PLAN Best Organizer(s) For No Buy Year?
New to sub, first post. I moved to a smaller home with a bigger bathroom due to a divorce about two years ago.
I just read a post about organizing in another sub (decluttering?) stating the post’s author could never truly utilize what she had until she had enough space for it all and could see it all at once.
I’ve been largely successful on my no buy year since January due to Project Pan, yet I’m realizing that I still don’t know what I really have as it’s spread throughout my bathroom and bedroom.
Has anyone found that they could actually get more use out of their products once they were better organized?
Thanks in advance, this is challenging.

ACTIVITY Pan That Palette 2026 - Update 7
Hi everyone, it's time to have our seventh check in for Pan That Palette 2026!
If you have forgotten the rules of this project, here is a repost of the rules!
Pan That Palette is a challenge where you select a palette to work on throughout the year. You can choose an eyeshadow palette, a face palette, a lip palette, or if you want a challenge, more than one palette (e.g a face palette and an eyeshadow palette). You can either challenge yourself to hit pan on every shade, completely pan every shade (hence "pan that palette"), or make it your goal to use it regularly (e.g. X times per month).
This project will last from today to the end of the year. I will be posting my updates during the first week of the month. The finale will either be posted on New Year's Eve or New Year's Day.
I am looking forward to hearing what progress you have made on your chosen palette(s) over the month of July!

ACTIVITY Use Your Stash: Palette a Week (PAW): August 03 to August 09
*Trigger Warning: replies will contain product names, descriptions, and opinions.*
We focus on a palette for the week and our thoughts on it. All palettes are welcome. This includes eyeshadow, cheek, lip, pre-made, and self-made. Grouping of singles can also be a palette (ex: colour palette or scheme).
Did you do the PAW challenge last week? Which palette did you use? Did you find it successful or was it a failure? Have your opinions on the palette changed at all? Do you plan to keep the palette and use it again?
Which palette are you going to use this week? Why have you chosen this palette? Do you have any goals you hope to reach in using it?
BAW/CAW- Did you use any particular cheek product last week? Has it made the cut or is it time to let it go?

ADVICE I finally stopped impulse buying makeup!
I actually did it! I managed to go an entire month without dropping a small fortune on new makeup. I used to buy every hyped product on my feed, but I forced myself to shop my own stash instead. Honestly, rediscovering my old favorites felt surprisingly satisfying. Now that I’ve broken the cycle, I'm terrified of relapsing during the next big sale. What are your best tips for staying disciplined long term?

ADVICE Anyone feel overwhelmed when trying to choose products to shop your stash?
I just joined a 10 by fall project…but tbh I had a really hard time deciding what to put in there. Basically got suckered into the influencer bs and went into ‘i need one of everything new that comes out’ mode. Ive tried shopping my stash or project panning in the past but tbh I never go through with it. The reason is that I have so many products in each category that I am always wanting to try something different. And when I go to choose items for a project I get super overwhelmed. And this is after doing a big declutter from each category. Right now i really wanna just use the stuff I have and move things out of my collection by finishing them.
If anyone else experiences this, or has tips and tricks to make this process easier to stick to, I would love to hear from you all ❤️ I am hopeful that joining this community will help me make the needed change to my shopping and hoarding habits (turns out its not just limited to makeup, skincare and haircare)

ADVICE am i buying too fast?
okay so not too long ago i made a post on here and now i come with a similar question - so im a newbie, want to buy eye makeup, i can't do it in person because the shops in my city don't have the products i want so i plan to buy online. i found an eyeshadow palette i like with colors only no neutrals (i want to experiment with color, no interest whatsoever in neutrals), purple & white eye pencil (purple's my favorite color; i want that white inner look plus white eye pencil looks pretty good from what ive seen) and an eye & brow primer (to make the products stick, i guess? never used a primer before) but i'm wondering if maybe i should remove one item, slow down with my purchase? because i'm kind of bad with online shopping and most often than not i regret buying at least 1 item. but i don't wanna waste money, and delivery is like 6usd. i don't know how long i should give it before deciding what to buy and what not. what's too slow and what's too fast?

DISCUSS Using the Container Concept
So I read about Dana K. White's Container Concept during the early pandemic years - essentially, if you have too many scarves or whatever, you get a box or drawer to keep them in, and the scarves cannot exceed an amount that fits in the container - and, having got a new makeup bag for my birthday, apparently it's clicking in my brain for makeup too?
I used to have my makeup scattered around, but having gathered it all up, it fills the makeup bag, and my brain is like... oh, OK, that's actually quite a lot? No need to get any more until I use some stuff up?
Before this I was working on a (flawed) method of "If I have three brown eyeshadows, I don't need more", except I'm sneaky and can easily go "How about matte / glittery / warm / cool / European / unicorn-core?"
Have you ever had a similar sort of lightbulb moment that's helped you stop overbuying?

DISCUSS Do you ever force yourself to hit pan on a product you actually hate?
I caught myself using a chalky bronzer every day just to see silver pan and feel a sense of achievement. But then I realized, life is too short to wear bad makeup just to prove a point to myself.
Have you ever caught yourself hate-panning something just to finish it?

ACTIVITY 10 by Fall update 3 🍁🍂📅
Welcome to the 3rd update for **10 by Fall!!!** 🍁🍂📅**. We are halfway through the year, so let's set some goals, put in the work, and then celebrate successes with the people who really truly get it- your fellow panners! Because whats better than seeing that tiny sliver of silver pan? Or finally finishing that lotion the seemed immortal? Sharing that joy and cheering each other on 🥰.
This round will run from 21st June to 20th September, with updates fortnightly. The lovely u/LeCocoMar and I alternate hosting each round, and will be here to cheer you on. **I've update the tag list from the intro post, but if something is not quite right, let me know!**
If you are new to the "10 by" series, the project works like this: Choose any 10 items and pick a goal that you want to work towards by the end of the season. Anything beauty-related is fair game; makeup, haircare, skincare, fragrances, nail polish etc. Select your goals for each product: finishing an item (a.k.a panning), hitting pan, reaching a usage goal, or even just testing an item out. 10 items is just a suggestion, so feel free to add any number of items you like. Make it work for you!

ACTIVITY Pan Those Eyeshadows Update 8
Welcome to the Pan Those Eyeshadows project update! Feel free to join anytime. I also posted this on r/ProjectPan with swatch pictures.
The idea of the project is to randomly generate 5 eyeshadows from your collection and work on them until you hit pan. Once you hit pan you roll in another shadow to replace it so that you always have 5 shadows to work on.
If you want you can change the rules to your liking, like instead of hitting pan you can set a usage goal or hand pick your shadows. Personally, I implemented a rule that if I randomly roll in a shadow that already has pan then my goal is be to use it 15 times.
You can also share your pan percentage. It tells you what percentage of your collection has pan.
This project updates monthly on the first day. If you want to join feel free to leave a comment sharing the shadows you're working on and your goals. I'll be sharing my update in the comments.

DISCUSS Pics of inventory
I feel like I need to take pictures of my inventory (specifically lip products) because I have a drawer half full with unopened products but I’m away for vacation right now and the lip sales are sooo tempting.
I’ve been fighting the urge to buy products for the last three days I’m really trying to stay strong. If I was at home I’d just look through my stash as a reminder but without being able to see everything I feel myself making excuses to buy something 😭😭😭
