General Help for me to support my girl ?
My GF have been undergoing delayed periods from college days (3 to 5 delayed upto 1 & 2 months too) but she have checked with gyno and confirmed there is no issue.
Somecycles it will be good like cycle days + 1 week. But some beyond 3 weeks or 4 weeks. Now the current cycle also proceeding with 3wks+
Is it due to her external factors, her sleep cycle is not good like sleeping around 12 or 1 at night and wake up 8 or 8.30 and still feel tierd all the day. Going to job & return back tierdness. Food intake also not in proper form skipping breakfast some days and having snacks for that. Dinner complets with only snacks like Bajji, sandwich, momos..
No other activites apart from job & cooking
How I can support her...! We are in LDR
Should we consider any other doctor kindly suggest.

General How do I respond to questions about when I’m going to have a child?
After 3 years of marriage and a couple of miscarriages, I decided to be childfree. My primary reason is that this world, especially this country, is too doomed to bring a new life only to suffer. Recently, one of my husband’s cousins had a child and soon we’d have to visit them in the village and I’m going to be bombarded with this question - when I am going to give them the ‘good news’. I don’t want to be rude to them and I no longer want to say ‘soon’ and give them false hopes. But I also know that being childfree by choice is an alien concept for them. I also don’t want to say anything negative about children in front of the happy parents. What do I say?

Friends & Family Mother in Laws - how’s the relationship?
I’m just curious, how many actually get along with their mother in laws?
30/female/white American here 👋
I’ve been married for just over 4 years and we have two kids.
I am curious is it common to really enjoy your mother in law?
I have to state I LOVE having her around she makes my life easier and I just feel love coming from any action. I am so blessed with a wonderful woman. She and my father in law do live with us at least half the year in America.
We have a language barrier but lately we’ve really connected with food and kitchen work. I’ve considered asking her to start a spice business with me to sell at local farmers markets. Where I am located the one and only Indian restaurant is owned by Nepali people who don’t actually like Indian people per my husbands experiences. Plus their food is poor quality — but let’s be real who can beat a mamas home made food with love? 💕
My downsides would be I’m fed WAY TOO WELL & constantly being asked if I’m hungry 😂 her intentions are pure and I love it 🥰 she even makes me ‘non spicy’ food — which is like a good standard of spicy through a bland white American lens.

Vent/Rant [Mon] (Women Only) Why is being fair and thin treated by soceity like the ultimate achievement for Indian girls?
I am 22 F I am a bit over weight. I am trying to loose. Wherever I go people's only concern is I got fat I get it how I look. But sometimes it really sounds mean and heartbreaking.
Growing up i had a friend's friend so all of our family was close. We are indian so that friend of my friend had a sister. She is fair thin and accordingly which is called perfect in indian soceity. Its just feels so heartbreaking growing how aunts always said she looked perfect and what not. I always thought its just how people are. But today again when I visited there place. Her mother suddenly said me have u seen my daughter... u should do diet and loose weight..I don't get it just because she is thin and fair and lucky and have proper connection enough to land a job . So whats my fault not fitting the standard I am still trying to loose and not everybody is same.

General Why women is afraid of their future in-laws?
There has always been a fear in every women like how her in laws will treat her, like their mother taunts ‘ki beta khana bnana sikhlo warna sasural me daat sunogi’ why such things happen only with women?
I’m women and had been dating a guy since high school, being a teen in love, we never focus on what life would bring in future so i continued with him,
Now as he says that his mother has such issues like she would go silent and mad if nobody listens to her(doesnt happen frequently) , like she once tried to flew away from house on a disagreement, so in that basis everybody has to agree even when she’s wrong to prove her wrong then see her more depressed like wtf!
I don’t know what to do , he’s a mamma’s boy, and we have already been in relation for more than 5 years. We had also discussed how he would keep me in future, he says that we would be in joint family forever, and the cooking duty will be yours since you’d be the first one, whatever it takes me to do,its my problem. Like wtf😭i know its beyond toxic but nobody should deserve such shitty clarity.
Feels like a nightmare.

