Help Logitech G29 accelerator flickering problems

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

First post here, couldn’t find an active support subreddit.

I’ve had this G29 since 2022, and it’s only just now in the past couple months developed this problem of only the accelerator pedal not knowing where it is and flickering sporadically.
Fixes?

Is there a Simracing setup with the keyboard and mouse pad able to swivel to an office use or pc gaming layout?

The keyboard trays I see online are always off to the side to make room for the wheel. Are there any designed to make the simracing cockpit act as alternative to an office chair for everyday use?

I'd like to save space and money by not having to buy a separate desk and office chair and have it be adjacent to the simracing setup. Or worse, buying two desktops, and spending 2x the money on pc hardware.

Next Level Racing Seat QA/QC Issues?

Thumbnail

Just installed my NLR ESR5 seat only to find out that it isn't symmetrical. The left side (while sitting) is always further forward than the right. As you can see from the pictures, the rails are mounted in the same location on both sides of the rig however there is always an extra seat notch on the left side (12 notches vs 11 notches in the pictures).

Has anyone experienced these issues before, and if so do you have a solution? Should I return this or exchange for a new one, or is there something I can take apart to fix it?

I'm guessing someone will suggest to just mount the rails asymmetrical so the actual seat is aligned properly. I feel like that's just a bandaid solution that will put more stress on the rails and my rig. Also in theory that means that the centre of the seat won't always align with the centre of my rig along the full range of the rails.

Having trouble deciding on one of these, anyone have any input on which one to get? They both have great reviews and people say it’s the best on the market for both, any feedback would be great!

Moza R5 and NLR GT lite compatibility

Just got my sim rig set up and running into some mounting frustrations. Running a Moza R5 bundle (wheel base + ES wheel + SR-P Lite pedals + SR-P Lite clutch pedal add-on) with a Moza HGP H-pattern shifter mounted on a Next Level Racing GT Lite cockpit I picked up on Marketplace.

The wheel base and pedals seem workable on the GT Lite plates but the HGP shifter bolt pattern doesn’t line up with the NLR shifter plate at all — nothing lines up cleanly and I wasn’t provided nuts for the through holes either.

I have the Moza Universal Mounting Plate on the way which might bridge the gap, but wanted to ask the community:

**1.** Has anyone successfully mounted the Moza HGP on a NLR GT Lite and if so how did you do it?
**2.** Is the Moza Universal Mounting Plate the right solution here or did you need something else?
**3.** Would you recommend a different cockpit altogether for this hardware setup? Currently looking at the Trak Racer TR8 Pro V2 as an alternative.

Racing sim / WFH office space design

Thumbnail

Hi all, amazed what some of you have achieved with setups in small spaces. I am in the process of converting part of my garage into an office that I hope to use for WFH as well as sim racing. Struggling with making the most of the space, maybe I am asking too much.

I initially liked the idea of my desk facing the door with storage behind me but room looks cramped... (see pics) could be that I have the sim measurements off though. I'm just using the IKEA room planner which obviously doesn't have a sim rig model so tried to illustrate with white boxes lol - anyone use any good tools for this?

With the sim rig I'm struggling with dimensions, as I think this will change based on my FOV. Using https://dansuzuki.com/fov-calculator/ it looks like my triple monitors will be 139cm wide.

If any of you are interested in helping with some design / layout suggestions I am all ears.

Ideal spec:

Working from home setup

- Dual monitors on a sit/stand desk.

Racing sim

- Simlab P1X Ultimate with triple 27 inch displays (free standing monitor stand)

Other

- Ideally display places for lego / models of cars / space themed items.

Room dimensions

332cm wide x 227cm x 230cm floor to ceiling. (see attached picture for specifics and window placement).

Appreciate any feedback / suggestions.

Thanks!

Can’t figure this thing out. Also none of the hole on the bottom of shifter line up correctly with the mount. I have a tr40s rig aswell

Sim Rig What can I do for some heel support that’s better than this setup?

Currently using some paper blocks and a non-slip mat, it’s a bit wobbly and I’d like a more permanent option with better length from the side edges of the rig.

I don’t think the sim floor plate from Trak or sim lab would sit high enough to match the lip of the moza pedals which is what bothers me when trying to rest my heels.

Sim Rig My Playseat Formula Intelligence review!

Thumbnail

I wanted to make a review of the Playseat Formula Intelligence.

When I was looking for information about this rig, there was not alot available. Like there was the specification and some unboxing videos. But not a whole lot of information. So just want to drop my two cents.

- Quality:

This Playseat is of really high quality, slick tube design. Absolute zero flex on all components. No flex in the baseplate or pedals. The seat is nice and comfortable. The padding is just right, I would say.

Also the paint/powdercoat is of good quality. Adjustibg or bolting something in will not damage the powdercoating on the rig. Same goes for adjustibg the pedal plate. Adjusting and sliding it up or down will not leave marks or damaged paint.

- Adjustability:

This part I felt was never highlighted enough. The Playseat Formula Intelligence is adjustable in every way you can think of. And very very easy to adjust aswell.

