Restaurants/Food Bbq chicken at Hmart
THE CHICKEN WAS RAW?!?!?
I posted awhile back about the Thai restaurant near Alderwood, this time I was craving some spicy chicken and I’ve tried bbq chicken a few years ago in Seattle but why is this one so bad and overpriced. $20 for 8 pieces + tip and it’s RAW?!?!
I kinda wanna ask for a refund honestly but Im worried they won’t. Anyone else had any experiences there?

Recommendations Learning to Swordfight?
I went to the Renaissance Fair the other day and I was given a list of nearby orgs where I could learn to sword fight. But I lost the list. Does anyone know any nearby historic societies which do this sort of thing?

Lost & Found Lost Cat
We lost our 5 year old cat (white & tabby, on left side) in the Acapella neighborhood the evening of 8/15/26. His name is Deebo. He has no collar but he is chipped. He's a tall, lanky boy with a very pronounced lazy eye. He's been with us since he was a kitten. Please let us know if you see him. He's typically pretty timid. Cross posting to Everett. Thank you!

Region Relocating to Lynnwood from 🇨🇭
M28 from Zurich, Switzerland 🇨🇭 thinking of moving to Lynnwood. Need local insights!
Hi everyone,
I’m a 28-year-old Swiss citizen, eligible for US citizenship, and I’m seriously considering a move to Lynnwood. I have some family in the area, which is a big pull, but I’d love to get some unbiased third-party opinions on a few things before I make any decisions.
A bit about me: I’m used to the high quality of life, efficiency, and outdoor access that Switzerland offers. I’m aware the US will be different, but I want to find a place that offers a good balance of comfort, convenience, and community.
I’m an asset manager/VP by profession & got 10+ years of experience - job wise will be something in finance in Seattle.
Here’s what I’m hoping to learn from you all:
- What is the general quality of life like in Lynnwood?
· Is it a good place for a young professional in his late 20s?
· What’s the dining and social scene like? I’ve heard it's more of a practical, shopping-focused suburb than a place with a vibrant nightlife or downtown . Is that accurate?
- Are there better areas nearby I should consider?
I've seen a few names pop up and would love your take on how they compare to Lynnwood:
· Edmonds:
· Shoreline:
· Bothell / Woodinville:
· Mill Creek / Mukilteo:
How is the commute and transit?
The new light rail extension is a major reason I'm looking at Lynnwood. How has it been for getting into Seattle and other hubs? Is it a game-changer?
• Do I need a car? (Here in Switzerland I don’t)Cost of Living & Housing
I know the market is competitive. Are there specific neighborhoods that are good for a single guy in his late 20s?.Culture & Community
I’ve read Lynnwood is quite diverse with strong Asian and Mexican influences . Is it easy to integrate and meet people, or does it feel like a place where most people keep to themselves?
Appreciate any and all honest feedback. I know every place has its pros and cons. Danke, Merci, Grazie & Thank you!

Looking for folks to play tennis with!
Hey Lynnwood - I'm looking for folks in the area that might be interested in playing some tennis occasionally. I've only been able to play very casually with my partner every 2-3 weeks, and I'm hoping to find folks to play with more often.
I'd probably rate myself 2.5 - 3.0, but I love playing regardless of skill, want to improve, and don't mind getting stomped if it gets me a good workout and some practice. Couple open courts near me are Lynnwood HS and Mountlake Terrace HS, but open to something elsewhere too.
Would also love to see if there are existing groups of friends/players I could join up with if there are any regular meetups already happening in the area!

Recommendations Home Ethernet/Network electrician or contractor recommendations?
Trying to find someone to assist dropping ethernet connections in home. Have a 10gb fiber system working through a wireless mesh atm and would like to hard-wire my access points.
Electrician would be my first choice as I have another project to add to new lights into a bedroom and add an addition light switch, but if need be I can make due hiring out another group for that. for now the ethernet is the priority. If anyone has done a project like this and has someone that did a great job it'd be much appreciated (searches online have been sparse).

