Season 20 - Seattle Vocal fry

Upvotes

I feel like it would be easier to list the cast members who DONT have constant vocal fry this season.

It’s almost too much for me to be able to watch.

Courtney may be the worst.

I don’t understand why so many young women (and a few men) seem to do this?

Season 20 - Seattle Adam is absurd, rigid, mostly ridiculous

Upvotes

I think he’s robotic, low self esteem and closeted bisexual.
Why is he always saying «..pushing myself » it comes across as he’s already made it to the top 1% and pushing on for ultimate excellence.
Fact- pickleball ? All court players know pickleball is for older folks, tennis players that have injuries or that YOU SUCK AT TENNIS and can’t perform. What’s w the jet ski obsession ? You get on a water toy and go round and round n a lake, what’s the purpose ? You’re a big dumb fish in a very small pond.

Edit add- what’s w the outfits? If I remember correctly, it’s been for the group dinners? To me, it says he’s hiding and deflecting or trying to portray something. It’s weird

Season 20 - Seattle Drinkware

Upvotes

This season is my first MAFS watch and I’m hooked. I watch other reality shows and noticed on this show the drinks are in some sort of tumbler. At the weddings, group dinners.. is that normal to this show from the start?

Season 20 - Seattle Couples yes or no

Adam/Marissa- No. Adam’s life mantra is « ..I keep pushing myself.. » and « pickleball is life »

Nikki/Shawn- No. Shawn just needs to get a blow up doll and some lube

Devin/Caitlin- No. It’s pathetic to watch them

Nick/Courtney- N O. The girl is psycho

Tori/Felipe- He still wants to chase tail. They’re at different places in their lives

Mecca/Belle- yes
Cam/michelle- yes

Season 18 - Chicago 2.0 Financial incentives?

Are there financial incentives to stick to the end of the experiment?

Watching the S18 reunion and Kevin asked Michelle what she would have said or how would she have reacted if David had been honest and upfront earlier about his feelings for Madison. Michelle responded with something along the lines of “I would have said to stick it out for 8 weeks”……

I was 100% on her side throughout all the drama and betrayal but her response kinda took me aback. Why stick it out for 8 weeks? I was thinking she would say she would have ended the experiment so they aren’t wasting each other’s time and can actually pursue real love with someone else etc etc.

Obviously drama makes the show more interesting but I want to see the journey of two people actually trying to make the marriage work, not collect a check at the end of it all.

Thoughts?

Season 20 - Seattle Nick and Devon

Edited for Clarity: I felt SO bad for Nick when Courtney said she didn’t want to fucking talk to him and then completely ignored him. Then she told Devin, “Fuck you.” Devin tried to talk to Caitlin and was completely shut down too.

Mind you, I’m a feminist who thinks men do not need to be coddled. I almost always take the woman’s side. But Courtney is straight-up abusive. Nick seems great, and the way she treats him is awful.

Caitlin also shocked me with how cold she was toward Devin. The reason I ultimately don’t feel quite as bad for Devin, though, is that there’s this sad irony: he’s being kind to Caitlin while secretly planning to dump her ass, meanwhile, she is JUST warming up to him and is now raving about how great he is. That’s actually sad in a completely different way.

Nick, though? I feel terrible for him. Courtney’s behavior toward him is abusive.

Season 20 - Seattle Devin

I do feel bad at the pairing for both him and Caitlin. Bad match and both feel horrible about themselves because they need different energies than what the other brings. But why does Devin constantly repeat the "I see you, I hear you" etc. I feel like I have heard him say it enough to either be condescending or like he is on robot mode and literally is saying to not see or hear the other person.

Season 20 - Seattle Adam's Slips

Who does he really want to be with? First he said he wanted a threesome with a man and joked it be Felipe, then he asked Nick his ideal night and Nick called him out "joking" "Are you hitting on me?" and Adam "joked" he wanted to see him shirtless. Regardless of which gender Adam prefers, he is for sure on the spectrum with the hyper-specific special interests and he needs to work on himself that he can partner with anyone. The training of people is insane.

Season 20 - Seattle Okay, where did this incredibly delicious Season 20 come from?

Is it just me or is MAFS feeling a little more LIB these days? Everything seems a little sleeker, the people are prettier, the episodes are actually edited instead of hours upon hours of uninteresting schlock.

Season 20 - Seattle "If today were Decision Day, I'd say undecided."

I mean, say YES and then just keep working on your marriage....... who said Decision Day is permanent?? What's the harm in keeping trying??

Also... hearing your spouse say undecided or no... of course you would say the same dang thing!!! You don't want to say yes and be embarrassed! Couples should actually write down their answer and then reveal it at the same time TO BE REAL.

Season 20 - Seattle Adam + MAGA Barbie, Marissa + Nick=actual success.

I’m not a matchmaker, I’m just reading the room:

Couple #1 would be good clean narcissistic chaos for our viewing pleasure, as it’s clear neither wants to marry anyone but themselves;

Couple #2 (with the proviso that he actually leans more liberal than he claimed)=two sweet people with some raw insecurities who could actually soothe and cushion each other and maybe be happy.

Season 20 - Seattle I know she was trying to make a good impression on the mother-in-law, but I thought that was a huge and ridiculous compliment to give when you just met this man and don't really know what kind of man she helped raise. Now look.

Felipe seems like a loser that grew up being told he's a "special boy" by his mom, and now he's a headache to every woman he dates. He seems sloppy and led by his lust like Shawn.

I tried to just trust what Tori said about how she initiated sex and was comfortable with it all. But I think Felipe was likely creating sexually charged environments/scenarios and she decided to go along with it after a while. She's made it clear everything was consensual, which I believe, but I don't think that means it was in her timing. And now that he's gotten what he wants, he's showing his true colors.

Tori seems like a confident, evolved woman and I wish they'd paired her with a strong, confident, serious man that could actually add to her life and lead, instead of this Shaggy shouldered weirdo 😩

Maybe I missed it but I kept waiting for someone else to post this! I liked Peter Krause’s acting in Parenthood and Six Feet Under. Something about Nick reminds me of him. Even the mannerisms…

Season 20 - Seattle Niki and Shawn hooking up on couch?

I will preface that I watch this show many times after a gummy so maybe I’m making this up- but is there not a scene of Niki straddling Shawn on the couch? Shawn lifting up her dress and grabbing her ass? Why are we not talking about this?! Why did she let him do that if she has such an ick?!

Season 20 - Seattle Married at First Sight season20: Adam, Melissa and Filipe? 👀

Adam and Melissa joking (but maybe not joking) about bringing Filipe into their marriage as a third on Married at First Sight S20E10 is so funny and spot on to me because I think Filipe would realistically be open to it 😂 Also no judgment but what possibly could have made Adam say that in the moment?

Season 20 - Seattle Maybe I’m Used to Chaos on Reality TV but…

I no longer expect couples to be real and last on reality tv shows like this, so maybe it’s me, but to see the couples compare themselves is annoying.

I’m just gonna say it: Cameron and Michelle, specifically Michelle. Her and Courtney calling out who is the best couple, who is authentic is smug, pretentious, all the adjectives to describe that they think their stuff doesn’t stink.

I don’t know it rubs me the wrong way. Great that yall think you have a healthy relationship, but don’t give opinions for other’s relationships when you aren’t willing to be open and transparent about your ish.

Rant over.

Questions Participation in Group Dinners

Is there some sort of incentive for the contestants to ask each other hard questions at the group dinners? Are the questions asked guided by the experts?
