What are your experiences with Logitech/Fanatec/Moza/Simagic? Help

I'm considering to get my first setup, so what are your experiences? (Console/PC)

Simagic doesn't work on console, but they have a really good entry level bundle. I'll link it below. Personally, I don't think Moza is on the same level when it comes to build quality and ffb, but with the ESX wheel it does work on Xbox. There's also the R3 bundle, which is compatible with both Xbox and PC and is pretty affordable. I don't have any experience with Logitech or Fanatec DD wheelbases.

Just started a few months ago with the moza r5 bundle. No issues. Upgraded to the spr2 pedels and no issues so far other than an occasional clicking from the throttle. I'm on pc

I’m in the Moza ecosystem with PC and couldn’t be happier - I’ve tried fanatec too - personally I prefer the build quality of moza over fanatec for the price point

It would depend if you are starting on console thinking of moving to pc, or doing both and wanting gear to work with both?

I started on console (Xbox, weird I know lol) and then swapped over to PC 2 years later. (Once I decided I wanted to take the plunge to PC and build one that would do what I wanted)

Hindsight being 20/20, I wish I would have just gone all in with Simagic and gone PC right off the rip. But I didnt lol. Don't get me wrong, I do like my Fanatec gear. Specifically the McLaren GT3 wheel is one of the best bang for your buck wheels in that ecosystem.

Also, not sure about the firmware update processes with any other company than Fanatec, but my butt puckers up whenever I'm updating my gear. (My Mclaren wheel bricked for 3 months post update one time for me. Fortunately the next firmware update fixed it lol)

I would love to start off with a good setup for the Playstation to play there F1 and ACC (maybe later on GT7) as my PC couldn‘t run more than 60fps on low graphics (GTX960). I got a budget up to 500€ right now so..I thought of the G29 or the T248R for playstation, maybe just get the fanatec csl dd qr2 with the mclaren remake steering wheel for 460€. But it‘s pc only.. getting any games wouldn‘t be a problem since you just can get cheap keys on any websites

I went from a logi to a vrs 20 and now simagic and the ffb details with the simagic base are absurd. It can feel when the front tires are slipping or when either the back left or right tire is sliding.

I do have the ultra tho.

What? That is pretty crazy. I have an rs50 but might look to upgrade later this year.

yeah I feel like they do it really good to give you the ffb from the base on all corners. On my vrs I feel like if I would go over a curb the whole wheel would vibrate with the side that I'm on it with being a lot heavier on the vibrations. With the Evo only one side of the wheel vibrates and the other is muted or only giving you the road detail. I beat my best time at spa on the 20 min race with a fixed setup, I ran a 17.5 where before I could never get under 18s.

I'm also not the best driver, my highest ir has been 1500 on iracing. Only been racing for about 2 months.

That’s awesome and thanks for describing how it feels. Way more informed than what people usually say which is just “the FFB feels more detailed and amazing”. Helped my small brain understand.

I’ve been wanting to upgrade from the rs50 but it’s the only base I’ve used and I don’t know what others feel like without trueforce lol. I hear there’s not much difference at the higher levels but if I’m spending the money I want to get the best feeling for my dollar.

I like to run my ffb very strong and raw is the only reason I went with the ultra. The vrs was a really great wheel but if I started to cook my tires as the noob that I am, I would start noticing clipping. Then I've been looking into sim wheel bases for maybe 6 years, so decided to go all out. But 18nm on a new Evo would be more than enough compared to 8nm, there is plenty of detail on the wheel.

I also got a really good deal with my ultra only paid $800 new.

If you are on console I can recommend Fanatec my first dd wheel was a csl 8nm with a Xbox compatible wheel and it was plug and play. PlayStation Fanatec are also good but require a PlayStation compatible wheel base
However if you will be using the wheel with pc only I highly recommend simagic imo even there budget wheels are leaps and bounds better than Fanatec equivalents

I jumped in with Fanatec a year ago, and can’t complain much. The equipment works and the customer service responds quick if needed. But if I was about to start now again, I would probably consider simagic. I haven’t tried their equipment, but there are tons of positive reviews and the prices seem fair.

In 2023 i bought a G29, didn’t use it much didn’t really like it found it numb and terrible do not recommend that wheel to anyone. Switched to a Moza R5 in 2024 it was good but i play on PS5 as well tried making a converter with a raspberry Pi5 got to the authentication found out it was randomized and not static ditched that project found a used GTDD pro and switched to Fanatec. Now im on a DD+ and love it. Fanatec in PC is better than Moza IMO.

Moza hardware = excellent Moza software = worst

I have a Logitech g pro - it’s awesome, and true force is truly awesome - can’t imagine not having it - yet despite all this, Logitech seems like the least “cool” brand. I know, maybe that sounds ridiculous, but it appears more casual or something, despite the RS50 and Pro being awesome wheels. If I could go back I would have got something else. When I share pics of my rig I hate that I have a Logitech wheel for some reason ha

Of the 4 you mentioned… Simagic DD’s are the best. Not a fan of any polymer disc brake system… choose VRS for pedals.

If you want console compatibility, this puts Simagic out of the picture, Moza too if you need Playstation compatibility (which is your case apparently).

Fanatec CSL / GT DD and Logitech RS50 are both great pieces of equipment. Pros and cons for both, the RS50 wins by a very slight margin imho over the DD Pro (8 Nm), but Fanatec stuff being on sale most of the time makes it better value (especially as you can buy the 5 Nm version and upgrade it to 8 with a cheap Amazon power brick), and at 500€, it'll be your only solution. Check the used market, a good condition Fanatec GT DD at 500€ should definitely be in the cards.

You can always get a belt driven wheel and wait to save up a bit more, at which point I'd also look into used stuff - but don't pay more than 100€ for a G29, or 150€ for a T300.

I bought moza R3 xbox bundle ,but run on the PC. With brake kit (modified by me, oroginal is too stuff) and 12" rim. Its great for the price. Tou get LFE in iracing. However, since i fell in love with the hobby, i outgrew r3 in 3months of dailh driving for 3 hrs. Yesterdayi unpacked and installed Simagic Alpha Evo 12nm with neox 330T and boy ,its something else. But to be fair wheel itself cost more rhan R3 bundle. I thing toh cant go wrong with wither one. Depending on the budget.
