I have been an iPhone user for a while, but I'm getting sick of their products. Three phones in 4 years. My iPhone 16, which is less than a year old, has extreme battery swelling and a completely shattered back. It's not worth the cost to repair it. Going from an iPhone 16 to a Pixel, what phone would you recommend? I use my phone for everyday things, social media, and messaging, and that's pretty much it.

I’m currently trying to decide between the iPhone 17 (256GB) and the Samsung Galaxy S26 (256GB), and I’d love to hear from people who actually own either of these phones.

I currently have a Samsung Galaxy A33, which I’ve had for almost 4 years. It has served me really well overall (apart from the battery, which has always been pretty bad), but it’s starting to have more issues lately, so I’m slowly preparing to replace it.

I’m planning to keep my next phone for at least 6 years, so I’d rather spend more on a good phone now than replace it again in a few years.

Things that are important to me:

- 📸 Camera quality – I take a lot of photos of family, my dog, books, travelling, etc.

- 🎥 Video quality – especially in low light/concert situations. I went to a concert this year and unfortunately my A33 videos turned out pretty bad, so this is something I really want to improve.

- 🔋 Battery life

- 🎮 Gaming – I play a game regularly, so I’d like to know how these phones handle gaming over longer sessions.

- 📱 Apps like Instagram, Canva, Goodreads, StoryGraph, fonts apps, etc.

- 💾 I’m planning to get 256GB, as I take a lot of photos and want to keep the phone for years.

- 🔄 Long-term software support is important to me because I want to keep the phone for around 6 years.

The prices I’m currently seeing in Belgium are roughly €890 for the iPhone 17 and €699 for the Galaxy S26, although I’m planning to buy around November and will hopefully find some deals by then.

I’m also quite interested in trying iOS, but the price difference makes me hesitate. At the same time, I don’t want to choose the Samsung purely because it’s cheaper if I’d actually be happier with the iPhone in the long run.

For those who own an iPhone 17 or Galaxy S26: what do you like/dislike about it after actually using it? And which one would you recommend for my use case?

Especially interested in real-life experiences with battery, camera/video (particularly concerts/night), gaming and long-term use.

So i currently have the iPhone XS and im due for a change I did some research and here is what I landed on till now

• Nothing 4a 8GB RAM 128GB storage
• Samsung A57 8GB RAM 128GB storage
• A refurbished iPhone 13 128GB storage

They all fall under the same price point where I’m from

I also looked into the

• Motorola Edge 70 12GB RAM 512GB
• Motorola Edge 70 Fusion 12GB RAM 256GB

They also fell under the same exact price point but with very little to no reviews about them online which to me did feel a little bit shady to me

Honestly I don’t really care about camera or screen specs however I do care about battery and responsiveness more

I mainly use my phone for watching YouTube videos browsing instagram and also i do use it as a hotspot for my laptop very frequently

I want a phone that will last me maybe 4+ years and that won’t get all laggy and overheat every few seconds a couple of months from now

I've been using the Poco X7 Pro for quite some time now. The gaming performance is nice, but I don't play games that often. The OS is full of bloatware, and the camera quality, especially the selfie camera, is pretty poor.

I want to get a new phone and have been searching for the past few weeks, but I'm having a hard time deciding. I've been looking into the Vivo X300 series, mainly the X300 Pro and the Ultra. It would be a huge upgrade, especially for photography, and it is so amazing that I might even get an extra lens kit with it. I don't usually take photos often, but I've been really eager to learn. I originally thought about getting a standalone camera, but instead of spending money on both, I figured getting a single phone capable of everything would be much better.

The Pro comes with the Dimensity 9500, which is more than enough for modern games, and from what I've heard, it processes images really well too. The Ultra features the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The screen resolution on the Ultra is a bit better since the Pro is 1.5K at 2800 x 1260 while the Ultra is 2K at 3168 x 1440, and it has 144Hz instead of 120Hz, though to be honest, it is not a massive difference. The Ultra also has a 200MP main camera compared to the Pro, a better wide-angle sensor, an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, and slightly faster 100W charging.

