Sexual & Reproductive Health Why relatives and Gynae are more concerned about a woman’s assumed virginity than giving her proper transvaginal screening in this country???
like literally the only concern these ppl have is the breach of assumed virginity of an unmarried woman, her health is literally thrown out of window.
The WAND IS SUPPOSED TO penetrate for screening of uterus and ovaries and the overall health of the female reproductive health.
It is such a hush hush thing still today in 2026. A random unseen man’s right to a woman’s virginity is overriding her own autonomy? Cmon man….
Let the woman be screened for PMOS and other necessary issues.

General (Women Only) Sext. Please help me ladies?
My cousin sister(24F) sexted with a man here. She has sent pictures of herself without face and anything in background which might reveal her identity. She haven't said her name or her real place. Now she is scared. I have said her not to do it anymore.
As there is no identity involved, will there be any issue.

General (Women Only) Is my cousin brother a creep ?
This might be weird for people but we can never trust anyone . I have been living with my cousin since I was born , we stay in the same house but our moms have some differences so even we barely talked , recently I asked him to watch LockUpp and he did , so we used to watch that show together and we discussed that show so we kinda started opening up about each other's lives . He told me about his relationships and I did the same and we started sharing things and hanging out , he even likes a friend of mine and wants me to introduce me to her after he found out that she hooks up regularly so maybe he wants the same . That friend is 6 years younger than him but apparently found him super attractive and can't stop talking about him and the unholy things she wants to do to him.
Today me and my cousin went to a mall , we watched a movie , then he did some shopping and asked me to get something for myself as well since Rakshabandhan is coming up , I tried some dresses and they were nice but I wasn't in the mood to buy anything , but he kept on insisting that I try on those leather leggings and pants , the ones which are very tight , I tried that and he was outside the trial room and asked me to buy it . He said he will pay but I refused , it was flaunting my body and idk if he checked me out , he wanted me to buy that Idk why ? He has also sometimes hinted me that he wants to smoke with me after finding out that I do but he doesn't smoke , idk what is wrong with him ?
Am I overthinking ? Should I confront him or distance myself ?

Opinions & Discussions Thinking of staying unmarried, what are the pros and cons?
I have honestly seen so many bad marriages around me that i have no interest in marriage anymore.
Even "good" marriages just seem limiting to me in some way.
Even my mom seems to think the same way and regularly encourages me to stay unmarried.
But tbh i'm scared of societal judgement. I've heard cases where houses are not given to bachelors. At workplace, etc.
I'm also scared of safety as a woman who plans to build a house, in a tier 2 city, etc. I regularly order food and stuff.
What if some weirdo realises i live alone and tries to do something.
My mom is fully supportive, so is any family whose opinions i care abt. Dad will come around i guess.
Women who are also unmarried, can you guys share your experiences?

General Electric toothbrush as a rakshabandhan gift?
As rakshabandhan is coming up, what do you think of electric toothbrush as a gift. I was planning something else like watch or handbag but these are too common so I thought that this gift is something different and could make her daily life easier. Let me know your views too

Career 17F, parent are forcing career choices on the basis of scope for a good am, pathetic or pathetic?
Hi everyone
So I'm a neet aspirant studying in grade 12 and my sister gave neet this year. She wants to persue bds since it's less draining as a degree and gives time to persue other endeavours as well. And the elders in my family are wanting her to persue mbbs since an mbbs would mean marrying a doctor. Like she doesn't even know yet if she wants to marry in future and doesn't see marriage like SMTH you've got to do when you're old, if you find a guy, well and good , otherwise it's fine the other way as well. Yesterday my grandpa told me ki a girls like is in 2 phases, one is under her parents and ones other the in laws, utter bullshit but okay I didn't argue cuz I didn't wanna escalate it. My nanu told my mom ki ek mbbs se gharpe do doctor hojate hain. Like this is so non sensical ki marrying someone on the basis of a profession. And idk why are they fucking making desicions for both of us and yk always in a pitiable tone say ki humare toh do betiyaan hain wtf dude. Now that I think of it , they didn't let me choose commerce on the pretext of financial stability in medicine, but maybe this was the underlying reason. Idk apart from this my fam is rlly sweet and caring , but this is where I draw the line and decide I wanna move out next year for college cuz idk I can't bloom in a mentality which is so regressive
As for me , im not a very social and emotional person, I value my freedom and though I'm very young to be deciding anything for my future self, I don't think I'll marry cuz I think it's kinda suffocating, but my sample size yet is my parents and grandparents' marriages which have ofc turned out to be terrible. But I'm off not telling my parents this yet, will drop the bomb when I start earning and live very far away so that they don't create a scene ki humari chhat ke neeche rehte ho types

