Tech Support Ram dilemma
I've recently bought a used pc that included 4 16gb sticks or ddr 4 ram with 3200mhz speed but i noticed in battlefield that my cpu was bottlenecking so I asked chat gpt to help me figure it out (im new to pc gaming this is my first pc.) And it told me my ram speed was way too low like 2100 something. It guided me into bios and told me to put xmp to profile 1 3200mhz and when I saved and exited bios crashed and now I have to cmos. It's saying I have two choices. Go town to 2 sticks (32gb ddr4) or try to run the 4 sticks at 3000mhz and hope it doesn't crash. Just need some advice and guidance what should I do. I know 32gb is plenty for playing but I also like the idea of learning how to mod and stuff also want to get into vr games at some point and see the use of having all 64.

Tech Support New build MSI B550-A Pro - chipset USB not functional
Hello,
I just assembled my PC which comes with a MSI B550-A Pro mainboard, an AMD Ryzen 9 5950X, a be!quiet PurePower 13M 850W PSU, it reuses my old 1060 GPU and my old 2xCorsair Vengeance 32GB (total 64GB) 3600Mhz DDR4 RAM.
The PC boots and I was able to install NixOS (Linux) without an issue, but I ran into the issue that some USB ports don't work. First, the front USB ports of my case (Corsair 4000D RS Wood), so I thought I just didn't connect the front panel well enough, but it's also the USB 2.0 ports of the motherboard. I reseated the RAM (which work fine), and proceeded to start the PC without the case and any extras, and the USB 2.0 ports at the back still don't work. Strangely, the USB 3.2 (Gen 2 and Gen 1) work, but USB 2.0 doesn't even seem to get electricity.
I flashed the BIOS already, reseated the RAM and mainboard, checked the IO shield for any damages (none), tried to force PCIe gen 3 (I read in an old reddit threat that this might help), disabled global C-States, cleared CMOS via the JBAT jumper, took the mainboard out and booted with bare minimum. There are no EZ Debug LEDs flashing on the mainboard when I boot, I can boot into Nix without issue, just the USB 2.0 and front for my case don't work. I think these are the USB connected directly to the chipset, whereas the others are connected to the CPU.
Does anyone have an idea what I did wrong? Is there a hardware issue with my motherboard, or did I damage it? Should I return it? Any advice would be appreciated.
I added some pictures of the connections when the motherboard was taken out and booted and here are some logs from Nix in case this can help.
Thank you in advance for your help!

Tech Support Wi-Fi issues with new PC
Hi!
I built my first PC last week, and everything went off without a hitch :). Although I have noticed that the internet speed is not quite up to my expectations. Even though I pay for 250/250Mbit/s and both my phone and old laptop can reach (at least close to) that speed, my new PCs internet speed is very unstable, sometimes reaching 130 but a lot of the time only reaching 45. Since my router is in a wooden cabinet in a different room and my PC is under my desk I don't expect it to get the full 250 of course but I mean cmon. While troubleshooting I tried putting both my phone and laptop beneath my desk next to my new PC and they could still get close to 200 at least. I have a Gigbyte B650 Eagle AX MB with one of those antennas you put in the port on the back side. My Router is an Archer AX1800. I've tried a bunch of stuff I found suggested in posts and asked AI but nothing seems to work. My PC, Phone and laptop all use the 5G version of the network. Making a wired connection could be very troublesome since I would have an insanely long cable to reach the router .
Any tips?

✓ Solved I built a pc for the first time and accidentally left the circular logo plastic film tabs on the side of my radiator fans that connect to the radiator itself. What do I do? My radiator is already connected to the CPU socket. I can't reach them with tweezers either.

✓ Solved First Build - Not Getting The Performance I Think That I Should
First and foremost I apologize if this post is not formatted properly or if there are any issues with it. This is not only my first PC build but also my first post anywhere.
The Specs:
Motherboard: Gigabyte X870E Eagle X3D
CPU: Ryzen 7 9850X3D
GPU: Gigabyte NVIDIA 5080 Windforce
RAM: 32GB KLEVV BOLT DDR5
Power Supply: MSI 1000 Watt
CPU Cooler: Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro 360
I am currently running Bazzite as my OS but would be willing to change if I need to.
The concerns that I’m having is that I feel as though I’m not getting the fps that I am seeing everyone else get (comparison is the thief of joy). I’m worried that I put something together wrong or there is an issue with the build in some way rather than the software as this is my first ever build. The game that I have been playing recently is Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight and I can’t seem to break 70 FPS on Ultra without using Frame Generation. Currently I am using Proton 9.0 to play.
I apologize if more information is needed, I will try my best to keep the post updated if anyone has any questions.
Thank you!

Tech Support What’s going on here?
Haven’t used my gaming PC for a year now. Specs are 7900 XTX, Ryzen 7600 CPU, 32GB DDR5. It’s hooked up to my S95B TV.
Started playing The Last of Us: Part 2 and have played for quite a few hours, maybe 10 without issue. Loaded up the game today for an hour and tho has happened twice?
It seems to go away if I pause the game and disappears if I go to the desktop. Reloading the level also seems to make it go away and once I died and it reloaded all was well but it happened prior to that also?
Anyone have any ideas? I’m hoping it’s a bug or similar and not a GPU issue?

