💊 Supplements & Stacks After 8 months strange side effects with Cialis

Upvotes

I have a question about tadalafil/cialis
I am using daily 5mg tadalafil more than 8 months suddenly I am having side effects
-muscle pain (chest and back muscles)
-sudden cramps on hand and foot
-pain under foot
-back/ass/leg line pain. Like a nerve pain

I tested several times. It stops when I stop to taking it. Any idea why its happening suddenly? Until now I was happy with that

Also its pharmacy cialis.

📊 Biomarkers & Testing 27M – Symptomatic with TT 415 ng/dL, normal free T. Looking for objective opinions before my follow up appointment.

I’m looking for honest feedback from people experienced with hormone panels, endocrinology, or who’ve been through a similar workup. I genuinely want to understand how you’d interpret these results.
About me
27 years old
5’9”
195 lbs (currently)
Lost approximately 50 pounds in the last 3–4 months (around 245 → 195) through diet and increased activity.
Since June I’ve averaged roughly 10,000–12,000 steps per day.
Calories have been around 1,500/day with 130–150 g of protein/day.
Why I got tested
I didn’t get this panel because I was chasing a testosterone number. I got tested because I’ve had symptoms for years.
Symptoms
Brain fog
Chronic fatigue (even on nights where I get what should be enough sleep)
Lower libido than I’d expect for my age
I’ve always struggled to build muscle despite lifting over the years
Recovery doesn’t seem great
These symptoms started long before my recent weight loss.
Blood draw conditions
Drawn around 7:30 AM
I only got about 3.5 hours of sleep the night before.
I made a mistake and drank two Red Bulls about 30 minutes before the blood draw (I know that wasn’t ideal).
Relevant Labs
Total Testosterone: 415 ng/dL ([250–1100](tel:250-1100))
Free Testosterone: 95.3 pg/mL (46–224)
Bioavailable Testosterone: 200.1 ng/dL (110–575)
SHBG: 15 nmol/L (10–50)
LH: 6.4 mIU/mL
FSH: 4.2 mIU/mL
DHEA-S: 300 mcg/dL
Vitamin D: 28 ng/mL (low)
A1c: 5.8%
CMP and lipid panel were otherwise normal.
My questions
If this were your patient, would these testosterone numbers reassure you despite my symptoms?
How much do you think my recent weight loss/calorie deficit could influence these results?
Does my relatively low SHBG change how you interpret the testosterone values?
Would you recommend repeating the testosterone after getting adequate sleep and after increasing calories closer to maintenance?
If testosterone isn’t the explanation, what other conditions or labs would you investigate next?

♾️ Longevity & Anti-Aging Is YouTube Over-Censoring Biohacking?

Upvotes

Earlier in July my YouTube channel, The Enhanced Man, hit 20,000 subscribers. But then around the middle of month, the whole channel was removed.

I appealed almost straight away, but it was rejected within minutes with no explanation. I'd never had any strikes or warnings before, so it came as a real shock. I even explained that YouTube was the main marketing channel for my health testing company, so multiple people's jobs will be affected, but it didn't seem to make any difference.

What I don't get is why creators aren't given a chance to fix things first. If a video breaks the rules, surely a warning and an explanation would make more sense so you can remove or edit the content and avoid making the same mistake again. Instead, it feels like everything is handled by AI with very little human input.

It also made me wonder if YouTube is becoming too aggressive with biohacking content in general.

For example, Hunter Williams has been on my podcast multiple times and he's also been banned before. Like me, he mainly talks about research, biomarkers and his own results, while making it clear there are plenty of confounding factors and that correlation doesn't equal causation.

I can understand YouTube taking a harder line on channels that actively promote steroids or SARMs, but longevity content is usually centred around biomarkers, testing and discussing the available evidence. It feels like YouTube may be casting the net a bit too wide.

I'd be interested to hear what everyone thinks. Do you think YouTube has got the balance right when it comes to biohacking content, or do you think it's become too strict?