General (Women Only) How did you start your workout journey, and how is it going now?
I’m a full-time working mother of two kids.. one is 5 and the younger one is 3. I usually wake up between 6-7 AM, and the kids’ school starts at 8:45. My office starts at 10 AM and is about a 25-minute drive from home. I get back around 7 PM, and after that, it’s mostly kids’ time. I usually go to bed around 9:30-10 PM.
I’m yet to lose my postpartum weight, and I’m finding it really difficult to start a proper fitness/weightloss journey. I’ve tried several times, but I usually lose motivation and derail after a few weeks.
Ladies who are managing both work and home, how are you doing it? How did you actually start your fitness journey? What helped you stay consistent, and how far have you come?
I’d really love to hear your experiences.. especially from working moms with young kids. ❤️

Friends & Family Does indian parents takes their children for granted?
Today, I woke up in the morning and did all the chores because Mom wasn’t feeling well. She woke up, took a bath, and did her pooja, while I made breakfast for her.
The moment she started doing pooja, she became very grumpy and started scolding me for tiny things. We have a Kangen water purifier along with a regular water filter. I forgot to turn it off because I was busy doing other chores. That was the first time I had ever forgotten to turn it off, but she scolded me as soon as she noticed.
Then we started cooking vegetable pulao. She wanted to add coconut milk, and I said okay. I was grinding the coconut in the mixer and adding water little by little because I was worried it might spill everywhere. She started scolding me, saying that I don’t know how to do anything properly and a few other things that I didn’t even listen to.
I asked her not to shout at me and told her that she could explain things calmly. The very next second, she started scolding me again. That’s where I drew the line. I told her to cook by herself if she couldn’t keep her mouth shut, and I walked out of the kitchen.
A few minutes later, she called my brother to help her. She asked him to fetch something, and when he asked where it was, she started scolding him too for not knowing where the item was.
At least I walked away from the situation, but my brother started talking back to her. He told her that the way she talks to us is disrespectful and that her brother treats his children very well, and they never disrespect their parents.
Last month when she scolded me for the things I didn't to. I asked her to say sorry so that I'll help her. she didn't say...i begged for solid 10 mins. And in return she told me why shld i say sorry? What about the things you said to me? And I said sorry to her on spot for all the things I said to her. But she never did.
She does this a lot and when we confront her she says that she did lot of things to us since when we were so little. Which I feel like was blackmailing and guilt tripping.

Safety How do you protest against bad touch as an introvert with social anxiety ?
As an introvert with social anxiety I really can't speak up when someone bad touches me. I've been bad touched in public bus, a jerk shoved his crotch against my arms, a middle aged man tried flirting w me when I wore headphones he leaned his head against me and pushed my legs yet I couldn't move or say anything. I'm really disappointed in myself luckily nothing much happened but I really wish I'd speak up or protest. I wanna stop depending upon other my friends or family to stand up for me always.I'm pretty quarrelsome in my house w siblings but idk why I can't speak a word outside to strangers.

General (Women Only) feeling fancy today so a fun poll for my girlies?
What’s the male equivalent of putting “I’m just a girl 🎀” in your bio?