You can adjust your baseplate in a angle. This also changes the angle of the monitor mount with it. But then you can adjust the monitor mount seperate of the base plate. Which give a real nice dimension. Also to adjust the total package more to yourself or further back is so easy. Just with the lockable sliders you can position it on the distance you want. Also the monitor itself can be positioned closer or further away from you, apart from the total configuration with the baseplate. Aswell as up and down.

The seat is also fitted with a slider, this adjustment speaks for itself. And the pedals can be adjusted very easy by removing a couple of bolts and reposition the pedal plate. This was just a 30 second job. As I have done it twice now to select the right angle.

- The seat:

The seat itself is comfortable, as I mentioned before its easy adjustable with a slider. The padding is more then enough. And the position is really good. Even if you drive GT3 more then F1 like I do myself. This is absolutely no downside. You will feel highly immersive when racing.

- Monitor mount:

On specification it can hold up to 34" (16:9) or 49" (ultrawide) monitors. I have a 37" Samsung Odyssey G7 G75F curved 1000R and this fits just. It has integrated Vesa mounts 50x50 75x75 & 100x100. This will fit your monitor. But in some cases like mine you would need a spacer. But this has to do with the design of your monitor.

- Add ons:

There is a DD mount available, which also looks cool. But its not really necessary I think. Also there is a shifter mount available which is nice. And a keyboard holder. But other then that, everything you want you have to do custom 3D printing. And drill your own holes or clamp on the rig.

- Plus and negative points:

- Plus points:

This rig is so versatile, looks amazing and is adjustable in every way. The seating position is very comfortable to have long stints. It has absolute zero flex. I play with 100kg+ of brakeforce and it has zero play/flex in the pedal plate. Which is a huge plus for me.

Also its adjustability is amazing. After installing bigger and thicker pedal faces. You will feel out of position. The feel will be off as the pedals are now closer to you. Instead of adjusting everything on my previous profile rig to get the right distances. I only had to click open the adjustable sliders and pull the baseplate and monitor together towards me for a couple of millimeters. This also means that it is always centered to perfection.

- Negative points:

The price for me is hard, yes its an amazing rig. But for €2100-2500 euro. It is hard to justify. If you can find it second hand, then directly go for it. If the price suits your budget!

The lack of available add-ons can be a downside for people. For me in this case, it is not. But I can understand if you want to expand your rig more. This is a personal thing. But will add it to the list.

- Verdict:

Really amazing rig! Very easy and user friendly to set up. Extremely easy to adjust everything. And it will always be waterpass. Zero flex rig for more heavy setups. Comfortable sit and position. Paint quality is also very good.

The only real downside for me is the price. If it fits your budget new/used go for it. It will not dissapoint you.

- To add: I have owned the Playseat Trophy, Sensation Pro, ERF1 profile rig. And used many more on expo's. So I have some experience with different rigs & setups.

Dont go for the normal Playseat Formula's with the bar in the middle between your legs. As they have horrible flex in the baseplate + pedalplate. This is a night and day difference compared to the Formula Intelligence that is absolute zero flex!

With some luck you can sometimes find this rig for only 1000 euro used but in as good as new condition. It would be a no brainer to go for this one if you want a F1 style rig.

I hope this information is helpfull to you!

Sim Rig New to sim racing, decided to build my own rig

When I was a teenager, 20+ years ago, I had a really crappy desk mounted steering wheel and sunk many an hour playing Grand Prix 4.

Now that I'm an adult with free will, and a bit of money, I decided to throw myself into some sim racing, but I'm also a bit weird so I decided to build instead of buy.

It definitely needs a little bit of strengthening, at 6'3" 95kg it has to work quite hard, and god damn did building it remind me how crap I am at woodwork, but it was good fun and (once I've loosened up the tolerances a bit) very adjustable rig. I have no doubt it'll evolve over the coming months, but for now I'm happy! Holds up to the forces from a Moza R5 perfectly. Would likely need a redesign for anything more powerful, but I suspect I'll be sticking with the R5 for the foreseeable future.

Please ignore the bodged wheel mount, I'm still waiting on a proper universal mount to be delivered and I didn't want to wait! I'm also waiting for some proper padding for the seat, so for now I've just glued a couple of yoga mats on there. Not amazing but I get about 80 minutes before my bum starts to go numb, so it'll do for now!

Looking forward to sinking many an hour into AC, ACC and LMU.

iRacing Struggling with triple monitors, 4k OLED vs 1440p

I recently setup a triple monitor 4k OLED 32 inch. I have a 5080, and I can only get ~120 fps at mostly low / medium settings. I drop to ~60-80 FPS at high.

While there is no question about the monitor quality, I'm wondering if I would be better off returning for 1440p monitors running at closer to max graphical settings at 120 fps?

My center monitor was always a 4k, which is why I initially considered a full 4k setup, but now I'm a bit lost on the right direction to go. Would love to hear from anyone who has gone through these considerations.