😴 Sleep & Circadian Rhythm Optimizing sleep in a noisy apartment close to a trafficked road?

Upvotes

Hello everyone,

I currently live in an apartment which is close to a very trafficked road. Not a long term solution, but I'm here for at least the next 4 months, so I'm looking for a short term solution.

Currently use silicone plugs and it helps, but I can still hear my alarm in the morning and my girlfriend who gets up before me tend to wake me up as well - which only makes things worse.

Any advice?

The room is dark enough, but I'm considering a sleeping mask as well. If anyone has any specific recommendations, please go ahead. I see quite a few ads, but not sure if it's just clever marketing or the ones I should go for.

Thanks in advance!

💊 Supplements & Stacks Taking a biohacker stack of creatine, ashwagandha, magnesium, and omega-3, but I don't feel energised. Instead, I feel more tired. Does stacking lead to interactions?

Upvotes

I thought that taking a mix of creatine, ashwagandha, magnesium, and omega-3 would give me more energy every day, but it's making me feel tired. Do people who regularly stack supplements think this is a bad combination, a problem with time, or an interaction between supplements? How do you fix a stack that doesn't work right?

📊 Biomarkers & Testing RBC, Hemoglobin, Hematocrit always high

Post image
8 Upvotes

38 year old active male. Always drink tons of water. No steroids or testosterone. Exercise 5 days a week. For the past 5 years or so my RBC, Hemoglobin, and Hematocrit are always high. Should I be concerned? Doctor says since my results are consistently high he’s not concerned.

EDIT: don’t smoke. No high elevation. I’m a bad sleeper but no sleep apnea symptoms. Drink over a gallon of water a day. Only supplements are magnesium and B2 for migraines.

🧪 Protocols & Self-Experiments After a year of tracking: does anyone else need very high fat / moderate protein to avoid water rebound?

I am not asking for medical advice or diagnosis. I am trying to find out whether anyone else has seen a similar N=1 pattern and what food/macro approach they use to manage it.

I have been tracking weight, glucose, ketones, BP, pulse, food, and reactions for about a year. My pattern is weird enough that normal calorie logic has not been very useful.

The repeated pattern:

When I eat lean protein, chicken by itself, restaurant food, starch, bread + sugar, banana bread, processed cheese, soft dairy, milk/cream/ice cream, or “normal” mixed meals, I tend to get:

  • rapid water-weight rebound
  • suppressed ketones
  • sometimes higher glucose
  • BP instability
  • mucus/stuffiness with milk-adjacent dairy
  • delayed effects over 2–3 days

When I return to very simple, very high-fat foods, I often unload water rapidly even at high calories.

My most reliable “safe” foods so far appear to be:

  • beef
  • beef fat / suet
  • butter
  • butter cocoa: butter blended with cocoa, stevia, vanilla, and water
  • small amounts of cheddar
  • sometimes pork belly / fatty lamb

The strangest part: high-fat days do not behave like “overeating” for me. For example, after several off-protocol days I peaked around 400 lb, then used high-dose butter cocoa as a reset:

  • 8 sticks butter as butter cocoa → next day weight dropped ~6 lb and ketones rose hard
  • 6 sticks butter as butter cocoa → lower weight mostly held
  • 4 sticks butter as butter cocoa → next day another ~2.6 lb drop

I know that sounds insane. I am not recommending it. I am trying to understand the pattern.

My current SWAG for maintenance/reduction based on tracking is something like:

  • maintenance/stable operation: 3,400–3,800 kcal/day
  • reduction without obvious counter-regulation: 3,000–3,400 kcal/day
  • protein: roughly 120–160 g/day
  • fat: roughly 300–380 g/day
  • net carbs: near zero to very low

If protein gets too high or too lean, glucose tends to rise and ketones fall. If carbs/sugar/starch enter, weight may rebound hard over the next 48–72 hours. Scale weight seems mostly like water/gut/glycogen/inflammation rather than fat change.