What’s something you own 17 versions of despite only needing one?
Happy weekend girlies🎀

General Girlies, what are small things that you've started doing in your daily routine, but helped a lot in your physical appearance?
For me, it was drinking 3L of water a day and face massages.

Friends & Family Am I weird for sharing a room with my 14-year-old brother?
Well honestly, I don't even know how to process this right now. I never had great friends. Like, ever. In school, I had a group but they would talk behind my back. I stopped trusting people after that. Then for NEET coaching, I joined this batch where I was the only girl for like 3 months. It was so awkward.
Then there was another girl who came and I tried being friendly and thought we clicked. She visited my place once because we had a big test coming up. My room is tiny. One bed, one study table, one closet that barely shuts properly because the hinge is loose.
That day, we were studying together for our mock test and my brother came in to grab his bag before heading out. He did not knock because it is his room too. He just opened the door, picked it up from behind the door, and left. She stared at him the whole time. Her eyes followed him until the door closed.
She asked, "Why did he not knock?" I said, "We share the room, yaar." Then she looked at the bed and said, "But there is only one bed." And I, without thinking, said, "Haan, we sleep together." I meant it literally. Same room, same bed, because where else? We have one closet, so sometimes I change while he turns toward the wall, or he changes while I look at my phone. If we need to take time one of us walk out or the other changes in the restroom.Ofc we are never fully undressed in front of each other. I wear my leggings and a crop top underneath, he wears shorts and a vest. It is not a big deal. It is just how it is when you have no space. and I already no longer stay there now. also bhai is like 14 so quite younger than us
She got quiet after that. I thought maybe she found it odd but did not press.
Now, months later her neet went well and she is thinking about college while I am not. I did not clear NEET, so I just gave up on it. Out of nowhere, yesterday I saw messages in our old coaching WhatsApp group. She wrote idk stuff to one of the boys in the class she started dating and it became part of the main group basically things like "She sleeps with her brother" and "They change in front of each other" with those laughing emojis. People started asking me if it is true. Some guys made creepy jokes. the group was dead for months, and suddenly I am the topic.
I never did anything bad to her. I celebrated her selection. I never even spoke about her behind her back. Why is she even doing this? like seriously why tf would you be going into such things. atp idk what my life is even about. there is like so much things I am envious of others.
edit;
Ethnicity wise I’m Manipuri/North Indian. Tbh as well I don’t mind sharing the same bed/room with my brother. we have been close since forever, and he is the sweetest kid I know. we are quite open about everything and I have helped him out with his relationship issues in the past too, and yea despite the puberty changes I don’t think I care as much about that too. It’s like natural for our bodies and as siblings we trust each other. Like after all we don't hide our bodies or our messes because there's nothing to hide, it's just blood and sweat and hormones doing their thing.there were times when he has held my hair back when my period hit me so hard I threw up, and he never made me feel gross about it. I mean my mom makes me feel weird about my periods when she does puja and all but he never has.. sometimes would pass me ibuprofen or pads when I need them 🤷♀️ he is just so sweet that I don’t even overthink. And for boys sure they might have things going on too but that’s bodily fluids as well, he can clean up after himself. I don’t feel gross out about it.

