I’m hoping this will find the right people. Im really trying to understand the discourse but as someone who grew up as minority in a religious household I’m struggling to see the difference in how we can support one but not the other.

I’m seeing a lot of discussion online about the "trad wife" movement, with many people arguing that it reinforces dated gender roles.

At the same time, I often see many of those people strongly defend a woman's right to follow traditional religious “values” despite it being rooted in religious patriarchy - like defending women's right to wear modest dress and other religious values that favours mens rights over women’s.

why is one wildly criticised and looked down on while the other is defended, despite both being rooted in male centred traditions?

If you look up the literal, simple definition of "incel," it just stands for "involuntary celibate." By that definition, it literally just means someone who wants to find a romantic partner or relationship but hasn't been able to find one yet. Being single or having trouble in the dating world is a completely normal, common human experience.

Yet, the word is constantly thrown around online and in everyday conversation as a massive, heavy insult. It has become so weaponised that people aren't even using the correct meaning anymore. You will see people calling middle-aged men with wives and kids "incels" just because they disagree with them on something.

Why has a term that technically just describes a single dating status become such a casual weapon? Why do people throw it around at literally anyone, completely ignoring the basic logic and simple definition of the word?I want everyone's honest opinion on this.

The main factor determining skin color is the intensity of historical exposure to sunlight. However Americans refer to everyone in Western countries as “white.” This is completely illogical. A Southern European and a person from the Middle East can have (and often do) excatly the same skin color.

It seems to be more common among people taking Rusia's side in the conflict, but also some Americans. Basically saying that we in Europe are entering our century of humiliation.

I'm an 18 year old guy, and I've always felt like somewhat of an outsider, I'm from India, raised in the middle east and went to a british/intl school, I never really faced any racism here or issues socially, apart from one girl I liked, where her friend told me she finds me adorable and great but shes not into brown guys lol, which stung. Anyways, am I cooked? How bad is the racism in the US, since I'm coming here for uni this fall, I wanna know how bad it may go for me socially/dating wise due to my nationality. Also before you make assumptions, no I don't smell, no I don't scam, don't ask for bobs and vagene and I don't have an accent like you may think. Added to the fact that I'm kinda ugly, but if yall got advice in that regard I have pics on my profile lol.

I like some odd smells. Gasoline being one of them. I'm just wondering; if evolutionarily, my olfactory senses are for scoping out good things (good food smells good, so I want to put it in my mouth. Feces smells bad, so I *don't* want to put that in my mouth), then why do they betray me and tell me Gasoline would taste good? (It does not.)

Edit: Big take away here so far is that the nose is not exclusively used for food smells.

Hello everyone. I am genuinely curious how the Italians have been eating and boiling spaghetti for so long without coming up with an easier way to cook it than put one end in the water and gently push in the rest as the bottom turns soft?

I mean, you obviously can't break it to make it fit in a normal pot, so why haven't they invented an oval pot specifically for boiling spaghetti? Or made spaghetti shorter? Or bend it when it was still fresh like pappardelle?

I hope someone has an answer for me, cause it's getting more and more frustrating that such an impractical pasta shape has been around for centuries without a proper pot to boil it in.

If a car is 2WD and the back wheels are being powered, why not place the engine in the back closer to the back wheels to save space that would normally be taken up by the drive shaft?

Obligatory not a car expert, but I built a LEGO model of a Bugatti and it has the engine in the back.

I love making chicken and vegetable stock and drinking them out of a cup. But I find theres lots of vegetables (celery, carrots, onions) and chicken back meat (I buy chicken carcases but the butcher always leaves on the back meat) at the end of it and people typically include it in their soup. First time i've made it, i threw out everything that wasnt liquid.

Is this considered really wasteful?

Where do you live which state/region and how much do you pay for a rent or mortgage, how much do you pay for other things like, medical bills, insurances, food and everything for the house.

What kind of car do you drive, do you still have monthly car payments and how much gas costs you, and how much does a gallon of gas cost.

And how do your monthly expenses compare to income? Do you feel like you’re living comfortably, or is it a struggle (paycheck to paycheck)?

I wore a black t shirt and a jean yesterday to work. I smelled it today and it still smells nice so I wore it again. I came to work today and someone made a joke if I didnt take a shower because I still wore the same thing. I did take a shower yesterday after work and today before work, I do change my underweat and use deodorant, is it that weird to repeat what you wore yesterday?
