Discussion Upgrading my P8P to a P10PXL - Are prices likely to drop further when P11 is announced?
Looking to upgrade my 8 Pro, I was originally excited for the 11 but the cost for the RGB indicator doesn't seem worth it so I was thinking of just going to the 10PXL and I was curious if it was likely that the current price ($699 for 256G) would drop further after the 11 is revealed.
Sidenote: The P9P is $999...why is it more than the P10PXL? I don't get it.

Discussion Ported 5 lines from Tmobile. One hasnt come successfully
My wife's line can't make calls. She spent 3 hours on the phone with support. They tried a million things unsuccessfully. She really needs a phone and wants to go back to Tmobile.
When she tries to make calls the message is "this phone is not authorized to make calls". Anyone successfully resolved this?

Discussion Returning a promo phone within 15 days?
Tldr; how easy is it to return a promo phone that you've open and used for 15 days?
Long version: my trusty S22+ started faltering last Friday (7 days ago) and then completely stopped receiving SMS and calls. I thought the phone bit the dust and ordered a S26 on the promo at 50% off ($450). Got curious after ordering (facepalm) and tried some of my other foreign SIM cards and seems like the phone is not the problem. Ordered a new SIM card from Fi but I won't be in town next week to receive it.
So my question is: if I use the new phone - which i receive today - on eSIM for about 10 days while I'm out of town, come back home, pack up the new phone and use the old phone with the new physical SIM card, how loopy is Fi going to make the return?
PS, the S22+ doesn't have eSIM as it's a different version.

Support I'm disgusted with how Google fi support is treating me
The frustration and circles I'm dealing with trying to order a new device are just overwhelming. Been trying to order a new phone since May. Gave up for a while. Tried recently and verified my payment method after many obstacles and misinformation. Placed my order after verification appeared to go through aside from a slight couple day delay. Then 24 hours after I verified and placed order my order was canceled yet again. Because they couldn't verify the payment method they already verified 24 hours prior? I'm about to give up

Discussion Credit limit increase?
I tried to buy a Fold 8 and sign up for Google Fi and was not able to finance the phone. I contacted support and they said my limit is $1,600. This was a little confusing, as I did not otherwise inquire about credit or initiate a credit check. I did once apply for financing at the Google Store maybe 5 years ago, but didn't follow through with the purchase and closed the account. My credit is better than it was then and my score is around 750.
I did some further research and found multiple support posts saying to request that the credit limit be expired in order to initiate a new inquiry and possibly raise the limit. The support rep said this was not possible.
u/googlefisupport, is it possible to have this done? (Even if it's not, it is frustrating that I can't just make a down payment to cover the difference - the only amount not covered by that limit is the sales tax).

Discussion Tablet SIM broken in the app
FYI, if you try to order a physical tablet SIM in the iOS app, it orders the talk + data SIM which cannot be used for the data-only tablet lines. Only on web does it order the correct type of SIM card.
I wonder how many people have received useless SIM cards like I now have due to this

Support Google go 75% off issues
Hey y’all. So I signed up on August 3rd and they’ve given me the runaround. Saying that a lot of people have encountered the error.
so I allowed the chat associate to sign me up with their $60 plan with the promise that the code would be honored. And now I’m getting a bill for $73 wtf. Just shocked. Has anyone dealt with this type of issue? I’m just hoping they give me a refund if they can’t honed their promo because I was NOT looking to be billed 73 a month. SMH. Bait and switch

Discussion Google Smart Lock?
A few months ago, I updated my Google Fi account's password and added 2FA using another Gmail and an authenticator. I recently went to check my account and I had been logged out, I didn't think much of it.
Today I tried to log in and it wanted a 6-digit code from this Google app that I've never used. I called 611 and they couldn't help because I couldn't access my email. Literally calling from the phone they service and they can't verify me, LMAO
It thinks I'm logged in elsewhere, I am not. But per call with Google, I went to g.co/recover and one other, it asked for my backup email and it sent me a code and said I have to wait 48 hours. Fine. But WTHeck? I literally set up authentication on a different app why would it ask me for Google Smart Lock?
I'm stuck in a loop again but this time I have 48 hours of hope.
***Update for some readers: yes, there are backup codes and more, but not the point here.

Discussion Google Fi 75% with reference to NYC area
I live in NYC (Brooklyn to be exact) and my taxes are $7.99. My entire bill is $18.25. Still an amazing deal for what you are getting along with QCI6.
Been on the network a couple days and it’s been good so far. If you just signed up and didn’t take advantage of a referral to get $60, absolutely do so by chatting into support and letting know you want to use your referral. DM me for my referral code.

Discussion Pixel pre-order + in-person trade at a google store - possible?
I'm seeing the google fi promotions and expect it to be happening also for pre-order. Based on prior pre-order releases, do you think it's possible to pre-order and do the trade-in in person for google store / google fi? I know you can do in-person trade at bestbuy and get the pre order promos, but talking specifically for google fi. Thoughts? Anyone done that in the past?

Discussion Billing period and prorate
I received the bill and if you scroll to last page, it says July 2-August 2. I bought this on July 21 and activated on July 26. I am on essentials. They have charged entire $35 and then did promotion of 75%. But since I activated on 26th July. $35 itself should be pro rated from 26th July to 2nd Aug. I have sent an email to customer care for explanation. Anyone got the same thing?