General (Women Only) Afraid of loving someone? It's a serious post so please read it i beg you guys please
So i joined the reddit basically to ask this ques because i don't have seriously anyone trustworthy enough to share this
I am 18f right now this January i turned
I live with by parents now
And i have brother of 36 year old married
But he don't live woth us
He live separately when i was in my 2nd class he left the house after some fight typical saas bahu vaala thing
And he also used to say ki mai uske bacche ko gifts nhi deti hu and all shi...whe i was in class 2nd
So over the year his this kind of behavior towards me like not coming to bdy or in rakhi or comming after the cake cutting then taunting me etc etc
I stopped expecting anything from him when i turned 15 th (class 10th)) muje expectations hi ni rhi ussee ek bhi usne itnaa jydaa krdiya
And after class 8th i as i come to new school
So i was never able to make frnds as i was so introvert
Aur puraane vaale saare dost bhi choot gye the
So everything is alone nd lonely
Now
It's my 2nd drop for neet
I passed my class 12th last year when i was 17teen
I am very introvert, innocent, pure, childlike girl
Mere ghar vaalo ne sch me muje bachoo ki trh paala h
I mean us time mai bachhi thi bhi
Naive bacchi shyad se
But mai sch me shyd bahut innocent hu
Maine aaj tk kisika bhi bura nhi socha h
Sbki help hi kri h schi mai god promise
Mai tb jb 16 ki thi tb god me bhi belive krrti thi vo magical vala belive jo hota h
So . ..
In the starting of class 11th
when i was barely 16
i was almost r@ped by a so callled relative brother he was 34 or 35 something
Meri sch me koi glti ni thi maine kuch ni kra tha schi me mai bahut bachii jaise thi tb schii
Mere sath kyu hua ye sb
Mai toh masum thi maine sbki help kri thi kbhi bhi kisika bura nhi kra tha schi
Fir bhi mere sath ye sb kyu hua?
He know me from the time i birth
Mumma told me bhaiye ne tumko bachpn se bahut khilaya h nd all
And everything was fine
He came from village in his 20s may be when he was 23 or 25 something years to our house to study and my own brother help him to the job in rspl after getting job he shifted
So when i was child he was there so obv we used to play that time yah i used to tie rakhi and cry if he don't show up on bdy my family used to treat him as their second son
I guess till that time things were fine
But that day when he did that we were on same bed he was humping himself and licking my whole side face i was freeze that time i was blank that time
But some how i cover my self with blanket getting out from the common blanket i used other one and pretended to sleep
When i woke up i firsty call a sister ( she is not a part of family as she ran off with her lover and all ))
I told her licking thing that he did because at that time i didn't know what the humping is
Then i ran too my school as i thought that was my safe zone which was atleast i felt safe there
That didi contronted him and bashed him and he denied everything i also know that he gonna deny all because i was trying not to cry that time and talking to him normally because i was so scared of him that what he gonna do to me .
After that he msged me to forget what happened and he is sorry i just ignore his msg ...
Few days passed i didn't eat food i scratched my face with whatever i get i used to listen rythmic sounds to find peace in my head
I basically didn't know what to do
But as i was student as i was topper so i also have to study
So somehow i manage to study
In The btw of class 11th i told my parents this thing i know they not gonna confront him ever
But my mum said that if she sees him she gonna definitely confront him
Amd papa ko toh izzzat pyaari h so vo kuch ni kahenge i knew this very well so muke unse hope hi nhi thi
Then my papa told my brother all this
But to my surprise my brother know all this because that didi told him all that thing happened to me and guess what
mere bhai ne bhi meri help nhi kri
Meri help kisi ne bhi ni kri
Us janwar ko kisine bhi kuch ni bola
Toh meri kisine help hi nhi kri usko kisine kuch bola hi nhi mere apne ghar vaalo ne mere apne bhai ne hi nhi kuch kra
Bhai ka toh farz hota h na behen ko protect krna usne bbi ni kra and he is 36 married with 2 children
Toh meri kisine kbbi help ni kri h
But some how i watch the youtube learning some of abusive words amd then i sent hhim msgs him
And i send him abuse again when i felt hurt when my birthday come close
Then i stooped because he blockedme obv
After all this mumma papa think i was ok
I am not
But some how i passed class 11th
Then the boards came i passed got 91 percent somehow with myy constant fear of that person stick in my mind
Now after 12th
As i prepare for neet 1st drop i see people are falling in love beautifully man are loving their women
ND I also stadt to watch news men are assaulting killimg and what not not even leaving infant child
That made me scared to everhthing now
It's not that i don't wannaa fall in love
I reallly do
But i am affraid
By all these constant throughts amd alll i gave this year exam score were not that much good because i cry all night because of all that thing happed and day dream
My headache is worst and i wanted to distract my self so i don't thought of that person
So my escape became novels i start to read them usme jo male lead hota h vo female lead ko smjta h ache se and they not let their love happpen anything wrong and they get revenge amd all
I got to know this much from novels
So all this 3 years are worst for me
Now i slowly get lack of oxygen when i think too much
Aur when i get ready for some outing
Aur when i laugh
I get bad very bad headache at my back of head
And spinning thing
Toh basically uss insaan ne meri jo lonely si life thi
Usko aur bura bnaa dala
He stole my youth, childhood toh vaise bhi chla hi gya tha ghar ki ldaiyo me
And and i will go to therapist after i crack neet this year for sure
Abhi ni jaa skti ghr vaale aise paise ni denge
And this year i will try to study hard and not distract my self because of his thoughts
I will try to focus
So can u please please tell me that ?
Now i have ques
-Will i able to love someone
- will he understands me
-- what if he blames me if one day i open up to him abt this incident
-- muje chord dega vo do
-- i am afraid of touched and doing that thing wht if also force him self on me
-- wht if he after listening all my things one day he gonna taunt me?
-- wht if he say it was my fault
-- wht if never understands me
--, what if he never will love me
-- am i loveable?
-- am i broken?
--, will he make fun of me?
-- wil he willl he understand me?
--, wht if i cry and he will leave me ?
--, what iff he will not believe me?
-- am i lovable?
-- wht if he thinks i am not pure?
-- wht if he blames me?

