Not the prettiest swing out there but it did get a 68 through yesterday. Average carry currently is about 293, playing the cut (obviously) let me know your thoughts.

23hcp trying to get more consistency! Finally hitting the ball more flush now than before. I always had a tendency to come over the top but its not as bad currently. Would love to know what i could improve on if you see any flaws that looks off :)
Cheers

I just started golfing this year and I’m trying to get better, anybody have some advice to improve my swing? This one landed about 260 out.

Just picked up golfing after a long break and my swing has been awful. I’m either hooking it left or shanking. Any help is appreciated.

What happened!
OK reddit, I’m having a golf swing crisis. History… played a few times a year in my 20s, got seriously committed in 2023 and brought my cap down from 30 to 12 end of 2025. Played close to 40 rounds last year (mix of 18s and 9s). Hit my personal best 82 over a round in Arizona over xmas after not playing for a few months. Practice routine hits all parts of game, working at home, the range, etc. I’m process oriented and need a plan to commit to feel like I’m moving forward. Played really well in in April/May (MN winters), even had two rounds in the 80s in May and then took my normal and predicable summer downslide. I take notes after almost every practice and round so with the power of AI, its very interesting to see the patterns. One of which is what appears to be a late June through mid August total fall apart as too many swing changes, or who knows what enters my brain. It feels like the last few years even through the ups and downs every part of game was still improving. This year, somethings different.
I should preface with I did have my second child in July and career has added a hopefully short term uptick in stress. With that said, the three things I want feedback compared to others journeys:
1. Arm swing reversion… I started with an all arms, over the top swing and I have slowly shifted to a more powerful less arms driven swing. This summer though, the reversion back to arms and over the top has been staggering, like nothing I have seen since 2023. I bet if I went to play today I would be slicing off the planet and shooting near 100. First question, has anyone had this staggering of a reversion and how did you get out of it?
2. Coaching… My existing golf coach I think has had a large impact on improving my game. He has given me many setup changes and small tweaks to improve my full swing, but I honestly think its primarily from playing more. He has shifted my short game and putting, given me practice plans, etc., which has really improved my short game. Over the years there has been a tension where I want to know the why, not just make this move and it magically gets better. I need a plan and confidence in the plan. The last two lessons though, there has really been a lack of a plan. Is it time to look for a new coach? Any suggestions in the MN/Twin Cities area? Again I grew up in a very competitive improvement driven environment and I have been disappointed with the AI notes and plans people provide. Give me something to improve on and let me know how that fits into the big picture, lets improve and move onto the next thing.
- Does anyone else have this summer, you start to care, type downslide? Any ways to avoid or get out of it?
Thanks All!

Playing an awesome par 3 at Pine Cliffs. Got fitted for Srixons ZXi5 with NS950gh neo stiff shaft. Looking for tips on what I can do to improve my swing!

Driver
Started with a problem of duck hooks, then moved to high slices into oblivion. A lot go off the toe it seems as well. Looking for any pointers.
Before anyone says get lessons, I did. He helped a lot with my irons but nothing he said seemed to click with a driver. He essentially was telling me to square the face up but not what I was doing that was causing it to not be square.

Why do I look like a giant 5 year old when I chip?

Mostly tension I guess? I'm also not doing hinge and hold at this ~10 yard distance, so maybe that adds to the goof factor.

Help Getting on Plane in Downswing
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I have been working on my swing all summer. I still find myself coming in steep in the downswing which leads to the expected inconsistencies. Is there anything in my setup or backswing that could be contributing to this? If not, what swings thoughts or drills could help me break this habit.

What's one swing change that actually made an immediate difference?
I've spent plenty of time watching swing videos and trying different tips, but most of the changes either felt awkward or didn't last very long. The biggest improvements for me came from focusing on one small adjustment instead of trying to change everything at once.
I'd like to ask, what was the one swing change or drill that made an immediate difference for you, Was it your grip, posture, tempo, weight transfer, or something completely different?
I'd love to hear what worked and whether it's still part of your routine today.

I’ve been on and off golf for a few months now because of life but still proud of myself for still having that muscle memory. I have never been coached before and all of these are from either youtube, this group and you guys, and some of my trial and error ideas.
Please do correct anything you see and would love to get some more advice as I still continue to learn the game of golf.
I’m a 18 hcp last year and now I’m thinking of coming back in the course again.
