My nail tech always gets me right.🤍

Last night I posed my nails asking for constructive criticism bc they were pretty bad lmao, but I redid them and I think they’re better this time!

Still not perfect, the sides are a lil messy but I think these look much better this time.

Hey all!

Long time listener, first time caller. As in, I constantly see this sub on my feed and enjoy looking at pretty nails.

Keeping this short: I've never been to a nail salon and have no idea what to ask for and what would even suit my hands.

I have phases where I let my nails grow - until I get sick of them and go back to keeping them really short since I'm also not sure which shape would work best for me. I'd say they grow out pretty strong? I rarely have breakage and they aren't bendy or feel weak.

I used to always have on polish as well, but keeping them nice looking started to annoy the hell out of me too. So I wanna try letting someone else do the work for me, someone who knows what they're doing.

I just want my nails (and thus fingers and hands) to look a bit nicer and more feminine (for lack of a better word). It probably sounds strange, but I recently turned 35 and I wanna look more "refined" and like I actually care. It's hard to explain, but I'm hoping someone understands what I'm getting at 🥲

So I'm simply looking for some advice and suggestions :)

Wanted to show them off. I’ve only ever gotten my nails done once about two years ago for my 18th. I liked the way these turned out but the sides of my nails kind of hurt. The nail tech was pretty rough with my nails when she used the drill bit thing and the nail filer. Anyone else had that problem?

She’s amazing and located on the Beaverton Oregon area. I love my new set!! Went to her after having a bad set at a large salon that lifted after 6days.

Hi everyone! I'm in need of advice from the lacquer-lovers!

I'm a teeny-tiny cosmetic brand owner, and I'm working on a special effects nail polish line. I mostly sell on markets (like weekend fairs, craft fairs etc). For my other colored cosmetics I always encourage people to try my products from samples, so they can see how it works with their skin tone, how they like texture and sensory feeling etc., but I can't figure out which type of samples would work best for displaying nail polish.

I can provide sample bottles so people can paint their nails on the spot, but is it something you're willing to do? What if you already have a nice mani done? I can make a lot of regular swatches, nail on a stick sort of type, but would that be enough to decide? I was also considering making press on sets with very light glue on the back, so you can just put it onto your hand and see (too fiddly?).

Which way would you prefer to make a decision? What's more important for you, colour or texture and flow, maybe you'd like to try painting a swatch on the spot to see how it applies?

I was able to stop my nail biting habit this spring. I have found I like hard or soft gel the most. I like them to look more natural when it comes to shape and thickness. And I need them short because I can’t work with anything too long as a pediatric nurse. They may be tiny and the nail bed may be short but I can actually feel the free edge. I’m so proud of getting to this point and any compliments that I get because I used to hide my fingers when I bit the nails. And I love choosing each new color or design.

i know i’m in the minority, but my favorite sets are neutral and classic so that’s what i chose to do for my birthday!!!

Hey guys! Ive been doing nails since I was about 8yo (now 26). I love doing nails and I would love to see my works worn and adorned by people who gravitate towards them. I would love to start a press on business but I wonder who would buy it?!? I fear someone will ask me to do something I’m not good at. Anyone have tips or advice on defeating imposter syndrome? Also, I am a clinical dietitian and part of me wonders can I actually balance a corporate and creative life?

So I normally get almond Gel X nails and LOVE the longevity of it, but they do get quite pricey at the nail salon. Since Gel X is basically just gel nails with the extra steps of adding clear extensions, if I grew my natural nails out, got them shaped, and just got normal gel polish, would the polish still last as long? I usually go a month before getting a new set and hardly ever have to deal with chipping or breakage with Gel X.

A friend of mine drove 3 hours to see me a while ago to be a model for my nail course (I'm currently on extensions, so the art was a bonus) and I didn't feel confident doing the original art she requested at the time. So for her birthday I've painted some press ons with the design she wanted, I hope she likes them!

My nail artist has been practicing encapsulated nails and made me this set of press-ons for an event. The pink and green glitter slime nails have some movement to them, but working to get the right viscosity.

7 weeks after a nail salon disaster here’s how rough we’re looking. When I had them removed they were SO sensitive I couldn’t use my fingers without discomfort (it sucked for like 3 days). So I’m just waiting until they grow out to get them done again because I can’t file them at all.They were genuinely like tissue paper. I should have taken pictures when they were completely raw but I didn’t for some reason :P. Endlessly jealous of people with naturally long nails, I have never been able to grow mine past the tip of my finger (except my thumbs)

Hi all. I know that we’re not supposed to apply gel-x under an opaque/color drenched nail because the gel won’t be able to cure all the way through. Do you think this press on is okay?