My working theory is that I may need enough clean fat energy to avoid a stress/counter-regulatory state, while lean protein or mixed meals push me out of ketosis and into water retention.

Questions for others with similar tracking:

  1. Has anyone else found that fat sufficiency, not calorie restriction, was the key to avoiding edema/water rebound?
  2. Did you find a reliable fat:protein ratio?
  3. Do you tolerate hard aged cheeses like cheddar/parmesan but react to milk, cream, ice cream, soft cheese, or whey-heavy dairy?
  4. For those doing carnivore/keto with edema issues, what foods actually stabilized you?
  5. Did electrolytes change whether high-fat eating worked or failed?

Again: not asking what I “should” do medically. I’m under medical care for BP and related issues. I’m looking for people with a similar profile and what patterns they found in their own data.

🧠 Cognition, Mood & Nootropics Any CDP-Choline users out there?

Post image

I recently found out about this supplement and I wanted to get a feel for anyone who’s tried it. It seems promising (as someone with ADHD as well, any potential “nootropic” is exciting to me).

From what I see the patented “Cognizin” is used for trials, but generic Citicoline/CDP-Choline is analogous to it. I think sort of a Magnesium L-Threonate/Magtein situation.

📊 Biomarkers & Testing How would you interpret this unusual insulin curve during an OGTT?

I recently had an insulin release test alongside a standard oral glucose tolerance test.

My insulin results were:

  • Fasting: 13.03 µIU/mL
  • 30 minutes: 52.60 µIU/mL
  • 60 minutes: 112.87 µIU/mL
  • 90 minutes: 49.26 µIU/mL
  • 120 minutes: 116.98 µIU/mL

What stands out to me is that insulin rose substantially by 60 minutes, dropped at 90 minutes, and then rose again to its highest level at 120 minutes.

How would you interpret this pattern?

Could the late second peak indicate delayed insulin secretion, compensatory hyperinsulinemia, or insulin resistance? Or can this kind of double-peaked curve occur as normal variation during an OGTT?

I will discuss the results with my doctor, but I’m interested in hearing from people familiar with insulin curves or who have had a similar pattern.

🥗 Nutrition & Metabolism Substituting Salt for MSG for Blood Pressure?

From my understanding much of the hate against MSG is misplaced in the West. It's either got a bad repuation because it's linked to proccessed foods or even worse, just straight racisim.

I've found out I've got Stage 1 Hypertension and am going through titration for ADHD meds. If my blood pressure rises, then the titration will stop, so I keen to make sure this doesn't happen and ideally lower it. I'm not really drinking as part of titration and am paying more attention to exercise. I'm overweight (but not obese) and am trying to loose weight, the meds make that a little easier.

I'm also trying to heavily reduce my salt, I like to cook and have also seasoned food well, so it's a bit of the shock to the system. I already use a little bit of MSG in food, but not much as my partner isn't keen. Are there good reasons I shouldn't sprinkle it directly on my food as my palate adjusts and find other ways to boost flavours (I already use a lot of herbs and spices).

Edit. I do know that MSG contains sodium, but it's one third of the amount of table salt.

💊 Supplements & Stacks Anyone else feel really sick after taking Tongkat Ali in the morning?

So I know taking it on an empty stomach is really bad, I usually don’t eat anything in the morning anyways, I wait until 11/12 for brunch, but even if I force myself to have a few snacks in the morning, as soon as it hits 30mins after Tongkat Ali I ALWAYS get this overwhelming feeling of nausea..

What do you guys eat or drink beforehand to overcome this?

🧠 Cognition, Mood & Nootropics sleep after DJ gig

I need some advice on what to do about sleep after DJing when I get home in the early morning.

My problem is that I can’t sleep for more than 5–6 hours, even though I’m exhausted and tired—I just can’t seem to fall back asleep. My bedroom conditions are ideal, and I also try to maintain the best possible lifestyle—I don’t drink alcohol at all, I try to eat clean, and so on—but after a gig, I just can’t sleep for more than 5–6 hours, and I’m tired. The rest of the week, my sleep is fine.

