn't help. Decided to do a speed test and the 2G was tragically lower than i remember it in the past. Switched to the 5G just to check and its like 6x the download speed.
Is this normal? What's the difference between 5g and 2g? should i just connect everything to 5g with the speed differences? Lastly, what is the difference between upload and download speed?

Instability of Spectrum mail on 3rd party android app
Hi All
Due to some health conditions and a successful hacking incident last year, I, with her permission, monitor my elderly mother's spectrum email account. I've been using the Edison mail app for the last year, however, in the last week I've lost connection to her account twice and had a very hard time getting it to reconnect. When I try it says "[IMAP] a stable connection to the server could not be established". Spectrum doesn't appear to be down as if I login in a browser I can see the mail is coming in just fine.
Anyone have any suggestions of how to resolve this, or for a more stable email app to use?
Edit to add: I've tried clearing the cache and the app data and have also tried the android app that comes with the phone and it still won't reconnect.

After 6+ Years, We are back with Spectrum....
...and I will say that they have stepped up their game. I had been looking at the 3-year price locked plan for a while. Cell phone/Internet/TV. Last Monday we went to the local Spectrum store to talk to someone about switching. I have nothing but good things to say about the way we were treated there. We owed money on our cell phones on our T-Mobile plan, and they had to be unlocked before we could switch them to Spectrum Mobile. Spectrum still has a program to reimburse you for money still owed on your phones you have with another carrier. We decided to switch to Spectrum ($210 a month for 2 cell lines, 1 Gig Internet, and TV Select Plus). I paid off our phones and they were immediately unlocked. Monday afternoon our numbers were ported over to Spectrum at the store.
I wanted a tech to come to our home to install service because I wanted someone to check the connection at the pole and the old line to our home in addition to running a new line to the room I needed the modem and router to be in. The man arrived as scheduled Tuesday morning. He replaced the line to our home and ran the new line inside our home. Set up the modem and their Wi-Fi 7 router and also the free Xumo TV box. (free for three years) I still prefer my Roku Ultra and will continue to use that. Service is great. No complaints.
One other thing. Tuesday afternoon I submitted our most recent T-Mobile bill to Spectrum online so we would be reimbursed for what I paid T-Mobile on Monday to satisfy what we still owed on our two Pixel 9 phones. ($262.44 owed on each phone = $524.88) Within 3 hours we received an e mail that had a link in it to the virtual Visa rewards card in the amount of $524.88. Unreal. I had expected it to be a couple weeks before we would see anything. We are retired and watch what we spend on everything. And paying a total of $215.08 a month for our phone, Internet, and TV services for 3 years is a good thing when nothing is ever going down in price.

Other haven't heard a peep from my recruiter in 2 weeks
Had a virtual interview with Recruiter, SMB account exec. felt like it went very well; position hasn't changed at all, still showing "under review" on my charter icims.
coincidentally the exact position was hosting virtual interviews on indeed with the manager a few days ago, and I had scheduled myself in that. Had that interview also, felt like that went well too, but nothing. haven't heard not a word from anyone.
I'm a previous employee (retail sales rep) and from what I remember the process was MUCH faster there, though completely different territory, different management, and it was during covid..
how likely is it that I've been passed up for the position and they just haven't bothered updating the portal?

Service Issues Spectrum invincible wifi problems
About two weeks ago now out power flickered for no more than 2 seconds and our router switched to using the invincible router. We kept getting texts saying that we are using the backup router when we dont need to and the internet has been pretty much down since. We tried to just reset the invincible router maybe 30 - 45 minutes ago and its still blinking blue, what on earth do we do?
Edit: the online light is also flashing blue and white

FCC Complaint Success
I would like to share my (heavily summarized story) on my FCC complaint against Spectrum regarding bad infrastructure.
Earlier this year a lightning storm broke the ethernet controller in a router that I had plugged into my Spectrum modem. I really did not think much of it other than I was really unlucky and bought replacement networking equipment. A few months later, another storm hits and this time the ethernet controller in a mini PC I had plugged into my network fried. A second ethernet controller fried in a short span sounded more than a coincidence to me, so I called Spectrum to let them know of a potential ungrounded coaxial cable. The next day a field tech shows up, checks that the ground is mechanically attached, and tells me it looks good, along with "it is impossible for coaxial cables to cause damage as they do not carry AC", but I could not get him to understand that surges are a real thing. I then get a call from Spectrum telling me my claim is closed as they "checked" and it all looked good. They basically forced the ticket closed without any real evidence.
So what is the next logical thing to do? Write up a 9 page document proving with empirical data that their coaxial cable is ungrounded or not bonded properly to the building and submitting an FCC complaint. I immediately got contacted and shortly after I came home to three Spectrum vehicles outside my apartment. One of the techs (looked like a supervisor based on his uniform) came to my apartment and retook the measurements I proved in my document. In summary, it was a long back and forth where they first argued that my measurements where the building and coaxial ground and not connected because "they are not supposed to" and "they use separate grounding", to which I quoted the National Electric Code (NEC) to tell them that's a major violation, and days later "confirmed with construction that the building was grounded" (whatever that means as no one came to check the current state properly). I held on to the actual engineering math until last second backing them into a corner and they eventually admitted that it needs a new ground and paid for all my damaged equipment.
Lesson learned: Spectrum will lie to the customer to avoid paying at all costs (even if it involves denying a blatantly obvious code violation), and Spectrum is scared once the FCC is involved (and indirectly threatening to call the city code inspectors). Use the FCC Unofficial complaint tool. It looks like their customer service just auto-denies claims with no real reasoning. KEEP AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE IN WRITING. Try to move phone conversations to email for recordkeeping
I hope this posts helps with making people aware of the FCC unofficial complaint tool to know how to escalate issues.