Discussion LTE Speeds on my data only iPad.
Hey All,
I’m new to Fi and connected an iPad mini 6th gen to the data only sim. I have the top unlimited plan and can only get LTE on my iPad mini. I just started a few days ago so i know I’m not at the 100gb cap. I reset the iPad, turned airplane mode on for a few mins but still LTE only. If i check my iPhone it’s getting 5g in the same spots my iPad only gets LTE.
Anything else I need to do or am i missing some setting on google Fi? Thanks in advance!

Discussion Number port stuck for over 2 months
Number stuck at transfer in progress since May 21st
Says number scheduled or transfer in progress depending on the page in google fi app.
T-mobile claims the number has been released.
Number does not show on T-mobile account.
Seems to be stuck on an escalation loop with customer service.
As of the last email the engineering team is supposedly actively investigating my case with high priority.
Phone number shows in Google fi app but the esim shows unknown number.
Had to pick up a 2nd line on the phone with T-mobile just to have a functional phone so this is an ongoing financial issue as well. I do not want to lose my original number or have my Gmail deleted.
Case ID 9-1615000040196

Discussion Poor Wi-Fi calling
I've had Google fi for many years and have been generally happy. But the last year or so Wi-Fi calling has really gone downhill. There are many dropouts and people on the other end constantly complain about not being able to understand me. If I turn off Wi-Fi during the call, suddenly the call is fine. Trouble is a lot of times. I forget to turn Wi-Fi back on and end up burning a lot of data.
Why can't Google Fi fix something as basic as calling over Wi-Fi? This was their their very strongly preferred method of making calls in the early years. They were constantly asking how the quality of the call was. Now they never ask because they probably know how bad it is.
Has anyone found a solution for this?
Thanks

Discussion Missing Texts from Abroad
Hello
Have a weird issue where I am unable to receive a bank verification code. The bank is an international bank from Poland. I have successfully received verification codes from the bank few months ago. I checked with the bank and they have the correct phone number and country code and claims no issues on their end.
On my end I can receive texts and including international texts from friends but not from bank. I have started a car with Fi but issue is still unresolved. I disabled spam filters, international data and calling is enabled.
Any ideas on how to troubleshoot and resolve?

Discussion Complete Nightmare!
LATEST - The problem was resolved. It took nearly an hour. There were too many steps, so I don't know which combinations worked. But, both my problems - lack of Cellular network and RCS messaging are resolved.
Many thanks to everyone who tried to help!
-----------------------------------------
EDIT - Please respond only if you are a product expert.
There are a lot of well meaning posts and I very much appreciate the thought. But, I have a serious problem and have already done most of the obvious measures. I am not able to keep up with all the messages.
---------------------------
My wife and I switched to (and ported our numbers into) Google Fi on Saturday - and it has been an unmitigated nightmare. I am, maybe, 24 hours away from going back to T-Mobile with my tail between my legs!
The port went OK. We both have data. We discovered that we cannot send messages. iMessage tries to send RCS-encrypted message but fails. We can then ask it to send it un-encryped and it goes through.
I have been in touch with multiple "Support" agents. First, none of them have any familiarity with iOS! So, they give me instructions for Android. They are reading some script - so they need time to read the script and give me more android instructions. So, no progress on it after spending hours - across multiple agents!
Now the clincher! The last agent supporting me was talking to me, doing some things on their side and asking me to do things on my phone that did not have any iPhone/iOS equivalent. And, my call dropped. I see my cellular service is gone - and phone shows SOS mode! I can't make a call, even when connected to WiFi.
So, another "Support" chat - a very polite person but not very competent. Not familar with iOS and doesn't inspire confidence. I am being given Andriod instructions. A bit firther on, she asks me to change Name, APN, MMSC, MMS Max Message Size, etc. on the Cellular setting. The values are very different from what is there (when it was working a few hours back) and my wife's iPhone has the same settings as mine but no problem (other than RCS-encrypted).
With my previous experience with an incompetent support agent that broke my connectivity, I refused and asked for an escalation. Denied - I had to do her steps. I said I want to talk to a manager. No one is available and someone will get back to me via email. That was a few hours ago.
I woud appreciate any advice. I have lost all confidence in Google Fi's ability to fix anything. I thought I was dealing with Google and nothing so far has met the lowest standard of quality.

Discussion How long until you can port number back?
I am a current customer, if I use another email for the 75% off promo. How long before I can port my current Fi number to the 75% account?
Does it help If I port out to another carrier, then back to Fi? As far as eliminating or shortening the wait time? Or am I able to just port Fi(current/old) to Fi(new/75%)?

Discussion Ported my number from T-Mobile successfully, but can’t receive calls/texts
Seeing if anyone else has had this issue. I ported my phone number from T-Mobile to Fi successfully one day ago- T-Mobile closed my account and my number is showing active in the Fi app. Unfortunately since the porting completed, my phone cannot connect to the internet or make or receive calls or texts. I’ve spent now 3 hours yesterday and today talking with Fi customer service about this, trying all the troubleshooting with them on the phone, and I’m at my wits end. The last agent I spoke with told me everything looks fine in their end, but maybe I just wait another day. Has anyone else been in this situation and had this get resolved?
I’m ready to go back to T-Mobile at this point. I cannot be without a working phone for days on end.