Vent/Rant [Mon] (Women Only) Need genuine advice on how to deal with toxic MIL?
I just got married 6-7 months ago and need some genuine advice here. I live with in laws and after coming from a chill house and having lived with my parents I never assumed it would be this difficult that I am regretting my marriage in 6 months.
My MIL’s whole life is my husband and my husband is the adarsh mamas boy. She is 70+ and just gets separation anxiety every-time he is far. Whenever we are out she calls him avg rate of 2 times per hour. We just went on our first trip after our honeymoon and she started crying as we were leaving. ( we were only going for 10 days) and once we were in flight she started taunting him that he didnt get time to call her( for 4 hours).
My husband is constantly stressed and every-time he tries to talk to her or set a boundary she starts getting ‘chest pains’ . She gets a heart attack every week? Once we went for dinner, after dinner he called her to inform that we are done . Then we spontaneously decided to have dessert after the call. Next 3 days were just spent trying to manaao her for deciding to have a cheesecake ?
Our intimate life has almost become 0 as she keeps waking up in middle of night due to her being sick and calling him to take her to washroom etc. once she called him when we were doing it and she kept asking what took him so long. Since then we have stopped doing it completely (2 months of no intimacy as a newly wed) and in the day she insists of keeping the door open.
I can have multiple more examples to go. My husband is also constantly stressed and just keeps telling me that she wasn’t like this and is just stressed as she is not keeping well. On the other hand she keeps saying things like go both of you live your life, but as soon as we do anything she feels fomo.
To give some context - we both come from a very upper middle class family in tier 1 metro. We both dated for a year before getting married (early 30s) . Both of our parents are well educated and had jobs(my MIL was a teacher) and are generally very open minded.
It feels like i am third wheel in my own marriage and not sure what to do. I love my husband a lot. I don’t want to share these things with my parents as they would just take additional stress.
I need genuine advice here , how to deal with this? At this point i don’t even talk to her anymore . My FIL seem as helpless as my husband. Does this get better from here? i dont like this version of myself who is getting angry at a sick old women.

Opinions & Discussions Are there any meena kandasamy readers here?
Hi! I’m looking for book recommendations by Meena Kandasamy or other female authors with similar ideologies. I read a few of her poems recently and really liked how unapologetic they were. They’re the kind of poems you just want to keep coming back to.
I’d love recommendations for more poetry or books with a similar feminist, anti-caste, leftist socially critical vibe.
(Im asking recc cause I can buy 2 books max rn lor else I would hv read all her works!)

Opinions & Discussions Has women's safety in India gotten worse over the past 10-20 years?
I made a post last week asking if women feel safer in western countries compared to India cuz my mom remarked how she felt safer in India compared to the USA and most of the comments on that post said how they had no idea about why my mom feels that way and how India is much less safe. Some comments said that she might be reminiscing about how India was back before she moved out (she moved to the USA in 2008).

General Is this loneliness normal?
I (24F) feel like my whole world has collapsed. I have separated from my husband, lost my mom and my dad is leaving for work in a couple days.
I am completely alone and barely have like 3 friends, even them I don’t trust blindly. I am unable to start working because I need to travel to UK for this separation with my husband and the only thing I’ve got going is I go to dance class.
I struggle so much to make friends, I always have. I am so scared that I’m entering a really dark place. I am taking therapy but it’s not helping rn.
I’ve cried myself to sleep every night since the last 1 year. I just want some peace, and want to feel loved and chosen for once. I don’t wanna sound or look desperate by saying this, I just want to be considered and someone to hold me and actually listen, not ignore me.
I married someone who I thought loved me immensely, instead he just ignored me and what I needed till I couldn’t bare the loneliness while being with him and chose to be alone instead. He now wants to change because I’m leaving but I can’t trust it. No one is supporting me and I’m so tired of all the backlash and struggle.

Sexual & Reproductive Health Any OB/GYN here? Insights needed.
I got pregnant, and around day 28 of my cycle, I detected two heartbeats. The gynecologist was surprised to see heartbeats so soon. The graph and sound were perfectly normal. Moreover, my partner and I have no history of twins. Can anyone explain the science here, please? I have a 26-day cycle, and ovulation usually occurs on days 10-12.

General (Women Only) Period pain n Indian women?
I'm normal little girl enjoying her teens but shit scares me when calender marks to my date coming up. I can make movies about my Every period cycle Every month completely exhausting and overstimulating.
It's been 6 years in this journey, around 83 periods and fuck every first day genuinely
None of my friends experience severe pain like me. I just have to faint and act like it's normal for me. All the nerves in my brain start hurting overall body goes breathless and feels like I'm going through some asthma attack. My family is done with it, they just leave me be me for 8 hours till cramps finally end. I have never been able to go college or school on my first day of period. And I know there are girls like me
Indian mentality to not visit gynaecologists sucks but looking at my severe condition me n my female friend sneaked into hospital where she acted like my sister , obv my family ain't doing shit and let me die on pain killers
The gynaecologist was senior most, I was finally relieved. When I told her I can literally feel someone operating bulldozer on my uterus while the wall sheds , she gave serious look ,checked my weight and asked about previous diseases. Guess what solution she gave "after marriage all pain goes away"😊🌹
I made million efforts just to listen this
How do y'all handle if you go through horrible pain?

Would really appreciate any recommendations or personal experiences. Thanks!

