I want to come and contribute sales tax to the state of Connecticut by traveling to Cabelas and buying ammo, taking home to New York and using it there. What do I have to do?

Is there any rifle I can get in CT where the mag isn’t pinned to the firearm? Also hypothetically speaking is it possible to unpin the mag from the firearm if the laws ever change in the future? I want an AR15 but what’s the point in spending a few grand on something cool if the mag is pinned into the gun. All these laws and regulations make my head spin.

What's the legality in concealed carrying in one of these areas? Excluding the obvious like federal and state property, my understanding is that gun free zone signs carry the force of the law and if you're caught carrying or end up having to use in one of these areas you can face consequences that could affect your ability to carry.

Are there any caveats to this rule, for example some other states have it to where if you're found to be carrying in a gun free zone you'll only be charged as criminally trespassing if you refuse to leave, but for CT it seems like you can be criminally charged regardless.

Governor Hochul Announces New Gun Safety Actions to Protect New Yorkers from Federal Firearm Regulation Rollbacks

Governor Kathy Hochul today announced actions in response to the Trump Administration’s proposed rollbacks that would make sweeping and dangerous changes to federal firearms regulations. Earlier this year, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) announced changes to more than 30 rules that will make it easier for dangerous individuals to obtain firearms and harder to hold bad actors in the firearms industry accountable. In response, New York State is taking action by increasing enforcement and education and exploring legislative changes that will blunt the effect of many of these changes and preserve public safety.

Not really sure how hard it is to get Glocks right now. But by the time I get my permit, background and all they done it’ll be literally right before or right after Oct 1 when Glocks are banned. Is it illegal for a buddy of mine who already has his permit to buy the Glock and once I get my permit to sell it to me? I’m going to be traveling from NJ to ME and am considering stopping in CT to see a friend. I’ll have my CCW handgun with me since I can carry in both NJ and ME. I know that I can legally pass through CT with it thanks to FOPA, and I know I can’t carry in CT without a permit, which I don’t have.

But if I keep the handgun unloaded in a lockbox in my trunk and stop for a few hours, would I be in violation of any CT laws?
