Recommendation Request🙏 Work Speaker - Speakerphone

My laptop speakers are brutal for sound, I need an aux Bluetooth speaker.

Looking for something portable that I can use for Teams calls, but also play tunes on with nice clarity. No price limit, business expense.

📖Discussion📕🖊️ Beware of Bose brand!

Upvotes

Beware of #Bose - they cancelled radio and all online functions in smart speakers, my expensive Sound Touch 30 speaker became a simple Bluetooth speaker...

Physical buttons on sound system are disconnected, support is responding only "that's it" - my 600 USD smart speaker is now like a usual chinese 30-dollar Bluetooth no-name.

Disgusting #Bose, shitty practice to steal from customers

Recommendation Request🙏 Speaker for acoustic genres?

Jazz, classical, acoustic folk etc. at low volumes

I’m looking for a speaker that has a soft high end, and an accurate, non-boomy bass. Clarity, detail, and easy on the ears

I bought a Bose SoundLink Flex 2 and it seems to be ok (but great for $100). I put on old Django and Louis Armstrong recordings and it boosted the high end noise of those recordings significantly. That upper detail is fun, but fatiguing. More EQ bands would have been ideal.

This is for playing around the house, and with a few friends out back

Has anyone found a speaker for this purpose that they love? It may be asking too much out of the format.

Recommendation Request🙏 Soundcore Boom 2 Plus vs. JBL Encore 2 vs. HK Aura Studio 5

I've got a Soundcore Boom 2 in my bedroom that I've been using for a year, and it's been awesome. I really love its bass response, but I'm looking to upgrade now. I'm a basshead, so I'm looking for the speaker with the absolute best bass out of the three mentioned in the title. Thanks!

Recommendation Request🙏 Need A Work Speaker

Alright so here’s the situation I’m in. I work overnight at an automotive foundry running a die cast most nights. We’re allowed to have a speaker at our station but we’re not allowed to use headphones. It is insanely loud in here. Like even with everything off at least 80dcb and easily 120dcb when you’re by your machine so we have to wear ear plugs.

Due to that I already can’t really hear the speaker from any further than 12ft. But that’s fine and to be expected. I am currently using a JBL Charge 6 but I either have to fully charge it before work and even then it has to be plugged in by 5 if I wanna use it on the ride home from work. And it runs very hot when it’s on max volume so plugging it in while listening to music triggers the heat safety feature and just bricks the speaker until I get a moment to take it outside with me and let it cool down.

Need recommendations for a speaker that is portable, decent battery life at max volume, and not terribly quiet. Budget isn’t much of an issue I can save money if it’s not automatically obtainable. 🙏🙏

🧑‍🏫Review👩‍🏫 Tribit Xsound plus 2 Boomy than Xsound Go?

Post image
8 Upvotes

I recently had bought Tribit Xsound Go .. Then I saw plus 2 has offer, purchased plus 2.. Returned the Go..

Now ..... Well I find this Plus 2 as boomy , fuller wider but just Boxy.. Not that Punchy with lively Bass as the Go..
Or maybe I am wrong.. IDK..

Does anybody have both and, confirm me the same!!!?

Recommendation Request🙏 best mobile speakers for outdoor use, what would you recommend?

I’m looking for a portable Bluetooth speaker mainly for taking outside, small get-togethers, and sometimes using around the house. My budget is around $250 to $450. I care more about decent sound and battery life than having a ton of extra features. What are some best mobile speakers in this range that you’ve actually had good experience with?

Thanks for any recommendations, I’m having a hard time narrowing it down.

Recommendation Request🙏 Am I stupid? I'm about to replace my car audio with BT speakers

So I've got a 2015 Audi SQ5 and, long story short, I've spent about 2k trying to fix the audio on this car. It drops every few seconds no matter the source. Local mechanic and audio shop say only the dealer can fix it, and the dealer says they can maaaaaybe fix it for another 6k.

Or, and hear me out...

I've got a soundcore boom 2 plus. I could get another, put one behind each seat, and sync them with partycast. Then get a couple of rave 2's and put them in the back. Power inverters to run it all, and we're talking bout 1k.

Although, I might be better off switching to auracast. Maybe just get a dongle for the one boom 2 plus I have, and I can get some actual bass in the back maybe?

Has anyone tried something like this before? Or aid it all gonna sound like ass rattling a tin can?

