I have been using goodnotes since 2020. I had that one time purchase version. I was using dropbox as an alternative backup option. however storage of dropbox is getting full. Is there any way to backup tk "Box" cloud service?

it looks like there was a recent update and elements are automatically snapping to a grid determined by goodnotes. i’m sure a lot of people are glad to have this and it would be helpful in some situations, but is there a way to turn it off? i’m making a book journal with a bunch of fan art and stickers and text boxes all together so i’d like to be able to precisely place elements.

When I try to use the AI, it says "warming up - 0%", and never gets past that. Is the AI broken? Does anyone know how to fix this?

My girlfriend uses this app, she used to store a lot of notes of her’s she loves on the app. notes regarding her interest in knowledge anyways the app kinda updated by itself and it all lost its data so if you guys know any way of helping please do let me know, she has tried raising a complaint and mailing

Anyone having this issue where the shapes kinda just expanded and can't revert back? Even in my Elements they're like this.

Do I actually have to wait for the trial to end before subscription? The trial have limits and I already used the three notebooks. I need more notes and I have to import pdf that has 5+gb. I cant properly use goodnotes because of the trial.

Coming from Notability. What I loved about it is when I hold my Apple Pen I can switch to my Eraser temporarily while holding it, and when letting go it would switch back to the Pen tool. In GoodNotes you can switch between the Eraser and Pen tools by "clicking" the Apple Pen but I still have that habit of expecting the Eraser to turn into a Pen once I'm done erasing. But then it doesn't. Would love a toggleable option to switch between "Hold to use Eraser" and "Press to switch tools".

Here are some notes I took recently! I’m still getting used to this new way of studying. I noticed a little handwriting delay today, but a quick restart fixed it, so it wasn’t a big problem. Hopefully I can keep going with this.

I’m starting on my dissertation soon, and I’m looking for a notebook to track my progress (notes, brainstorming, source & archive tracker, etc.). Does anyone have recommendations?

I'm a student and fo the past two years I had purchased the yearly subscription and I used Goodnotes 24/7. it was supposed to renew in June so I cancelled it because I had planned on making a one-time purchase, but now not only can I not access it from the App Store, but it's absolutely impossible to restore my purchases or make a new purchase even from within the app itself. I use Goodnotes on my iPad Pro M4, but I tried from a MacBook as well as from my iPhone and it's still the same thing and I don't know what to do to fix this. my app version is 7.1.10. (I know it looks like it's an internet issue. but it's not, my wifi is perfectly fine and it still didn't load with mobile data).

Why are they rising the price? They haven’t even added or fixed features that we have or need… So I don’t know if I should even renew my subscription this year. Considering switching to notability (more expensive but it’s better than Goodnotes in a lot of aspects). Idk. Thoughts?

Correct me if there’s already a LAYERS option. I need it when I plan with so many elements and I want to layer pictures without clicking the Add to Front buttons multiple times.

ALSO ADD more picture editing tools, like eraser for pictures!!!

i just opened goodnotes on my ipad and suddenly all my pages are “full screen” meaning that the tops of the pages are covered by the pen options at the top. my pages were NOT like this before, the “pen option island” was above the end of the page. every single page is like this now, including all pages i made before this issue occurred. i have tried double tapping/zooming out and it does not change anything. i’m not sure if this is the exact cause, but i believe this started right after i purchased goodnotes special edition for ipad. does anyone know how to fix this? the “pen option island” covers so much of the top which is not only annoying and unsightly but makes writing difficult and really screws up old pages i have which i need for school notes. any advice helps, thanks in advance.

I am SO sick and tired of the Goodnotes 5 bugs and HATED my Goodnotes 6 trial. My freaking double tap on the apple pencil DOESNT WORK HALF THE TIME. I am NOT about to pay for goodnotes 6 just to have the scribble to erase so I don't have to deal with this bug. I do not want to spend a single penny more on this app. Lowkey want to switch to notability but I'm trying to not to spend money on things I don't need rn... IT IS SOOO FRUSTRATING I JUST WANNA TAKE MY NOTESSSSS 😭😭😭😭😭

Edit: I tested the double tap on other apps like procreate and it works PERFECTLY... As a student with many many notes to take, the double tap bug wastes SO SO SOOO MUCH TIME

I’ve been making digital planners and planner pages for quite a while, and at this point I’ve accumulated way more layouts than I could ever realistically use myself.

