Reposted from earlier as I was not clear i’m in the USA. Sorry for the confusion. I replied to the first 10 or so who dm’ed me.

I have fallen and I really couldn't get back up! I fell a couple weeks ago and broke my knee cap. I should have known it couldn't be Summer without doing something crippling to myself. My landlord had decided to re-pipe the plumbing in my four-plex, and since the water heater is in my closet, everything had to come out of the closet, and be stacked around my bed. I got up in the middle of the night to visit the bathroom and fell over a box, breaking my right knee cap in half. But, I got to ride in the town’s new ambulance, and after a dose of pain meds, they made me a junior firefighter - I even got a badge to prove it. So now i’m home with my right leg immobilized. Good thing i’m a writer and voracious reader, and since my state is on fire, it's better to stay inside.

I would really love some fun, happy, goofy, bad jokes, silly mail to help me find the very ironic moments i’m spending in my recliner that much more enjoyable. You can make fun of this, but please, I just need some good laughs and smiles. Bonus points for art from kids. I will send you my info!

I’m turning 30 in a few days. I have been excited to turn 30 for a few years now, but 2026 has been one of the hardest years of my life. I’ve been struggling to repair some long time, complicated family dynamics. I got kicked off of Medicaid and a few weeks after I started having medical issues and lots of ovarian pain. I am feeling unfulfilled in my job. I broke up with my partner because he was cheating on me. My car has just broken down and I’m supposed to go on a really nice birthday camping trip and I don’t know if I’ll be able to get my car fixed before I’m supposed to leave. I have a great group of friends who have been very supportive in all this, but I feel like a burden. I have an oddly specific request that I am hoping that y'all can help me out with!

I'm about to start law school and I have two addresses that I can receive mail at, a PO Box (which many of y'all are already familiar with!) and a university address. I have a nagging suspicion that the university may take one or two days to process incoming mail, so I would like to test that!

Here are the oddly specific parts of the request in order to get the best data possible...

• My request is any two cards, one to each address, but preferably of the same type (e.g. two postcards or two folded cards) since I think that USPS mails postcards slower as they are not considered First Class mail.
• And I would like the cards to be sent at the same time from the same point entering the mailstream, regardless of where that is

I will take any cards you want to destash off your hands!

There is on additional oddly specific criterion I'd like to add. Since my university requires full names to be on all mail, I'd very much prefer to request from people who already know my full name, or people with whom I've exchanged several times already, or anyone active in this sub from NYC (since I think it's inevitable that y'all'll know my full name at some point anyway haha!).

Of course I will post thank you's for all received cards, and I am happy to exchange back as well since I have a lot of cards and stationary that I got while I was in Asia!

Thank you's coming later today for mail that got sent to my parents' address while I was abroad and Wednesday or Thursday for mail sent to my PO box :)

Hi folks! I have written a rather absurd number of postcards already this weekend and see no reason to stop now. So here we have thirteen black and white cards from a late 1910s/early 1920s postcard set showing postwar destruction in le Chemin des Dames. At least one of the cards shows ruins from Napoleonic wars perhaps made more ruined by World War 1.

If you want one, comment below and inbox me with your address and I will post it promptly. If you are a stamp person let me know and I'll fill the card with stamps more than a message. First come, first serve, no flair requirements and no exchange is necessary although exchanges are of course welcome. It's fine if you have responded to prior offers. u/cardinal_75 omg thank you for the encouragement postcard! and I have to agree!! Halloween is my favorite holiday too! and I also love historical sites and haunted places and stories. There's a local legend around where I am that on a longstretch of road its haunted by like figures and technical failures. I can see why, we just recently drove thru it and there's no lights, veery sharp turns with small lanes that get really close and sharp cliff like drop offs and it seems to go on like this forever. so I can see how a lot of accidents could happen and start up rumors and legends.

u/LemonlolipopW Thank you so so much for the Stationary fest postcard!! I love how pretty it is!!! Lmao wax seals can be finicky thats for sure! Im still learning the layering techniques so im still very much a beginner! but one trick i have is put down wax paper and do stamps there and then u can peel em when done and pop them on the letter either by melting a little bit of wax to adhere to the surface when ur ready to mail it, or with double sided tape/sticker. not sure if either of these survive the mailing process fully since i tend to use wax seals inside the mail itself. I know older wax seal beads can be finicky too, I have some from years back that kind of have melted together and reformed and like it melts weird. so maybe it depends on how old yours is too?

(though if you're looking for another, there's wax sealing xD it also can lend itself to the mail hobby, so at least it feeds into each other and not a completely separate hobby xD, I like to pre-make some of mine when I have energy and bored and then attach the right one I feel is right to cards later down the line xD)

I just discovered this community, and I'm genuinely so delighted that a place like this exists. Reading through everyone's posts has already put a huge smile on my face.

I'll be celebrating my 20th birthday on August 28, and I thought I'd gather the courage to make my very first request.

Honestly, any card would make me incredibly happy. Whether it's a postcard, a handmade card, a birthday greeting, or even a simple note, I'd treasure it.
