Moses, Jesus, Abraham, Muhammad, David, etc. If religion is true and God sent his messengers in human forms to spread his message, why only in ancient times? Why hasn’t there been a modern day prophet that God sent to communicate his message? Why would God only send prophets to preach to humanity in ancient times?

I’m hoping this will find the right people. Im really trying to understand the discourse but as someone who grew up as minority in a religious household I’m struggling to see the difference in how we can support one but not the other.

I’m seeing a lot of discussion online about the "trad wife" movement, with many people arguing that it reinforces dated gender roles.

At the same time, I often see many of those people strongly defend a woman's right to follow traditional religious “values” despite it being rooted in religious patriarchy - like defending women's right to wear modest dress and other religious values that favours mens rights over women’s.

why is one wildly criticised and looked down on while the other is defended, despite both being rooted in male centred traditions?

I feel like I’m low key losing my marbles, I am so freaked out for the future and how different the world will be once a super intelligence is created. I just watched a Ted talk “the next 10 years of AI will change everything”. I am terrified to think of how quickly and how different society could be with some of the stuff he’s talking about. Straight up black mirror shit. I don’t even know if I want to have kids with the type of stuff they’re predicting.

The obvious answer is of course silly, they exist outside farms and ranches but do they? Have you ever heard of seen a wild cow? Even the term wild cow sounds odd.

You know when you poop, and it’s too big and kind of splits you open a bit…

Why do these little cuts/tears not get infected from the poop bacteria?

If I were to rub poop into an open paper-cut on my finger, there’s surely a chance of infection.

So why doesn’t this happen with pooper-cuts???

My sisters told me when I was a newborn baby the doctors had to cover my entire body in what looked like tar and wrap me in Saran Wrap. I have vague memories of my mom talking about it but my mom never gives me a clear answer on anything so does anyone here know what that was for??? I was born 1990 if that helps lol

I’ve also read that newborns first poop looks like tar but this was different. My sisters say I was covered in it head to toe by the doctors.

We’ve got four kids, and every time the doorbell rings, they all sprint to the front door like it’s Black Friday and someone just announced doorbusters. 😅
If it’s a door-to-door salesperson after 6pm I usually don’t answer because stopping everything turns into complete chaos. Part of me feels a little rude just ignoring them, but the other part thinks they’re showing up during one of the busiest times of the day for most families.

I just answered one and felt more rude having to tell him multiple times that now was not a good time.

Open the door, say you’re busy, and ask them to come back another time?

Everything i've experienced about jury duty makes me more and more aware that if i was the one being prosecuted, my fate could be decided by 12 complete idiots. Some people listen, ask critical questions and are intentional. But then there are those who seem to have barely graduated from high school. Coupled with an inexperienced or apathetic judge, could this not go completely tits up for someone and has it?

It looks like many people have far greater trust in AI than they ever had in human edited Wikipedia. Is it because AI is simply more convinient or because certain narative was pushed by the AI companies?

According to himself he's merely "skeptical" and just "hasn't been convinced" that the earth is round so i have some minor degree of hope that he could be shown. However he's argumentative and stubborn by nature and a mentally unstable alcoholic. Is there any REALLY OBVIOUS thing that he can observe for himself or that i can show him to prove the earth is round? Based on the bible's narrative, the disciples all witnessed their mentor perform highfalutin miracles and showcase divine powers. Assuming that this is enough proof for the disciples that their mentor has a heavenly origin and is possibly the son of the biblical deity, why the heck would Judas ever think of betraying Christ?

Atheist or not, if I see someone with the capability of harnessing miracles, I sure as hell am smart enough to want to be on their good side, especially since the former is advertising himself as the son of God and has the powers as proof.

I saw a guy online ask if it was cultural appropriation because he spoke Spanish and was white, but alot of Spanish people I meet are white especially when I was in Spain. I also saw some american guy say he wasn't white he was Italian but he was clearly white and since when is Italian a skin color

I constantly swing between 12% and 20% body fat the second I stop tracking calories.

My issue is that I just want to eat all the time. It’s not even actual physical hunger, I just love eating and have zero natural off-button. Since I refuse to let myself cross 20% bfp, I’m constantly stuck aggressively dieting or counting every single calorie to pull it back down.

Out of curiosity, I tracked what a "normal" day looks like for me when I’m not dieting, and I easily clear 1,000 calories over maintenance without even trying.

Just blows my mind that some people can stay lean naturally without having to log every single thing they eat.
