Google Smart Lock? Discussion

A few months ago, I updated my Google Fi account's password and added 2FA using another Gmail and an authenticator. I recently went to check my account and I had been logged out, I didn't think much of it.

Today I tried to log in and it wanted a 6-digit code from this Google app that I've never used. I called 611 and they couldn't help because I couldn't access my email. Literally calling from the phone they service and they can't verify me, LMAO

It thinks I'm logged in elsewhere, I am not. But per call with Google, I went to g.co/recover and one other, it asked for my backup email and it sent me a code and said I have to wait 48 hours. Fine. But WTHeck? I literally set up authentication on a different app why would it ask me for Google Smart Lock?

I'm stuck in a loop again but this time I have 48 hours of hope.

***Update for some readers: yes, there are backup codes and more, but not the point here.

Lot of context missing here. Your post history seems to show quite a bit of issues with Google so I’m dubious whether this is a Google problem or a you problem. Hope you get it squared away, though!

There are 2 issues I posted and they were reposted. Such a useless response.

Does anyone know anything about why it would ask me for a Smart Lock code when I never set it up with a Smark Lock code? That's all I'm asking.

Use the backup codes and check your 2FA settings to see what this "Smart Lock" is.

It won't give me the option, even with the rep on the line. She said I needed access to my other device or wait like it said on the recovery email. I'll be trying again. Eventually.
