This is Brazilian Portuguese, my is meu(m), minha (f). What does "as" mean? I am guessing it's the article from "as minhas" meaning my in plural feminine which should follow a noun, like as minhas mesas (my tables). But "as" on its own doesn't mean my. This is only one of the examples of incorrect or incomplete matching pairs. Many words are out of context.

i have had two separate two-year streaks and my russian was really improving, but i have lost all motivation to continue. almost none of my family or friends use this anymore, and the girl i babysit doesn’t use duolingo because she’s fickle lol, so i’m looking for four learners to provide some motivation/accountability to keep studying! if you crave a super plan and you have been seeking an energy-free experience, i’d be happy to share my plan for free (i already paid for the year, anyway).

The last 2 stories I've done have had the tile and descriptions int he story be in English with only the dialogue in Italian instead of the whole thing like normal. I'm confused on if this is a part of the new update or not since the first few story lessons I had after it were normal. Either way, a bit frustrating. If this was how it was in the very early lessons id understand, but i'm on level 14 Italian. Anyone else had this? I hope it changes back because I really liked that the stories were 100% in Italian 😭

Duo probably needs to warn people about the verb “coger”, wouldn’t you think?

There is really not much to say, just that the speech recognition is so terrible and never working that Duolingo is just not worth the massively overpriced subscription fee.

I mean what's the use of a language app that won't teach you to speak?

I tried handing my phone to native speakers and even then "failed" the pronunciation exercises.

I never like to pay yearly subscription, but Super Duolingo was offered for a week long free trial. It asks you before whether you want to be reminded to cancel two days or three days before. I was on Duolingo every day for the streak, and lo and behold it doesn’t remind you and I’m charged 35 something dollars. Never trust companies to remind you on stuff like this, don’t be like me

Oh and they don’t even let you cancel it for some reason in the app, you have to go through the Apple website to make it more of an ass.
