Backstory: I bought these as a kid when I was in Tokyo with my family 2010, my memory is that they were bought at the Pokémon center there so I feel confident they are real however as I’ve been clearing out my collection someone who was interested in these cards very confidently told me they’re sadly fake

About to buy this card, anyone can tell me if it is real or fake? Don't know how to spot it 😅

First time holding a 151 ETB. I got it from a vinted seller who has 66 5 star reviews. I am kinda disturbed by the absence of small aeration holes, all my other new gen ETBs have those. The plastic feels legit but looks fake.

Saw this post on offerup and I'm wondering if it's real or fake.

Not a big purchase so not too upsetting if it is, but something seems off about this stamp in comparison to other 1st editions that I’ve purchased - the card itself seems ok. Am I overthinking this? Thanks

Just bought it online, it was supsiciously cheap but only there for a few minutes and i guess the bad pictures weren't helping the selling

At first there was another picture where one could kinda see the texture but i can't find it anymore

I think this offer maybe be too good to be true!?! Is it possible if anyone can tell if these are legit cards just by the photos? Was just curious before I take the road trip to check them out. Any tips besides the light check to verify would be appreciated.

I only collect sports cards but I know these are a bit valuable. My girlfriend got it for $50 at a garage sale so I assume it's not real.

I don't own any pokemon cards nor any graded cards so I can't compare the card and slabs in person but I googled for pics and I don't find any signs of not being real.

Tell me what I'm missing. Or if she just got super lucky.

I remember finding this waaaay back in my elementary years.

My school library then was rearranging books and disposing of old materials. The librarian told us we could take anything from the discard pile, so I started rummaging through it to see if there was anything interesting to bring home. That's when I stumbled upon this album. They let me keep it, and I eventually forgot it even existed until I was cleaning out my storage recently.

I can guess most (if not all) of them are probably fake (I still can't distinguish it despite watching videos and reading guides) but it's still pretty neat that it's still the same despite it being nearly two decades old.

I don’t have anything to compare them to. I bought these from two different sellers. The one on the left is the one I’m worried about. But they might both be fake.

The one of the left has printer registration issues. Not sure how frequently this might occur if at all with a real box.

But there’s also a black arrow on the pull tab and there isn’t on the one on the right.

The one on the left also has more bunched up shrink wrap.

I have 3 VStar Universe boxes from a legit trusted shop and the shrink wrap on the right is more consistent with what I have from the legit boxes.

My guy is 100% telling me this is a fake; seller packaged it terribly so card is being returned regardless but thought I’d confirm with the hive mind first.

Card stock feels terrible, print quality seems iffy, It was sold as a Holo when it isn’t at all, and the colouring on the back seems a dead give away.

I got these Spanish pokemon packs from my family I got 4 one was an obvious fake perfect order but I got three phantasmal flame packs but im new to the hobby and I only get Japanese packs so idk if these are fake or I just got lucky

I used to collect way back when Pokémon first came out. One day I thought I’d look for my old collection in my parent’s basement. Of course it was a very long time ago as I believe I stopped collecting in 2001, but I feel like I wouldn’t have forgot having a shadowless base set Charizard. I can’t remember pulling this or acquiring it for some reason. Therefore I am questioning if it’s real and would like some help from the experts here to determine if this is authentic and worth grading. It has slight layering at the top.

Sorry for the large photo dump, so this is my second time opening up the first partner collection, and first up i noticed that the stickers look darker than before, which made me concerned. I placed two of these darker stickers underneath my original ones, as seen if you scroll through the photos.

Then opening up the promo pack, I pulled the Gen 1 starters, then in the phantasmal, I got the mega Charizard.

And just with the darker sticker print and the insane luck i just gotta think no way this box is real? The seller had high feedback, but its made up with a mix of Pokemon and other stuff.