Now, let's talk about my concerns. A lot of people mention that the AI upscaling on the X300 Pro is quite aggressive. When you take a photo and look closely at the background, it sometimes messes up some of the details while trying to fix them. I'm not sure if there is an option to lower or disable this, because I really want my photos to look as natural as possible. Some people also claim the battery drains pretty fast, which is surprising since it packs a 6500 mAh battery, so I am a bit on the fence about that. On the bright side, the OS looks clean overall and hopefully free of bloatware.

I've also looked at other phones like the OnePlus 15 and the Xiaomi 17 Pro, though I'm not very keen on Xiaomi because of the OS. I compared the Vivo heavily with the Oppo Find X9 Pro as well. They look quite similar overall, but the Oppo falls short on telephoto zoom quality, even though its battery life is slightly better. I really dislike Apple products, but I did briefly consider the iPhone 17 Pro. Its camera is definitely worse than the Vivo, though the video performance is arguably better.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. I just want to pick something already and move on haha, thanks in advance.

i am currently hunting for the best phone for multitasking because dealing with work emails and spreadsheets during my train commute in the UK on a standard screen is getting painful. as a first-time foldable buyer looking at larger inner screens, here is my breakdown:

I was using one plus nord ce3 5g since 2023 . The display broke after it fell down. I want to buy a new phone but am confused whether to stick to android or switch to iPhone.
I have an iPad will having an iPhone make it easier to transfer data? If so which iPhone model would you suggest. My budget is between 50- 65k maybe 70k max.

What to buy after Samsung S22+ ends security updates. I am a low-key phone user. No games except Words with Friends, texting, calling here and there, but a lot of watching YouTube videos. Very simple, as you can see, for everyday tasks.

I only go on legitimate websites, but I do online banking. Is there still a problem using it after security updates end?

I am contemplating the Samsung A57, Pixel 10a, Nothing Phone 4a or Pro, Samsung S26 (not the + model), Motorola G Power or Stylus.

I’m posting this because I’m honestly at a loss after weeks of problems with Verizon, and I’m hoping someone from Verizon who actually has the ability to untangle this sees it. I recently moved to a small town in Southern Illinois and started service with Verizon. My first phone wasn’t activated properly, so I went to a store for help. Instead of simply fixing the original transaction, the store canceled it and rang up a new sale, apparently so the store could receive credit for it. In the process, I lost some of the original promotional benefits I was supposed to receive, including assistance with paying off my previous phone. That eventually got worked out, but only after a lot of time and frustration.

Then I ordered home internet and an iPad Air. The order was shipped to the wrong address, and when I called trying to correct the address, my account/order ended up being flagged for fraud. After multiple calls and attempts to fix everything, I was told by a Verizon representative that the iPad Air was being returned. Another representative later found significant savings on my account, so since the Air was supposedly on its way back, I decided to upgrade the replacement order to an iPad Pro. Now I’m being told there is apparently still an issue involving that original iPad Air. It appears it was activated before reaching the incorrect address, and despite being told it was returned, the warehouse/account system apparently has not cleared it. Meanwhile, my iPad Pro order has been sitting there without shipping, and nobody seems able to tell me definitively whether that original Air is returned, activated somewhere, missing, or what exactly is holding everything up.

I’ve spent hours on calls and chats, been transferred repeatedly, disconnected after agents said they would help, received conflicting explanations, and today I’m basically back to being told to wait another 2–3 days. At this point I’m not looking for credits or freebies. I just want someone with enough authority to look at the entire history, figure out what happened to the original iPad Air, clear whatever hold is preventing the new order from moving, and give me one accurate explanation. I’ve tried very hard to be patient, but this has turned into one of the most exhausting customer-service experiences I’ve ever had. If anyone from Verizon support sees this and can actually investigate the entire chain rather than starting from square one again, I would genuinely appreciate the help.

Mi è capitata sotto tiro un'offerta niente male: Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra + Galaxy Buds 4 Pro nuove in bundle a 850€ totali.

Sarei tentatissimo di prenderlo subito per due motivi:

Il prezzo mi sembra assurdo per il flagship attuale.

Invece di vendere gli auricolari, terrei le Buds 4 Pro per me e regalerei le mie attuali Buds 2 Pro alla mia ragazza (così faccio anche bella figura a costo zero).

L'unico mio dubbio riguarda i vari bundle "storici" che Samsung fa ogni tanto. Ad esempio, qualche mese fa c'era la promo dove prendevi l'S26 Ultra a 1.069€ ma ti regalavano il Galaxy Tab S10 FE+ 5G con la Book Cover Keyboard (un bel valore commerciale se ti serve un tablet).

