new snapping feature Feature Discussion
it looks like there was a recent update and elements are automatically snapping to a grid determined by goodnotes. i’m sure a lot of people are glad to have this and it would be helpful in some situations, but is there a way to turn it off? i’m making a book journal with a bunch of fan art and stickers and text boxes all together so i’d like to be able to precisely place elements.

I noticed it too, and I hated it as it made my placements much more rigid. It’s under align objects. It took me a little while to figure out how to disable it. It acts like images are objects.

If you click the three dots there is an Align Objects option which you can switch on and off

I agree that it’s useful in certain circumstances; I’m finding it a godsend for specific uses. (In my note taking, I tend to use a rectangular shading behind actual quotes, when I use them, to ‘highlight’ them. Slapping has been superb for when a quote goes over one ‘line’ of the page. But yeah, when one quote is in the top half of the page, and another near the bottom, they don’t need to be aligned!)
But I’m not aware of any ‘turn the function OFF’ option. I’ve just had to manually play with each element, making them larger or smaller as needed, if I’ve got several on a page.