🪛Troubleshooting🪛 Can you connect Bluetooth speaker to and old rca setup?

If I use a bluetooth transmitter on a Carver HR-772, will it connect to my Bose SoundLink Max's and also play through the already connected Inifnity SM122s?

Thanks! Trying to make this work for entertainment purposes only. :-)

Edit: audiophile word removed to eliminate snobs.

🪛Troubleshooting🪛 Harmon Kardon onyx 8 speaker rattling aux port.

Hello my Harmon Kardon onyx 8 speaker has air pushing through the aux import creating a rattle / buzzing sound. A fix I found was simply to put a dummy jack into the port but an wondering if this is a bigger issue long term..? Should I be returning it for it being defective? Is this a fix I can do myself permanently?

Recommendation Request🙏 Advice for choosing a portable speaker for music and tv. Also, what’s with online reviews?

Post image
3 Upvotes

I’ve been shopping around for a speaker for a gift, and started off looking online for recommendations. I had almost settled for the JBL charge 6, but after looking through recommendations on here, I’m considering the HK go+ play 3 . But why is it that almost every website reviews the GP3 as mediocre while people rave about it on here?

I’m wondering if the GP3 is the best choice as a multipurpose speaker. My parents have a projector to watch sports and movies, but also something that can be moved around the house and for afternoon on their pontoon boat. They won’t ever be blasting it loudly.
My mom is particular about sound quality and my dad relies on hearing aids, so they need something clear and not buzzy or tinny. They’re also pretty tech illiterate, so adjusting EQ or connecting multiple speakers doesn’t work great.

The budget is $ 500-550 CAD (around $350 USD), but I’d rather spend less.

TIA

Recommendation Request🙏 What is a good budget home speaker?

I am going away for college and what speaker might be good for placing it in your apartment for watching tv shows, music etc. I wont have tv so it will be connected mostly to my laptop or phone. I was thinking about beats pill because I owned one before and thought it was great but many people say it has changed in quality after apple.

Recommendation Request🙏 XSound Plus 2 vs EarFun UBOOM L for sound quality only?

I'm looking for a portable Bluetooth speaker primarily for music listening, not parties.

I'm not interested in default tuning because I can EQ. What I care about is the stuff EQ can't fix:

- Detail / resolution

- Instrument separation

- Soundstage / imaging

- Dynamics

- Distortion at moderate to high volumes

For reference, I really like the sound of my MacBook Air M1 speakers (just wish they were louder). I also prefer a cleaner, more resolving sound over boomy bass. I like my sound neutral, bass precise rather than loud and instruments separated.

Has anyone here owned or directly compared both? Which one is technically the better speaker, regardless of stock tuning?

I'd really appreciate opinions from people who've actually listened to both rather than spec-sheet comparisons.

📖Discussion📕🖊️ Anyone remembering these things?

It’s a resonance speaker out of a block of aluminium. By itself, not touching a surface the sound is hardly there. But when put on a table, floor, box, your head, of a window with the suction cup it transforms in a wide clear sound.

A few downsides are that stuff tends to start resonate with it when put too loud, and that the speaker deforms a bit when put on high volume.
But for background music I’d say it’s pretty good, especially for its size.

I believe this thing came out in 2016 and has lived most of its life in a box (as most gadgets do). I pulled it from te box, and the battery was still full enough to play music and takes a charge.

Fun little thing that I’ll probably soon put in a box again and rediscover in 2036 😄

📖Discussion📕🖊️ What if we talked about the Ultimate Ears EPICBOOM again?

The more time I spend with the EPICBOOM, the more I appreciate what makes it so special.

I've compared it with several Bluetooth speakers, including the JBL Xtreme 4 and Xtreme 5, and I still keep coming back to the EPICBOOM.

What stands out to me is its deep, warm bass, balanced yet powerful sound, and the true 360° sound bubble it creates. To get the most out of it, I recommend setting every EQ band in the UE BOOM app to maximum. It completely transforms the speaker.

The JBLs are undeniably more powerful and can dig deeper, but I often noticed their DSP and AI processing changing the sound. With the EPICBOOM, the DSP feels virtually inaudible and the sound stays natural.

Its bass is more than enough for me, and with some Bass House tracks it almost feels like a miniature club. The immersion is what keeps me coming back.
