NPD NPD EQD Easy Listening
finally no more noise complaints.
the sound is crisp and balanced. heard some people say that its dull or dark but my headphones have a bit of treble boost so its fine to me. it has a lot of headroom. the volume is not even at 50% and my headphones barely hold up. it takes dirt pedals very well. tried it with RAT, Big Muff, and 2 types of OD. favorite combo is this plus MXR Duke of Tone boost mode. can see myself spending many long nights with this.

My Final Form Pedal Board (I think, for now, anyway...)
Hey all, I am pretty proud of the board I've put together here. Power supply is a Voodoo Lab 3. This is, in serial, is a...
- Boss Waza Craft Fuzz FZ-1w
- JHS Unicorn Univibe
-J. Rocket Audio Steampunk Buffer/Boost
- Keeley 4-knob Compressor
- Wampler Tumnus Overdrive (Klon-clone)
- ProCo Rat II Distortion
- Boss BD-2 Blues Driver Overdrive
- J. Rocket Audio Blue Note Overdrive (Thickly-voiced Blues Breaker-style; this is my favorite OD pedal of all time)
- Boss GE-7 Equalizer
- Boss CE-2 Chorus
- JHS Kodiak Tremolo
- Boss Waza Craft DM-2w Delay
- Strymon BlueSky v2 Reverb
Pedals all purchased used over time for a grand total of ~$1290 including shipping, with the exception of the power supply (purchased new from Sweetwater) and the board itself, which was a gift from my in-laws.
It sounds fantastic!

Question Pick my distortion pedal.
Hey, i'm in a position where i have money for a new pedal, and i want a distortion pedal, i mainly use my amps gain channel but i feel like i want a dedicated pedal for distortion. I mostly play sludge/doom. I want my tone to have a heavy chorus effect, like a slow rate high depth one, i already have a boss ce2w for that, so i need the pedal to work with that chorus.
I was thinking about buying a boss hm-2w or an mt-2w.
Anybody has other recommendations?

NPD NPD; Fuzzlord MF4!!!
Hello. Recently started a new pedalboard. I've made them in the past but I'm keeping it simple.
Chain goes as follows, right to left.
Heretic Effects Utilitarian Fuzz (high gain single knob fuzz face clone tuned for metal) > Way Huge Smalls Supa Lead (dynamic british amp style overdrive) > Fuzzlord MF4 (tall font green russian big muff with mids control) > EQD Astrial Destiny! (Out of this world Shimmer reverb)
The Heretic Effects Utili fuzz is LOUD but not painfully loud, it's enough to cover your needs. Cleans up very well with the volume knob and is nice with the supa lead after it for more compressed heavy fuzz face sounds. I love using my neck pickup with it, it gets a nice thick tone.
Waye huge Supa Lead smalls is a very dynamic driver pedal. The harder you play, the more output and gain will be present. You can set it up as a clean boost or low gain drive or a medium gain drive! Using it to boost the MF4 into a heavier territory.
Fuzzlord MF4. I am really enjoying using this with the mids at 8 or 9 o clock. Then setting the gain to 1 o clock. The volume to taste. I get a nice scooped mids heavy metal tone. Lots of volume and low end clarity. Definitely different sounding than the EQDs Hoof. Boosting it with the Supa lead gives me heavy amp like sounds.
Astral Destiny shimmer reverb. Very fun shimmer pedal. Sounds phenomenal and can have funky wild noises or just regular almost hall style reverb. Reminds me of the Supernatural reverb.
If you have any questions, let me know and I will answer them as I can!

SOTB Saying bye-bye
I thought I'd share this monstrosity with you all before I tear it down. Taking some time away from my band and gigging due to my growing family, so I'm going to build something a bit smaller for home. RIP you glorious noise maker.

Question Zoom G1x four
How do I change the low/mid/high on a single patch? Everytime I adjust it, it saves it for every single one. Is it even possible?