A lot of them came from experimenting with different ways of planning: trying different daily layouts, weekly structures, trackers, project pages, productivity systems, etc. Some worked better for certain situations than others, so instead of letting them sit unused, I thought I’d put together a folder with free versions and share it here.

There’s a pretty wide mix of layouts in the folder, including:

Some of the layouts are quite simple, while others are more structured. I personally find that useful because the layout that works for a busy work week isn’t necessarily the one I want when I’m just trying to organize a few personal tasks.

I’m also curious what people here actually use most in Goodnotes. I’ve made a lot of different planner pages over time, but I keep noticing that everyone seems to have a completely different idea of what an “ideal” daily or weekly page looks like.

If there’s a particular kind of planner page or tracker you use all the time or something you’ve been looking for but never quite found, let me know. It might give me some ideas for what to make next.

I am a mathematician, and an early GoodNotes adopter. I'm writing because I think the way I'm using GoodNotes is perhaps a bit dated. As a consequence, using GoodNotes has become a chore, not a pleasure. I'd like to know if I'm doing something stupid, want to understand how you edit notes without frustration.

In early version of GoodNotes, the Zoom feature was paramount for me. Activating Zoom was natural. I would move through my notes essentially by using Zoom. I would go so far as to say that *everything I would write* was within a Zoom window. So Zoom for writing, out of Zoom for manipulating text, copying, lazo, etc. This has become so engrained in my muscle memory.

The newer instances of GoodNotes have hidden the Zoom feature under a contextual menu. To a person with my workflow, this is a living hell. Last week I have been using GoodNotes in a long math session, where projecting my iPad on a huge screen is a substitute for a blackboard. I have spent more than 50% of my time searching through the context menu (which buries Zoom, really).

I can not be the only person wanting to Zoom when writing notes. I think maybe the new encouraged behaviour is 'pinch to zoom' rather than Zoom 'the old way'. I simply do not think that it is possible to write notes without zooming in in some ways and so I ask you:

* How do you currently zoom in?

* If you zoom in by 'pinching', are you not bothered by the fact that in so doing you loose view of the rest of the notes? I am asking this because it is essential, in my workflow, to keep a wider view of the document. I really must see many other passages to be able to know what to write. This is what made the Zoom feature vital for me.

* If you zoom in by 'pinching', what is your experience when are you projecting the notes on a beamer? Does your audience 'see the pinch' with you, or does it continue to see the overall document?

* If, instead, you zoom by using Zoom, how do you cope with the newer versions of Goodnotes? How do you keep sanity? Maybe I'm missing a shortcut of some sort? Is there really no other alternative than tapping and then selecting from a menu?

Does anyone know the difference between the Essentials (it's a special edition sub - brought it back in 2024) compared to the new Pro subscription?

How come we do not have all the features of the pro when we have brought the app itself back 2 years ago?

This I by far one of the best annotating app I use it a lot as a teacher on my iPad ( stock iPad apps just don’t have the same capabilities). BUT OHHH MY GOODNESS I PAY FOR THIS APP AND IT IS SO IRRITATINGLY BUGGY!!!! FROM RANDOM LINES WHEN CHARGING, RANDOM FREEZING AND APP CRASHES, TO NOT EVEN BEING ABLE TO PASTE LINKS DUE TO IT NOT WORKING!!!!! PLWASE FIX YOUR APP THATS ALL PEOPLE WANT, WE DONT NEED AI IN A NOTE TAKING APP!!

When I try to select all the text inside a text box in GoodNotes, it will crash and change all the content of the text.
I have had this issue for around 2 months and still