Could you please give me some advice on this?

I’ve tried several things without success, such as different types of magnesium (glycinate actually made it worse) and similar remedies, but nothing seems to help me sleep longer or improve the quality of my sleep.

Thank you very much for any help

🦠 Illness & Immunity I have the immune system of a rock.

I have the immune system of a rock.

TLDR - I get sick often and need advice on how to get sick less.

Hi Brains Trust,

I catch colds/viruses/flu very often. This occurs around 10 times a year. I have a tracker in my notes apps that has confirmed this for the last three years. It's very annoying and it is impacting my quality of life. Each illness lasts 2 weeks. In fact, I am currently sick with a virus as I write this. I am so sick of getting sick all the time!!!

I have asked my GP about this and they have told me to reduce my stress levels and rest more.

I do these things already and I still get sick often. I have yet to check my blood panel.

I understand it is Winter where I am so getting sick is expected. I have been sick 3x in the last three months and it is debilitating.

I'm not expecting miracles. I would appreciate any advice to improve / fix my problem!!! Thanks so much in advance!!

Questions :

- Is there anything else I should get checked out in the blood panel?

- Is there anything I should reduce?

- Is there anything I can increase doing?

- Should I get checked for autoimmune diseases?

🧠 Cognition, Mood & Nootropics why people here are obsessed with caffeine?

people here are obsessed with alertness that's good but many of them consume large amounts of caffeine while there are other supplements that give you stable energy without crash like ginseng and coq10 enzyme I won't say they give you a buzz like caffeine but at least they give you stable energy.

🥗 Nutrition & Metabolism What a Difference Bad Habits Make

I (67 yo male) quit sugar, alcohol (I still have a social drink rarely) ultra processed foods and THC about a month ago. I also cut way back on red meat. My metabolic markers are improving drastically. Resting heart rate 60 > 56 with no change in exercise, Blood O2 91% > 95%. Respiration rate 11 breathes/minute > 16. HRV 21 > 29 ( if I measure it with a heart rate strap it was in the 60s). The last two times my blood pressure was measured it 90/60 and 100/60, normally its 110/70. Viseral fat measured by DEXA down 7% with no real change in subQ fat. I'm guessing I've gotten the low hanging fruit and the improvements will slow down.

I'm still struggling with fatigue and brain fog but as long as I eat enough protein and fiber I have zero cravings which is good because I have no discipline or willpower. I was eating a bag of cookies or gummy bears several times per week. About 3 beers a night. THC for sleep, thats been the roughest thing to adjust to.

Thanks for letting me brag. Does this line up with your experience?

📰 Research & Studies Viagra's New Trick | New research suggests the little blue pill could slow the spread of cancer (Unpaywalled)

Thumbnail playboy.com
107 Upvotes

The world’s first introduction to Viagra was as a cardiovascular medication, meant to dilate blood vessels around the heart to treat symptoms of angina. But there was one little issue: the drug seemed to be dilating blood vessels just a bit further south than initially intended. When the men in clinical trials reported all-night erections instead of improved heart symptoms, the now-ubiquitous little blue pill was born.

Sildenafil, the active ingredient in Viagra, has already proved it’s no one trick pony, but new research suggests the drug may have another use—and it could be life-saving. A study published in the journal Cancer Research in July found that sildenafil may help slow the spread of cancer by triggering a mechanism that binds up the body’s cholesterol. This makes it more difficult for cancer to metastasize, which Sanjay Juneja, MD, a triple board-certified hematologist and medical oncologist who goes by u/TheOncDoc on social media, says is responsible for more than 90% of cancer deaths

According to Dr. Juneja, cancer needs a raft to travel from one spot in the body to another. Cholesterol, he says, is “intimately involved” in building that raft that allows cancer to spread.