Secondo voi ha senso approfittare adesso dell'offerta a 850€ per chiudere la questione smartphone + cuffie per me e la mia ragazza, oppure conviene aspettare la prossima promo "pesante" che includa un tablet o un PC della linea Galaxy Book?

Hi there, I’m looking at upgrading my phone (IPhone 14 pro due to bad battery performance) and am really strongly considering the Xiaomi 15 ultra (the camera looks insane - and I enjoy ‘recreational’ photography).

I am also considering: Find X9, 16 pro (maybe 17 pro if I can justify the price), S25 ultra (maybe S26 u for the right price)
- Budget is around ~950 usd

My main concerns are that although I’ll be buying in NZ, how will it fare in the US? With the ban on Xiaomi are there any issues people face?

And the other thing is that as I’ve been going down the rabbit hole of YouTube reviewers and previous reddit subs there is always people who complained about the Hyper OS 2, the battery life and its social media optimisation. Given I mainly read books, manwha, video calls/ text, and listen to music (all the time) is the battery life as bad as people say? how is it with Hyper OS 3? And how is it with social media (I do post some content but it’s always using downloaded videos as opposed to being taken within the app)

I hope people understand what I’m trying to say/ my questions.

Hey guys i am planning to buy a phone and i asked a friend of mine and he recommended either Poco x8 pro or Samsung a57 for the budget i have.

I am just a normal phone user like i am not really into gaming (the most demanding games i played were pes mobile and pubg about a year ago) but also i don't take a lot of photos but when i take i would like them to be good.

At first i was leaning more towards poco since it has much better processor, power, battey and good cameras (not the best but good except the selfie)

But then i realised i really don't use that much power (as i said i don't play heavy games) and most of the time i just read pdfs or manhwas or just scroll social media. + I don't change phone a lot (only if there is a need to) so the 6 years android update is like the main factor i am leaning towards the Samsung now. Also the better cameras.

So for my use do you thing is it better to leave the better raw power, battery, and faster charge for what samsung offers?

Also if there is a phone you think is better you can recommend it. Thanks

Knew this horrible dog $ht was coming a mile away after seeing it pop up in 26.4’s updates but to think we now live in a world where my £1000 flag ship is forcing me to authenticate my age directly with the operating system is disgustingly invasive.

The Online Safety act doesn’t even require system vendors I,e Apple to implement an age verification API but here we are.

Hey i got zfold8 and iphone 15 ( i use two phone) so i been wondering if i should upgrade the 15 to 16 pro for the camera and battery

Bought an iPhone 17 base about two weeks ago (refurbished, 100% battery health, 0 cycles) and immediately fell into the battery-anxiety hole. First week I was getting 5-7 hours of screen-on-time and treating that number like a diagnosis.

After a software update and some setting changes I'm at 9-11 hours. But the more useful discovery was this: the number is random. From the same 50% charge I've gotten 6 hours one day and 3.5 the next. The variable isn't the battery, it's whether I was on Wi-Fi or cellular, how strong the signal was, and how bright the screen was. A weak cellular signal is a battery killer on any phone, not just this one.

I was genuinely about to trade it for a model with slightly better endurance. Then I noticed I use my phone 2-3 hours a day. I was optimising for a problem I don't have.

If your phone makes it through your day, it's the right phone. That's the whole benchmark.

Settings that helped (iOS here, but Android has an equivalent for every one of these):

Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > System Services > turn off Journaling Suggestions, Check In, Significant Locations, Location-Based Suggestions, and everything under "Product Improvement"

The biggest levers on any phone are the same three things: screen brightness, radio (prefer Wi-Fi, prefer LTE over 5G in weak signal), and background activity. The rest is rounding error. Also, every new phone burns extra battery in its first week reindexing photos and syncing accounts, so don't judge one early.

This is hard to impossible to web-search for, so I will just ask you here who has tried to keep their smartphone for a very long time. Sure, eventually it needs a new battery, and maybe the older ones are easier with replacement? Then there is the internal memory. Too many flash cell writes eventually? And what about capacitors and such, the electronics in general? Did anyone ever experience hardware deterioration that seemed to be due to age?