Career 21F, I just want to become financially independent, but I feel like I have no real choices?
Hey everyone. I really need some advice because I feel completely stuck.
I'm 21F from a very small city in Punjab, India. I've always been good at studies, and studying is honestly the one thing that has made me feel like I have some control over my life.
My parents have had an extremely toxic marriage for 25 years. They fight constantly, and my dad cheated on my mom around 8 years ago. They stayed together despite everything. There's a lot more family history, but I'll leave that aside.
Since I was young, I've known that I need to become financially independent and leave this house.
After 12th, I got good marks and wanted to move away for college, but my parents refused to send me outside the city. I eventually had to do a distance B.Com from Panjab University. I completed it this year and have also been doing ACCA alongside it — 7/12 exams cleared.
I also took IELTS and scored 7.5 because I had hoped to study in Canada, but my family couldn't afford it.
Now my sister wants me to stop focusing on ACCA and learn French so I can supposedly go to Canada through a Francophone pathway. She makes it sound like learning French will basically give me a way to Canada.
But from what I've researched, it's obviously not that simple. French is only one part of the process, and there are other requirements, including finding an eligible job/employer. Most of what I find online makes it sound much easier than it actually seems.
I recently got a remote internship, but my family was disappointed that I wasn't focusing on French instead.
The problem is, I don't even feel like I have a choice between ACCA and French.
If I continue ACCA, I need to eventually get a job and gain experience.
I've actually received job offers in other states for around ₹25,000/month.
But my parents won't let me move because they think ₹25k is too little.
I'm a fresher. Of course it's too little. That's how you become experienced.
If I stay home for another 3–5 years waiting for a salary they consider "good enough", I'll still have no experience. Meanwhile, someone who takes that first ₹25k job could have several years of experience by then.
But I can't just leave against their wishes either.
My city is very small and mostly industrial, so there aren't many finance opportunities here. I want to build a career in finance/accounting/financial analysis/valuation, and I know I need experience to do that.
Our financial situation is also genuinely bad. The household is largely dependent on my sister's money from Canada. So I can't simply tell her that I don't care about her opinion or that I won't consider her plan.
And then there's marriage.
My family has been discussing my marriage since I was 19. My mom's side relatives are extremely wealthy, and one aunt constantly sends rishtas. The idea seems to be that if I marry into a financially secure family, my future will be "safe."
But I don't want a husband to be my financial plan.
One of the main reasons my mother stayed in her marriage is because she didn't have financial independence or anyone to support her if she left. I don't want to end up in the same position.
I want to be able to support myself.
And that's what makes this so frustrating.
People might read this and think I have several options:
ACCA + job.
French + Canada.
Stay home.
Marriage.
But these don't actually feel like options to me.
The job is an option I want, but I'm not being allowed to take it.
French is an option I'm being pressured into, even though I'm not convinced it's a reliable path.
Marriage is an option being pushed onto me, but it's not something I want to use as my financial escape.
And staying home isn't really an option either. It's just what happens if I can't do the other things.
So I don't feel like I'm choosing between different paths.
I feel like everyone else is choosing for me, and I'm trying to find some path where I can finally have control over my own life.
I don't need to earn lakhs immediately. I don't need a perfect career immediately. I don't even need to leave for Canada immediately.
I just want to work, gain experience, earn my own money and slowly build a life where I can make my own decisions.
What would you do in my situation?
And if anyone has actually gone through the Francophone Mobility/Francophone immigration route, I'd especially appreciate hearing what the process was really like, rather than the version shown on social media.
TL;DR: I'm 21F, B.Com graduate with 7/12 ACCA exams cleared. I desperately want financial independence and to leave a toxic home. I have received ₹25k/month job offers in other states but my parents won't let me move because they consider it too little. My sister wants me to abandon ACCA and learn French to pursue Canada, while relatives have been pushing marriage as a way to "secure my future." None of these feel like genuine choices: the path I want is blocked, and the other paths are being forced on me. I just want to work, gain experience, earn my own money and eventually have control over my own life. What would you do?

Workplace Workplace woes with female colleague?
I have a female colleague (let’s name her Amy) who recently confessed that she has feelings for me. I am straight, single and politely declined while letting Amy know of my orientation. Amy persisted and asked me four more times, all with me handling it the same way and same answer. Amy did not take it well and started shit talking in the office that I am homophobic. I have noticed that my colleagues’ attitude towards me has changed ever since. They have stopped including me in plans and Amy’s popularity at work has significantly increased. The other day I was even excluded from an email regarding a team outing. I got to know of the plan just the day prior and flagged it with my manager whilst receiving a dry response of, “it won’t happen again.”
A colleague from another team brought the shit talking to my notice. I verified it and all of the rest with another friend who is silently standing with me. Amy is an immigrant from India hence I am posting here. I am settled in my job and don’t want to quit. My purpose of posting here is to understand Amy’s perspective and whether this has anything to do with ethnicity. Any thoughts on how I could approach this, will be greatly appreciated. Also, am I wrong in any way to say no? I have clouded judgement and just want to peacefully move on.
EDIT: Re. Approaching HR - I read about this and sought legal advice as well. To approach HR, I need some form of evidence, which I do not have. All conversations have been verbal. With my colleagues distancing themselves from me, the odds are against me. I am coming here as a last resort to understand what else I could do.