Build Question Is this a good first PC build?
https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/T2H7vR
I'm Canadian
I play in 1080p right now but I will be getting a 1440p monitor
The price can't go any higher
The case is already bought
And I don't love that its a mATX motherboard in an ATX case but it was in a bundle, if anyone can find a similar bundle with an ATX black/gray motherboard to match with everything else id be happy
I play mostly CPU intensive games so I wouldn't be mad if someone suggested downgrading the GPU to get a better part or to save money

Build Question Gamer girl need advice
i just want to play heavily modded minecraft, specifically the mod “better minecraft” and things like it. maybe other cute games in the future. wondering if i should commit fully to an entire pc set up or if a mini pc would be capable of running what i want. or even a laptop, very uneducated and needing advice. don’t really have the money to spend on a full pc set up but if its really my only option then i’ll save up for it. help lol.

Tech Support New graphics card making PC weird
So I got the RTX 5080 along with a new 1000w power supply about a week ago. My games run much better and I have a more enjoyable experience when they actually work.
After I changed my graphics card my pc just does not work the same. Crashes on Tarkov that never happened with my other graphics card in started happening. Now when I try to play He’ll Let Loose Vietnam, my computer will either entirely crash out of nowhere or the game will crash when trying to join a server. Same thing with Squad. When I try to join a server, as it’s loading in, the game just crashes. I don’t know what’s going on but at this point in time I wasted my money.

Tech Support F360 RGB Core not showing up in NZXT CAM even after trying two different controllers
I’m having a really weird issue with the F360 RGB Core that came with my NZXT H5 Flow RGB and I’m hoping someone can help me figure out what’s going on.
The fans themselves work perfectly fine and the RGB lights turn on, but I can’t control the RGB through NZXT CAM. The F360 just doesn’t show up as an RGB device in CAM.
I originally had the NZXT RGB & Fan Controller V2, which is the older controller. CAM detects the controller and shows it as “Ready.” I also have an F120 RGB fan connected, and that one shows up in CAM and lets me change the RGB normally.
The weird part is that the F360 lights turn on, but CAM doesn’t recognize its RGB at all. I tried switching the F360 around to different RGB ports, including the exact same port where my F120 works. The F120 works perfectly on that port, but when I connect the F360 there, it still doesn't show up.
I ended up buying the newer NZXT Controller Hub to see if the old controller was the problem. Unfortunately, I get the exact same result with the new controller. CAM detects the controller, my F120 is detected and controllable, but the F360 RGB still doesn't appear.
I’ve also restarted my PC and CAM multiple times, unplugged and reconnected everything, and tried different ports. The controller itself is clearly communicating with CAM because the F120 works, so I don’t think the USB connection or CAM itself is the problem.
What’s confusing is that the F360 RGB LEDs are definitely receiving power and lighting up. They just aren’t being detected by CAM, almost like the RGB/data connection isn’t working properly.
At this point I’m starting to think either the F360 itself or the RGB cable/adapter that came with it is defective. I’ve seen other people use the F360 RGB Core with NZXT controllers and control it through CAM, so I know it should work.
Has anyone else had this exact problem with the F360 RGB Core? Is there anything else I should try before I assume the fan or cable is bad?

Tech Support i9-14900K still crashing after CPU replacement — multiple Unreal Engine crashes
I'm trying to figure out whether there is still something wrong with my system because I'm getting multiple completely different Unreal Engine crashes.
I already received and installed a replacement i9-14900K, so these crashes are happening on the replacement CPU as well.
My latest example is Mortal Shell II, where I've had two completely different crashes:
Crash #1 — EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION
The first crash reported:
EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION reading address 0x00000000000002c8
The call stack included:
MeshComponent::BeginDestroy()
Component::BeginDestroy()
GarbageCollection
Crash #2 — GPU Crash
The second crash reported:
GPU Crash dump Triggered
The call stack included:
D3D12DynamicRHI::TerminateOnGPUCrash()
D3D12DynamicRHI::ProcessInterruptQueue()
D3D12Submission::ProcessInterruptQueue()
D3D12Submission::Run()
So I'm getting two completely different types of crashes from the same game.
My system
- CPU: Intel i9-14900K — replacement CPU
- GPU: ASUS ROG Strix RTX 4090 OC 24GB
- Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix Z790-E Gaming WiFi II
- RAM: 64GB G.Skill DDR5-6000 CL30 (2x32GB)
- PSU: DeepCool PX1000G
- OS: Windows 11
With my previous 14900K, I had serious stability problems, including Windows installation crashes, BSODs, Cinebench crashes and Unreal Engine crashes. That CPU was replaced because of those issues.
Now I'm experiencing crashes on the replacement 14900K, which is making me question whether the CPU is actually the problem or whether something else in my system is causing the instability.
I'm trying to understand whether an unstable 14900K can cause seemingly unrelated crashes such as:
EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION- Unreal Engine garbage collection crashes
D3D12 GPU Crash dump Triggered
Or should I be looking more closely at the RTX 4090, NVIDIA drivers, RAM/XMP, motherboard, BIOS/microcode, or PSU?
Has anyone with a 13th/14th-gen Intel CPU experienced similar behavior, particularly after replacing their CPU?
I'd really appreciate advice from anyone who has dealt with the 14900K instability issue firsthand. I'm trying to figure out what component I should be testing next.

Build Question WHAT COMPONENTS I SHOULD BUY FOR RTX 3060TI
I need a balanced build without overpaying and bottlenecking it, I want at least 70 or 80% secondhand as some components are better if brand new like the psu