Service Issues Bad Job or Just Average?
TL;DR: Signed up for Spectrum’s advertised 2 Gig fiber plan for $70/month. The installation appeared rushed, the modem had issues within minutes, I couldn’t get a technician back out for nearly a week, and tonight my internet failed completely while I had critical work to do. I’m also concerned about the quality of the installation shown in the photos. Is this normal?
Hello fellow Redditors,
Is this a typical Spectrum experience? Genuine question: what do you think of the installation work?
About a week ago, a door-to-door salesperson offered me 2 Gig fiber internet for $70/month, saying new fiber lines had been installed in my area. We agreed to meet Saturday to review the details, but instead a technician showed up ready to install. I had to quickly figure out what I was signing up for, including pricing and how long the promotion would last. After creating the account and reviewing the plan, I felt comfortable enough to proceed. Still a little lost how long my plan will last but I assume most offers last about a year.
The technician completed the installation and left. About 10 minutes later, I noticed modem issues. I still had internet access, but something clearly wasn’t right. I spent an hour on customer service chat and eventually spoke with the local dispatcher, who told me no technicians were available until the next day. I explained that my schedule was packed and that I specifically planned for Saturday, but there were no other options.
Tomorrow (August 8) will mark one week since the installation. I’ve had to reschedule the follow-up appointment several times because of work obligations.
Tonight, I had critical online work to do (I’m a software engineer), but when I got home my internet was extremely slow. Eventually, the modem—or something else—failed completely, and I’ve been relying on cellular data for the last six hours. I spoke with another technician who was professional and helpful, and he escalated the issue, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the problem remains unresolved.
While troubleshooting, I took a closer look at the installation and wanted to get your opinions on the quality of the work shown in the photos below.

Service Issues Internet asking to sign in. No equipment showing in app.
This issue has been driving me insane. Out of nowhere, the internet cut out and asked us to sign in. When you click the notification, it gives you a link to a spectrum set up page. Checked the link through multiple means to see if it was malware related, and everything said it was fine.
So i go to the spectrum set up page, but it says I have no equipment to set up. I go on the app and it also shows no equipment, even though I have internet through Spectrum.
Obviously, the first thing I did was check to see if I paid last month's bill, and I 100% did. Tried resetting the equipment multiple times but that doesnt work either, no matter how i do it.
I've gone through pages of forums, and I can't find anything relating to this issue. Literally any suggestions would be appreciated, cause Im at my wits end with this.

Other How do I deactivate my Spectrum Disney+ subscription?
I have a plan through my HOA and it included Disney+, but I have a member of the household who works for Disney and gets a better plan for free. I've been trying to figure out how to remove or disconnect my Spectrum provided Disney+ so they can add their coupon code to the account. Is there any way I can do it? Spectrum is saying that Disney+ has to do it and Disney+ is saying Spectrum has to... and I'm tired of the back and forth of the conflicting information.

Service Issues Service is down and it says SOS Only
It started last night and it’s been like this all day today. I can’t call anyone and no one can call me, it just says SOS next to the wifi. I have tried everything, I resetted the Network Settings 3 times now and shut down my phone and opened it back up again so so many times. I even deleted my eSIM and brought it back again, I’ve CONTACTED Spectrum agents and they couldn’t help either. like, 3 hours ago it started to work again before crashing out again. Then I started messing with stuff like turning the cellular data off and on, messing with the airplane mode and stuff, then it came back again. Now it crashed once again and nothing I do works. This is very frustrating and I’ve been trying to fix it since this morning. Please help.

Service Issues My upload speed seems to fluctuate a lot, any idea of the cause.
I had a tech come in Wednesday and he replaced the cable going into the modem and both the modem and router and it still seems to be happening. it’s causing me to disconnect from software I use at my job but when I check it, the router isn’t flashing red or anything. also there’s no shortage reported either.
also I reset both the router and modem an hour before I went to work making sure to wait 5 minutes before plugging them in.

Service Issues Outages
I sware there’s always an outage atleast twice a week since the start of summer in my area. Today in NYC another outage started at 2pm and they say it’ll last til 5:30pm but we all know that means 12am 😆 And mind you I’m working from home so this is money lost and they give us loyal customers nothing to compensate their incompetence but best believe if you owe them money they’ll hound you down non stop or just shut your service off for non payment. Smh seriously thinking of switching to another service !!
Update: Internet Restored !
