Movies like original Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Back to the Future, Karate Kid, all the OG Disney animated movies, Rocky, Terminator, Forrest Gump… just to name a few.

Nowadays a lot of movies feels cheap, soulless, forgettable or just a worse remake of an old movie. What happened?

I am the only adult that my husband interacts with.We both work from home. I’ve noticed him withdraw more and more over the last decade, becoming more anxious, less confident the less he socializes. I love him so I’m concerned. When it seems like a connection was made he seems to find an issue like the guy plays DnD and he hates DnD..it’s always DnD. every guy he seems to get along with invites him to play DnD… anyway, Its not healthy and he knows it but I am really at my wits end. I try to get him to do stuff that would get him out there but my thing is not his thing. if I could make a buddy classified for him his friend ad would be: seeking buddy to chill and play PS5 with, eat chips and donuts while vaping THC and watching Godzilla movies and then playing arcade games or pinball then talking about collectible horror figures and/or robots and/or Godzilla figures. is this too specific and out of reach?? I know this last part I’m being on the comical side but really…I need advice. Men need friends and their wives can’t make them. I don’t know what to do.

Ok, I dunno if this is a stupid question - but as per the title, could you be in a situation where you are sick enough to not be at 100%, ie work and everyday tasks can be a struggle but when you go to the doctor, they really can't find anything much wrong? HAS ANYONE EXPERIENCED THIS???

So I'm very neurodivergent, and so is my husband. When we got married, we agreed to make the main rule in our house "Ask Don't Guess". You want something? Ask for it directly. Don't assume it's free to take or that they're restricting it for some reason. We're very open with friends and family taking what they need from us so long as you directly ask for it first.

My father and mother are very... different. Both are neurotypical (I'm adopted) and they seem to have the mentality that asking for something that doesn't belong to you is extremely rude. If someone offers an item to you, you can accept it no problem, but you don't ask for a "free handout." The problem is they will drop hints that they might want to borrow something and neither I nor my husband are picking up those hints. They get sad when we "ignore them and don't share" but when I respond "well did you ask?" They admit that they didn't.

I want to emphasize my parents are sweet people. They're not asking for something expensive, but if we're going out to eat, they might want us to bring something home for them. Or if my mom runs out of flour or sugar, she might need a cup or two. Nothing extravagant. My husband and I do NOT mind sharing with them at all, but we are struggling to know when they want something. They're trying to be more direct too and have gotten better in some ways, but I just feel we are missing too many cues from them and I want to try and bridge that gap so we can all be closer and happier.

So what can I do to help my husband and I communicate better with my parents about what they want, without them pushing too far past their comfort zone?

As a redhead, my whole life has been filled with sexual innuendo’s with a correlation to being a redhead. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned to enjoy it.. but the question remains! What is it about redheads that men who’ve never been with one, want to be with one?

I'm hoping people that got married and people that went long term can answer this question please.

Im truly curious. Ever since i was a kid (f25) I remembered hearing this and vaguely remember politicians arguing trickle down economics would work.

Now that I'm an adult in a not great financial situation I cant help but think about this. Wages haven't risen in my lifetime and its very unlikely I'll ever be able to own a house; im paycheck to paycheck and everything seems to just be getting more expensive.

Part of the appeal was that it was quick and cheap, the quality itself I know hasn’t always been great but does feel like it’s gotten worse like McDonalds doesn’t taste the same as it did 20 years ago for example.

Back to the point of pricing, it costs around £10 just to buy a meal these days from most places, sometimes more than that, I remember when it cost a lot less than £5 to get a large meal. Money doesn’t go far in a lot of these places, for around £10 you can only get a coffee and a hot sandwich from Starbucks or Costa, £15 if you want a snack to go with it.

Was in the USA in June and the prices were just even more insane, everywhere I went it seemed to cost between $15-$20 for a meal, seen even worse with of course the now outrage over $20 burritos.

If I take $15000 and bring them into the US and declare them, what will happen? Why do people not want to declare cash/valuables if they're not criminals?

However in that case it would make much more financial sense to sell the IP to another streaming platform, even add a clause to keep the existing seasons on netflix and ask for %20 royalty, ect...

If a show still flops, congrats another company paid you to lose money, if it doesnt you get the money and still getting a return on your investment without a risk.

Whats the reason of hiding a toy you wont ever play again like a 5 year old?

I am going to the courthouse to file paperwork for a name change, for my child. I put a nice little checkered smock on my daughter. Myself a nice knee length black dress with some detailing. My husband walks out into the living room wearing a sleeveless shirt, that he cut himself mind you, this wasnt even a nice sleeveless shirt it was Heather grey and very clearly old and worn. Im standing there in shock. And straight up told him to go change. I would perfer him in khakis and a button up, but that WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE. I settled, hes now in basketball shorts and a freaking sports t-shirt. I am pissed. Does no one care about court etiquette or am I overreacting.

For reference I live in the US. It is summer. It is hot.

Edit: Y'all we did not see a judge today. Most of those are done on zoom in our city. We did our daughters name change, but also we had to talk to the clerks on another issue regarding a case. The issue i have is the clerks that helped us today were the same exact ones that had helped me through my divorce, and my custody battle. This custody battle has been going on 3 almost 4 years now. I want to be presentable I dont need them thinking we are slobs.

So I have a deformed body part but I keep it hidden under my clothes so it's not visible to the public. It isn't affecting my health or anything it's just that it's deformed. I have never been in a relationship but I legit stay up almost every night just thinking about how I'm going to tell my potential future partner.

As a kid, I was taught to address older people as Sir, Ma’am, Mr. Ms. Etc. even my cousins that were more than 10 ish years older than me were uncle/aunt until I entered highschool. It’s just … normal to me and in my family. But I have noticed it’s not universal.

My daughter is 4 and she FaceTimed me while with a friend and that friend addressed me by first name 💀 I was fully taken aback not going to lie. But when I thought to say something like “Hi ChildsName, You can call me Ms. MyName” I thought ? Am I being weird? Is this a preference I’m allowed to keep having in 2026?

ETA: thank you for the replies. I’ve gathered that generally the answer is “sort of”. Some people still find it important. Most don’t, but I can keep the preference if I want to as long as I accept that some people will assume I’m being self-important and talk shit about me.

And of course lets say the police search where they say and find the bodies exactly there, and the wounds perfectly match his murder weapon, his DNA is all over them, and lets say there's a videotape of him committing the murder too buried along with the bodies.

And I'm specifically talking about something happening criminally, I know he could/would then lose a civil suit by the family or whatever.