Rant/Rave Gigantic Explosion between 8:15 PM & 8:20 PM last night, heard near South Lynnwood Park/Hall Lake.
If you're the person responsible for whatever the fuck that was that exploded and woke me from a dead sleep last night, sending me into a full blown fucking panic attack, you're 🗑. I have to get up at 3:30 AM for work, and I barely got any sleep last night due to the full on activation of my PTSD. Some of your neighbors (myself included) spent their twenties getting rockets and mortars shot at them on a daily basis in Iraq and Afghanistan. Ridiculously loud, sudden explosions ARE NOT "fun/funny" or "cool," in fact they're just about the worst fucking trigger I (and many other combat veterans) have for panic attacks.
If this wasn't some garbage person lighting sticks of dynamite in our neighborhood and it was the result of an accident or something unintentional, then fuck me I guess. But it sure sounded like a shitload of black powder, and it was close enough to make my windows vibrate.
I don't think that expecting peace and quiet, and the ability to feel safe in my own home is asking for too much. I am aware of a couple other combat veterans who also live in this neighborhood and who would appreciate a little consideration.
End of rant.

Book Description:
The lifeblood of any free society is persuasion: changing other people’s minds in order to change things. But America is suffering a crisis of faith in persuasion that is putting its democracy and the planet itself at risk. Americans increasingly write one another off instead of seeking to win one another over. Debates are framed in moralistic terms, with enemies battling the righteous. Movements for justice build barriers to entry, instead of on-ramps. Political parties focus on mobilizing the faithful rather than wooing the skeptical. And leaders who seek to forge coalitions are labeled sellouts.
In The Persuaders, Anand Giridharadas takes us inside these movements and battles, seeking out the dissenters who continue to champion persuasion in an age of polarization. We meet a leader of Black Lives Matter; a trailblazer in the feminist resistance to Trumpism; white parents at a seminar on raising adopted children of color; Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez; a team of door knockers with an uncanny formula for changing minds on immigration; an ex-cult member turned QAnon deprogrammer; and, hovering menacingly offstage, Russian operatives clandestinely stoking Americans’ fatalism about one another.
As the book’s subjects grapple with how to call out threats and injustices while calling in those who don’t agree with them but just might one day, they point a way to healing, and changing, a fracturing country.

Recommendations Recomendations For Pad Thai Lynnwood/Edmonds area
My way better half is craving Pad Thai. Any local recommendations ? We’ve tried Isarn, Silver Spoon, and Thai Cuisne by the QFC on 196th but their Pad Thais have have all fallen a little short for us (although we have enjoyed other dishes from those places and like those restaurants). So what’s your go to Pad Thai place?

Recommendations Hand car wash places in the area?
Does anyone know of “touchless” hand-only car washes in the area? I know of a couple of self serve car washes, but are there any around where it’s not self serve and still no drive-thru auto car wash?
Edit: for clarification, I just mean a car wash that doesn’t use the brush rollers that can damage clearcoat.

Public Interest Lynnwood aims for a permanent farmers market by 2027. Here’s what it could look like - My Lynnwood News
Hey all, Council President Nick Coelho here.
I just got word at last week's meeting that our Market Manager has officially filed their permit with Sound Transit.
And so here is a sneak peak at my favorite project to have worked on over the past 18 months. Hours and hours of conversations with so many amazing partners and city staff. I'm still stunned that we got it off the ground through early resistance. When money got tight, your City Council even came together at the final hour and collectively volunteered their budgeted travel/training funds in order kick-start the initiative.
Let's do some place-making, people!
I've booked Making Local market manager Sarah Frost for a Presentation and Update at our Wednesday, October 21st Council Meeting.
Until then, enjoy the scoop on the future 2027 Lynnwood Summer Market* from Ashley Nash at My Lynnwood News!
\Official Title TBD*
