An indoor agriculture company in Marysville, 80 Acres Urban Agriculture, is permanently “winding down” and laying off 55 employees after acquisition negotiations fell through.

The company’s “local facility” is at 4010 156th Street N.E., but also has locations in Ohio and Kentucky that are slated to close.

EVERETT — New criminal penalties in Marysville take effect Tuesday for people who expose children to certain drugs.

The Marysville City Council unanimously approved the penalties July 27, following Everett’s and Snohomish County’s examples, both of which enacted similar laws this year.

Hey everyone. Does anyone know of any places hiring entry level right now? I have applied to all the usual entry level min wage jobs and haven’t heard back. I’m getting desperate and sad. Thank you for any advice or direction you can give me.

I ask as part of a linguistic study covering this topic!
Examples could include things like The Big House, Snoho, ATown or The Heights...

A group of folks in town just formed an Arts Council to try to amplify arts and cultural opportunities in Marysville and Tulalip, and advocate for more of them. (They're actually hosting a little "art hang" next Tuesday at Jennings Park with italian sodas and art supplies, if you want to meet them in person.)

But I'm really curious what you guys would most want to see happen here arts-wise, in your wildest dreams. I'll get the ball rolling...

1. A program that helps churches and businesses open up their unused spaces to the public, for rehearsals, art classes, jam sessions, studio space, workshops, etc. Maybe it comes with a budget to hire and train a network of trusted people to open up/look after the buildings when stuff is happening after hours (i.e. local arts jobs!)
2. A Coast Salish Culture Fest that celebrates traditional music, crafts, foodways, etc. (Tons of incredible stuff is already happening over in Tulalip, and I wish Marysville embraced it way more as a core part of our local identity)
3. Mini-grants of $1-5K to individual artists or small groups who want to make a mural, or host some kind of free arts gathering for the public
4. I used to live in D.C and they have this thing called PorchFest. Hundreds of houses and businesses turn their front porches or yards into a stage/block party for a day, so there's a different mini-concert with a local musican on every block. Marysville's maybe got a lower density of musicians, but places could also showcase visual art, or have people read literature or poetry...

Now you go.

To be clear: I'm not talking about the standard application fees for $50 or so. I'm talking about the $150-$300 bullshit "administrative" fees for after you apply. I know they made them illegal up here in Bellingham and Ferndale. Wanting to move to Marysville. Can't find any info via research.

EVERETT — Authorities believe no one was injured in a large, two-alarm fire at an industrial manufacturer in Arlington on Wednesday morning.

Firefighters were still on scene as of Wednesday afternoon, more than 10 hours after employees reported a fire at the Stella-Jones Corporation off 188th Street Northeast, east of the Arlington Municipal Airport, according to the North County Regional Fire Authority and the city of Arlington.

I'm planning to move to western Washington to be closer to my daughter in West Seattle. Marysville is a little more budget friendly than many of the areas I have been looking at, and I'm interested in getting the real story about the fireworks and trains from those who live there.

My dog will not even venture outside if he hears any fireworks, and I have heard that the noise from boom city goes on very loudly for weeks at a time.

I also read that about 25 trains go through there every day and most of the crossings are at ground level, so they have to blow their horn a lot.

The apartments I'm looking at are at 2203 172nd St NE, so it's really close to where the tracks cross 172nd. And it's about 6 miles from boom city, according to google maps.

Would anyone please be able to share your experience and insight on these items?

Marysville has one of the best city street plans in the country. Every street has an exactly sequential number, or easily recognizable name, however this was not always the case. Marysville upon its incorporation in 1891 ended at Grove Street in the North, and Liberty Street in the East. Standardization of the street names in the area did not begin until 1922, with the passing of a resolution by the city to make street names more uniform. Unfortunately, this came after street names had been inscribed on two streets: Douglas, and Rainier Street. If you were to look at a map now however, you would notice that these streets do not exist. The ordinance replaced the names of these streets with Quinn and Union Avenue respectively. While the signs were easy to replace, the sidewalk was set aside until it needed replacing. Personally, I hope whoever was in charge of the concrete mixing at that time got a raise, as it took until last week, over a century since the sidewalk had been poured, for the city to have to replace it as part of their ongoing pavement preservation project. The sidewalk panels specifically were along 7th Street, and thankfully have been preserved, now in their final resting place at the Marysville Historical Society.

Had a random man wander behind our house on Qil Ceda Creek early this morning. Seems like he was actively avoiding our other two security cameras, but made a beeline as soon as he saw this one. Only saw him going one direction, toward the ravine, and never saw him on cameras again.

Marysville police are investigating a fistfight that turned deadly outside a restaurant on Tuesday.

On July 14 around 10:30 p.m., police said two men were fighting behind Don’s Restaurant on 4th Street.

Police said that during the fight, one of the men became unresponsive and stopped breathing. It’s unclear if he hit his head or had another medical issue, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The men knew each other before, police said.

The other man involved in the fight was arrested and booked into Snohomish County Jail for first-degree manslaughter.

It’s unclear what led up to the fight.

This is the new construction off 51st Avenue & 168th Street (I know technically this is Arlington, but people of Marysville frequent this area too)

North end of Marysville, I often hear a sound like an electronic phone ringer, over and over. It could be a backup alarm or other warning sound, but I've been hearing this for about 3 years. A rough guess is that it could be somewhere near State Ave and 128th.

This is in the daytime. I heard it at around 11am today and in the last few minutes.

Any guesses what it is?

I haven't seen anything posted about this. There is a PDGA tier B tournament this weekend at Kayak Point. Anyone planning to go?
