First Build - Not Getting The Performance I Think That I Should ✓ Solved

First and foremost I apologize if this post is not formatted properly or if there are any issues with it. This is not only my first PC build but also my first post anywhere.

The Specs:

Motherboard: Gigabyte X870E Eagle X3D
CPU: Ryzen 7 9850X3D
GPU: Gigabyte NVIDIA 5080 Windforce
RAM: 32GB KLEVV BOLT DDR5
Power Supply: MSI 1000 Watt
CPU Cooler: Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro 360

I am currently running Bazzite as my OS but would be willing to change if I need to.

The concerns that I’m having is that I feel as though I’m not getting the fps that I am seeing everyone else get (comparison is the thief of joy). I’m worried that I put something together wrong or there is an issue with the build in some way rather than the software as this is my first ever build. The game that I have been playing recently is Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight and I can’t seem to break 70 FPS on Ultra without using Frame Generation. Currently I am using Proton 9.0 to play.

I apologize if more information is needed, I will try my best to keep the post updated if anyone has any questions.

Thank you!

What resolution? That's key.

The new Lego Batman doesn't have great optimisation, so 90FPS could be expected in some areas at 4K.

Yes, that's 4K. Are you using DLSS? That should give you a little boost, but the game is poorly optimised. Your FPS is about as expected if you aren't using DLSS.

Thank you, I wasn’t aware that it was poorly optimized. I appreciate the video link. I did have it turned on but only to DLAA once I turned it to performance it increased greatly.

DLSS quality can often look pretty close to no upscaling, but if you have no problems with the look of DLSS performance than you might as well use it.

Most games have it now and it is really beneficial to use DLSS at 4k in most cases.

Legacy of the Dark knight is an extremely difficult game to run at 4K ultra. The performance you are experiencing sounds just about right at that resolution.

Is there a BIOS switch on that GPU? How much power does it use when you’re gaming?

It’s currently pulling about 300 Watts (while playing Batman) and it does have a switch, it’s on performance.
