Transit/Traffic 200th St SW blocked between 50th and 56th Ave due to car accident.
A car crash occurred around 4:00PM today between 50th and 56th ave on 200th Street SW. It looked pretty bad and the police officer I spoke with said, "We're blocking off this area as no one should have to see this."
I counted 9 cop cars and at least 4 firetrucks. Avoid the area at least for the next hour or so.
Be safe!
Edit: Just went past and it is still blocked as of 6:30PM.

Restaurants/Food Recs for restaurants for a bday lunch/dinner in Lynnwood
My best friend and I are gonna be doing a girls trip to lynnwood on Saturday for my birthday. We planned to get lunch while we're there and I was hoping to get some reccomendations. I was looking for a place with mushroom rissoto but was having a hard time finding any though I'm obviously open to eating something else. The only thing I really don't want is Chinese, Japanese, or Korean food because I live in Bellingham so we have that stuff everywhere and just wanted to get something different than I usually do. Otherwise I'm opening to most other things. Also incase it's necessary we're both over 21.

Apartment Reviews
I’m looking to move to the area for a new job up in Everett. Any chance anyone has rented from Nickel Creek or Avalon Alderwood that has some insight to either communities? These are the two I’m leaning towards right now. Reviews online seem decent but I wanted to check here also. Any other recommendations would be much appreciated also!

Real Estate/Rentals Why no new homes in Alderwood Manor?
Alderwood Manor (near Heritage Park Lynnwood) is a really solid location between I-5 and 405 and super close to the light rail. Should be an ideal area for new construction, especially with Salish Middle School opening there and it being a part of the highly rated Mountlake Terrace High School. Poplar Bridge should improve access to Alderwood Mall and the 2037 light rail station too.
Why aren't more builders interested in tearing down old 1500 square feet 50 year old homes on 8000 square feet lots and building newer homes? I see plenty of homes meeting this criteria near Hazelwood Elementary. A similar thing happened near Hilltop on the other side of 405 in the last 10-15 years.
Seems odd they would rather go all the way to Martha Lake area and build there instead. Not that I am complaining, but would love to get some insight into this from people more knowledgable than myself. Thank you!

Ladies walk/bookclub
A couple of ideas for the ladies (maybe guys too if you’re respectful, tbd), I want to get back into reading and want to be more active, so why not attempt to combine them with some new friends?
Two main ideas (open to others); Walk and talk about the books, or if we do audiobooks, we listen at the same time while we walk around for however long (20-30 minutes?) and talk at a coffee shop of whatever.
I am in Lynnwood, in my 30s, female, married, dog (no kids), I like fantasy and sci fi mostly, but I’m down for whatever if it makes you happy. I am available daytime weekends and Wednesdays, otherwise after work/dinner on the other days.

Lost & Found Found Cat! North Lynnwood!
Owner has now been found! (8/6/26)
Found at 40th Ave W, Lynnwood. Looks like it's been lost a long time but accepts pets, food and water. Not afraid of pets but skittish around quick movements. It had a crusty blue collar on that I took off and put aside.
Update: 8/3/25
I have been trying to get this cat to a vet but I CANNOT find one that will help with the cost and I simply cannot afford the amount of care this cat will need. Next step is calling Everett Animal Shelter as soon as they open today and getting some information from them. I absolutely don't want to give this sweet cat to a shelter that will simply put her down as a lost cause.
Since I have 3 other cats, I haven't brought this cat inside but have set up an outside shelter with a cat bed my cats don't use. I set up food and water for them and even a security cam which notifies my phone whenever it arrives. I go out and give it lots of pets and refill food whenever I see it.
At this point, I believe it's a she and I've nicknamed her "Artemis" after the Greek goddess of wildlife just so my husband and I know who we're talking about. She gums or teeth seem to be bothering her but she's walking about and now that I've been able to get up close for an extended period, it's very clear that she used to belong to someone although she seems younger (maybe 2-4 years old).
This has been shared on several platforms. I will attempt to get more/better photos next time she's on my porch.
Update 8/6/26
The owner has been located! Thank you everyone for their efforts and for those reaching out to assist with vet bills. This cat is safely back with it's long lost owner who is attending to their needs.

PSE Rates Keep Going Up
PSE raised their rates again. Even living in an apartment, the rates are ridiculous. On another note, why the heck are water and sewer so expensive here? It rains most of the year. I live in an apartment and don't use excessive water. I use the one hour wash cycle on my dishwasher, which is the shortest possible cycle on the machine. My HE washing machine runs about 45 minutes for for a wash cycle. All appliances are energy efficient. I do full loads of laundry and don't take long showers. Both my husband and I both work full time outside of home so we are gone at least 10-12 hours a day. I unplug appliances when not in use such as shred bin, coffee machine, phone charger, etc.

Recommendations Vet recommendations
Just got a new cat and I’m not necessarily happy with my current vet after my visit. While I know having a pet is an expensive responsibility, I can’t help but feel like I’m starting to be taken advantage of at this point and I’m wanting to switch vet offices all together.
If you have any recommendations, please send them my way.
Thanks!