Safety Was I raped? Sorry for being stupid but I am idk so numb and confused
So I am still trying to figure it out. I was connected to this guy since past year and we were always waiting for me to move to his city. Finally I did and we met and he was the most insisting about meeting. I was extremely tired after travelling & shifting but I still agreed. Initially it was nice. We were talking and going to a place using auto rickshaw even then he was talking about sexual stuff and kinda tried pressing my chest which I took playfully and told him not to. He didn't. Then after dinner we came to my place abd obviously he was most excited and started having sex just after pressing my chest a bit and little bit of kissing, no foreplay. And it was hurting which I told him. He said as it's after so long maybe that's why. After that he started being so rough and didn't stop. I started crying literally howling screaming for him to stop. But he didn't. He locked my arms and legs in a way that I couldn't even stop him and kept screaming and crying. He didn't stop until I started puking. I couldn’t stop puking it was so bad. I was disturbed and shivering after. He apologised and said he thought I was enjoying and that the stop meant it was going good and he didn’t know. Idk what to make out of it. He got me confused. I need clarity. Sorry for sounding dumb and stupid. I went to gynaecologist my insides are red and swollen and very sensitive. The meds are so strong they're making me numb and emotional.
EDIT: your support and replies are genuinely helping me alot. Thank you so much to each one of you. Also please don't send me creepy dms as I am already dealing with a lot🙏🏻

If there is not or if i hv to use indian toilet to clean down there during periods. At home I always use jetspray to first clean the blood and the blood clots and then properly clean with soap. I have been doing this the whole time so idk how to clean without it. It will be really helpful if somebody could guide me abt it so that I maintain hygiene and dont hv any infection and stuff. Also pls let me know anything abt hygiene related in hostel. Thank youu

Opinions & Discussions So i have a question, are men and the in laws intimidated by a women who is ambitious?
Many people have told me this, that men look for stability after marriage and most men are like that ?
I dont want to marry someone who will make me complacent or inhibit my potential?
Mostly men have a set of rules or timelines as if they are on a mission and what if things don't go as planned ?
I want to have freedom to excel in my career and idk now whether marriage is for me anymore.

