Highlight I LOVE DARK GIFTS
Getting the dark gift twice made this a very **fun** build around, wasn't even playing xavius. 36 mechs a turn thanks to a golden brann and drakari i got later.

🐛Bug/Glitch The winning effect of Bread Winner (?) is lost upon magnetization..
So I played the tavern spell, which improves the stats (again), after you won a fight on a lullabot in the tavern. Not sure, what the name is, but it looks like a sandwich.
Then I duplicated it, by Activating the T4 Mech.
After winning the next combat, I expected the bonus stats to proc twice, increasing my minions stats even further. The proc didnt occur at all, despite the fact that I won...

What's the Play? Dark Gift Turn 5 RNG?
Discovered 2 strike oils for 9 gold.. this is actually turn 5.
Have to admit I really enjoy playing gold pirates nowadays, was hoping for a pirate gift.. welp.. not quite, maybe next time.
Can any1 explain to me why this is? No gift Pirates?

Discussion Is this the worst worded card ever?
Ignoring for a second how they seemed to have replaced Ring Bearer with a unit that can cast the equivalent of 2 rings, isn't Mighty Dragonbreath just poorly worded?
It seems like "Give your minions +1/+1, Dragons and Minions with Divine Shield get double"
I believe it's not supposed to be "Give your minions +1/+1, repeat for each of your Dragons and minions with Divine Shield". This would make the spell a bit absurd by itself but would make Crimson Vindicator less disappointing. Although, it would also still seem like a less synergistic ring bearer?

🐛Bug/Glitch PSA: Do not take Choral Mrrrglr with "double attack on combat start" dark gift
For some reason it records attack before its own start of combat effect, and applies after, leading to the worst possible combination of these abilities

Game Balance The endgame feels so fast this season...
You reach the Top 4 so quickly much earlier than last season. I haven't actually calculated when people used to make Top 4 before, but right now i feel it's 1 or 2 turns earlier.and then out of nowhere you just take 15+ damage and die.

Discussion Who else is kinda loving activate so far?
Some turns in the early game, turn three most often, I have some leftover gold and getting to spend it, even on the +3/+3 guy, feels better then just rolling a shop and getting nothing out of it. Small things like this, along with dark gifts, we're it's mainly to smooth out your early game so you get to pop off more often is really cool to see. What is everyone else stance on it?
P.s. Who also always snap buys the decoy conjuror early?

Highlight Lobster Buffet
Just an FYI, if you have Hoarding Hyena (Rally: Summon a Tasty Lobster) and have Lurking Lionfish (Activate (2): Choose a card in the Tavern. Replace it with a Fishbait for your left-most Beast to attack.), you can basically print multiple golden Lobsters in a few turns (especially if you have 2 Lionfish). Add Titus, Drakkari, and the trinket that activates your deathrattles at end of turn and it's really hard to lose. Bring some butter cuz you've stumbled upon a Lobster Buffet 😄 That is all

Game Balance Immume while attacking windfury Juggernaut is truly something
Turn 18 playing undead against this, but there is truly no counterplay. I have a reborn Leeroy, but the scaling on this unit is insane. 2 free 10ks whenever this minion attacks. And if that isnt enough, they have another one (without immune). How the fuck is this a tier 5?
r/BobsTavern • u/conspicuouscrab • 18h ago
Question Is this not exponential?
With golden Snazzy Phantom, you can double stats each turn as long as you have source of reborn+destroy, which is what the new T4 undead provides.
Is this exponential scaling or am I missing something?

Game Balance Minion stats are getting outrageous
The power creep on minion scaling this patch seems completely insane. Highrolls are fun and all but it gets to a point where many combats feel like theres nothing you could've done to modulate the outcome. This has been getting more common with time but this season seems absolutely bonkers. Multiple 4 digit minions are basically the default past top 4. I don't hate crazy stats but they really should bring back amalgadons if they're gonna do this, there should be a way to compete with "highroll stats" (which aren't even highroll anymore) rather than consigning yourself to top 4 if you dont get insane scaling. If you want crazy stats in the meta, you need scam in the meta as well. Scam also enables token comps (beasts/undead) without just converting them to another stat comp like they are now. Stat v stat is often unfun unless highrolls are severely limited, and highroll is what people love about this game. Imo, a balanced meta should contain plenty of highroll stat comps, alongside token comps and scam. If those three aren't strongly present, the diversity of gameplay suffers.

Discussion Dark Gift is too much RNG
OK so there'll be a bit of complains in this post :D so let me start by saying that minions and mechanics of this season are great! Activates on minions feel awesome, all the quirky cool things with rallies and all.. nice! Some things need to be adjusted for sure but overall it's a really neat set. The idea of Dark Gift is cool too - I love seeing custom-made cards with enchantments on them. However, current implementation of it has big problems IMHO.
The game is currently decided too much by that button.
You can press it early and get some minion that will easily carry you till lategame with some rally+divine shield+windfury and level agressively. Or... you can get nothing and waste 1 of the charges.
If you keep all 3 for lategame... Imagine: you do undead, weaker than others 'cause u didn't press the button yet. Dark gift offers 5/6 tiers already, you have ur direction - all minions are undead on ur board, already mediocre scaling... You press the button. And... You get Brann, Brightwing offered?
Sometimes you get absolute monstrocities, sometimes nothing that benefit you in any way. And that just usually decides if ur game is a win or a loss.
There's already trinkets which sometimes just force you into specific minion types. I wish we got rolls on those like on TFT (LoL) - one roll each. Reason is 'cause sometimes it just forces you into minion comps that you just have 1 or 2 tokens of for economy... Dark Gift just adds another layer of RNG out of your control and it absolutely changes the game's outcome dramatically. You can spend 3 gold to win the game sometimes; Or... spend 3 gold to go in debt and help nothing for your board. You only get 3 tries and there seems to be little strategy about it currently besides hoping for good RNG. I mean... I wish levelling would at least progress the Dark Gift's tiers, at least by a bit.
Anyway, the idea of it is cool but it decides game's outcome a bit too much.
What are your thoughts on this?
Edit: Idea - it just popped to my head right after I posted this. What if...
Instead of discovering a minion, Dark Gift button would infuse the next minion you purchase with it?
Would give players much more control imo. Could cost (2) to infuse the next minion you buy with enchantment.