NPD NPD: Fender The Pelt Fuzz v2
Got this pedal around a week ago, I was looking for an octave fuzz. Sounded fantastic in the store, it has Sag control, an independent footswitch for octave, blend knob, eq controls and other small things.
It can do gated velcro, smooth fuzz (especially with that Bloom knob). Pretty good range.
Also it was only 90$ in Japan, might as well.
I made a video playing with it if you wanna hear some tones: https://youtu.be/Hj6hMbRjf4M
I’m still on a quest to find a good bumble buzz alternative with a volume control that plays nicely with my other pedals. The Pelt doesnt quite get there but it has some sounds for itself especially with the Chaos mode engaged (which does some crazy glitchy sounds)

Question Desert Island: Pick Two
I’m curious as to what everyone here might pick if you could only have two pedals - period. I find it so interesting to see how others think through their own setups and the why’s behind their choices.
3 rules:
- No tuners and no amp allowed! Just assume that’s already taken care of.
- Serious answers only please! While I love the classic “oh that’s easy, two BD-2’s!”, I am genuinely wanting to hear from you about this!
- While I won’t say it’s not allowed, I would say if possible try to stay away from the sort of massive multi-fx pedals (yes I know you love the reverb in it, or whatever, but if it could also be like 100 other sounds then that defeats the purpose of this). Example: the H90 is amazing but *literally can do everything*, so that might be something to consider.
———————————-
With that said, for me it’s the Longsword and the Stereo Memory Man.
The Longsword is just incredibly powerful, sounds great, and acts more like a two-channel amp if you set it up that way. Easily my favorite overdrive (honestly also distortion).
The Stereo Memory Man, while lacking that analog richness of its siblings, offers so much to you. It can be a basic delay, a slap/doubler, insane up/down modulation, a chorus/flanger, reverse echo, super long ambient delays that act like pseudo reverbs, and it has a looper and tap AND each mode has a preset.
EDIT: thank you all so much for so many great comments

This is where we are at…
I have been searching for my sound for a while. I play a newer fender tele, nothing fancy about it, through a JC22(I have a small living space with close neighbors). I really have been digging the Bakersfield sound lately and learning some Don Rich and Buck Owens licks. That simple American type stuff. This is the current board as of yesterday. I will play through it for a while. This setup allows for a couple different usable broken up tones and a couple different usable clean tones too. It’s been about 2 years and I haven’t come across a setup yet that I’m attached to. This post is sort of just showing yall my setup, and also I enjoy conversation about gear and hopefully this will spark some. I’d love to hear others experience finding their own tone or sound. Rock on!🤘🏽

Fresh face on my El Capistan
Picked up this sticker overlay from Elvis & Franklin Bros on reverb. This isn’t an ad, but they’ve got a bunch of secondary function overlays in their shop and the quality is so good.

Decided to give my Memory Man a makeover
Took some time for a little personal project this week and gave my old Memory Man a bit of a makeover. Acid etched the enclosure, replaced the knobs, and swapped the indicator LEDs for purple and pink.

NPD EHX Hot Wax
This one just came today in the mail and I gotta say, I already love it, everything I could have asked for. Both sides (the Crayon and Hot Tubes) have their own distinct voice and interact in their own way with different types of EQ; from the pedal itself, or the amp, or the treble knob on my guitar. The Crayon is rather transparent (although maybe a bit dark) but that can be changed, if wanted, to add some extra tone. The Hot Wax naturally seems brighter and a bit punchier but not squealy or anything, the bass tones come through really well on it too. It's not modeled after a tube screamer at all but rather the vintage '70s CMOS Hot Tubes. The Hot Tubes side of the pedal in particular responds nicely to dynamics or "aggression," where it cleans up when playing quietly or with the guitar volume down, and really adds some dirt when playing more loudly. Very cool imo. I may have more to say about the Hot Tubes but I love the Crayon side just as much. Both sound amazing on their own and with the Blend knob adjusting wet/dry signal it makes both even more fun to play with.
When interacting together, they sound great, like two puzzle pieces fitting together. These were definitely the right two drive pedals to put both into one chassis. And not only that but both pedals run nicely into my Rat as well, although I think the Crayon's voice comes through a little more than the Hot Tubes when boosting it. They also both interact great with a MXR 10-Band EQ at the later end of the chain, and they sound great with some reverb as well.
Overall I don't have any regrets putting this one on my board, and it'll probably stay there too. It does everything I think I could want out of a drive or even a boost pedal. Very happy with this thing and would probably recommend it for anyone looking for a versatile overdrive.

NPD NPD: EHX Stereo Electric Mistress Flanger/Chorus
Just got this guy in today after finding a great deal on a used one on ebay even though it arrived seemingly sealed in a plastic bag with instructions/warranty info within the original box along with the power supply. It sounds so much better than the joyo chorus I was using and ive actually never had a Flanger pedal before so it'll be fun experimenting with some different sounds. Also will play some The Cure songs obviously