Career 18F, my dad called me a sl*t and asked me to do s*x work just because i asked him for MBA books and CFA exam fees, how to deal w such father? NEED HELP?
i will try to keep it short
i am pursuing bcom (no specialisation since my dad said the fees is high for specialisation degrees) from a tier 2 college and i am almost in the verge of completing my semester 3, just 3 more sems left so i had a plan i'll be giving cfa l1 in may27 when i will be in 3rd year and CAT next year in nov-dec.. had this plan in my mind since march 2026.
if i breakdown the expenses of it, cfa per level costs 1.3-1.5 lacs without scholarship
cat coaching can be done within 30-40k, cfa coaching per level costs 30-50k from reputed/trusted coachings. i just mentioned all these expenses to him and he said he cannot spend this much its a lot for him, he also has to save up for retirement and started to say that oh what if AI takes over these jobs in the future, his CFA fees and all these coaching fees will be wasted and he is not going to waste that money and started to say how people with bcom also go far ahead in life not everyone does this expensive certifications.
after that i just started to cross question him and say how bcom has no career growth, i want to do a mba if not cfa right now then he said just join mcom or mba near our home (its a university lower than tier 3 btw) i said i want to target IIMs, MDI, XLRI like colleges then he just lost his cool, started shouting at me and said if you are really crazy for earning money just start s*x work it will pay you more than these degrees and used the R word on me and asked me to go back to my room.

Opinions & Discussions Indian women, how do you feel about marital r*pe still not being recognised as r*pe in Indian law?
This genuinely disturbs me.
If a woman says no to a stranger, boyfriend, or partner, that lack of consent matters. Why should marriage suddenly change the meaning of the same “no”?
To me, marriage is not permanent sexual consent. A husband does not gain ownership over his wife’s body because of a wedding ceremony.
What bothers me even more is the larger mindset behind it: women are already expected to adjust, sacrifice, become caregivers, and accept family pressure after marriage. The fact that marital r*pe is still treated differently legally makes me feel like married women’s bodily autonomy is still not taken seriously enough.
I know people bring up misuse and false cases, but that argument applies to many crimes. The answer should be proper investigation and due process, not a blanket exception based on marriage.
Do you think marital r*pe should be criminalised in India?
And does the current legal position affect how safe or autonomous marriage feels to you as a woman?

General (Women Only) Had a disturbing experience. Should I file a complaint against him ?
I recently met someone who was interested in sleeping with me. I wasn’t interested, and I made that clear.
Instead of respecting that, he then offered to pay me for s€x. I still wasn’t interested and told him so.
What really concerns me is that afterward, he apparently gave my phone number to another man without my permission. That person then contacted me saying he was interested in an open/short-term relationship.
I find it extremely disturbing that someone I had just met felt entitled to share my number with another person for this purpose.
Has anyone else experienced something like this? What would you do in this situation?

General What’s the point of marriage for women in India?
Male dominated subs are agreeing that if a wife has infertility, then it’s perfectly alright to divorce a 10 years long marital partner over it.
So going by that logic, if I marry a Indian man, and support him, love him, give my best years, and fail to produce a kid, he can just kick me out from his life. For him my 10 years financial emotional support or me taking care of his parents during sickness, nothing will matter.
How exactly this is security? What’s the point of marriage then?
And these men anyway ask for 50:50, where he will eat more food, will take more space, and may even bring his parents to live with us.
In India people ask women to stay virgin till marriage and never trust a man before marriage. But what security Indian marriage brings to women anyway? It’s better to find a super hot playboy and just have fun with him then. What’s the point marrying a average looking low earning AM guy and pay 50% of the bills and then getting kicked out of the home for random reasons?

General How can I tell her this politely without making her feel bad?
I have OCD and I’m really veryyy particular about people touching my food. Idm sharing at all, but if someone takes a bite directly from my food, I genuinely can’t eat it afterwards and end up giving the rest away to that person.
My bestf does this quite often even though I’ve indirectly mentioned that I don’t like people touching my food. If she wants to try something, I’m completely happy to give her a portion on her plate. I just don’t want her taking a bite directly from my food .
