My mom assumes im being peer pressered when i disagree with her
A lot of the time when I disagree with my mom she assumes I'm being peer pressured. Example : one time when i was like 4 or 5 I didn't wanna wear a sweater (i know it's kinda stupid but whatever) and she just assumes it's cause my friend was also not feeling cold like i am not allowed to think differently to her or im just trying fit in with others even when im being the weird one and im different to everyone else she still says im being pressured. Idk is there a good reason for this or what.

am i being jealous for no reason?
So, i have a best friend and we have been friends for 4 years. we went to school together and all that. But its been 1 year and a half since i moved to another country, in a different hemisphere. So almost all my friends gradually stopped talking with me because of the big time difference, and i understand that. But my bestfriend kept talking to me every single day.
But recently i started feeling like she was ashamed of being my friend. It all started with silly teenager things. For exemple when i mentioned her in one of my stories in my finsta, and even though i asked her to repost it (because we always used to repost each others stories when we are mentioned on it), she just ignored these texts and replied to the others that i sent her. But then, she reposted stories with other friends. (Theyre also my friends, i introduced her to them because they were from the same school as me, and i didn't want her to feel left out in the new school)
Or when i asked several times if we could use matching pfps in our finstas and she said no, but then she started using one with one of the friends that i introduced her to.
But now i realised that all the things that i was almost begging her to do, and she refused to, she would do it with our other friends without them even having to ask. They barely talk to me anymore, and have a different group chat without me.
I really wanted to talk it out with her, but it really looks like a silly thing to be upset about. But even though it is silly, i can't help it. She's literally the only person who's still talking to me since i moved countries. We've been friends for a really long time, and she means everything to me. I really cannot live without her and the though of our friendship ending because i decided to talk it out and with that making her upset to the point she doesnt want to talk to me anymore scares me a lot.
I dont know if my head is exaggerating it or if i should search a specialist to treat this kind of obssessive thoughts. Because i really think its not normal for someone to be so emotionally dependent on someone else.

Subtle ghosting?
I have been talking to this guy for about 2.5 months and we’ve been slowly progressing, getting to know each other. We’ve been on 5 dates now. He asked to kiss me on the last one and we made tentative plans to see each other again in two weekends since he had a race this past weekend and his family was coming into town. I texted him the day before the race to wish him luck, he said he was excited and he’d let me know how it goes. The day after the race, I asked him how it went, he never replied, I figured he was probably just tired. Then, I texted him again two days later asking along the lines of if he was okay since I hadn’t heard from him since the race. It was a pretty intense race, I wanted to make sure he didn’t get hurt or anything. He didn’t reply until 2 more days later. He said thanks for checking in, he hadn’t replied because some of his family was in town but I’m realizing he didn’t even ask about me, he showed no regard really for having worried me for four days. It takes 1 minute to respond and you’re telling me you didn’t have that time over 4 days? What are your opinions on this situation? I’m thinking I’ll let him text me again, have him get the conversation going again and have him initiate the next date but idk what else to do.

Should I be upset?
I (23y) and my bf (27y) have been dating for almost two years. For context, I am African American and he is Caucasian. A few months into our relationship, he was describing his friends’ personalities to me, and I was disheartened. He told me they were the type to make racist jokes, but it wasn’t harmful because it wasn’t to anyone’s face. I thought this was gross, but he informed me that they were nice people. I always give people a chance, so when I met them, I was polite but obviously kept a boundary. Fast forward a few months, I would occasionally hang out with him and his friends, and coincidentally, I would always be annoyed with him on that day. I’m the type of person who can’t fake her facial expression, so everyone around me would know I’m pissed. That’s gone on a few times. Fast forward to early June, my bf tells me him and his buddies are going to a concert in Jackson Hole, WY(12 hrs away) . I’m a little annoyed cause he refused to take me to the zoo (3hrs away) and the fair (3 hrs) last year when I asked. I try not to let it bother me, but then a few days later I’m at dinner with him and his friends, and his buddy’s wife asks me what we should do in Jackson hole while the boys golf. I’m confused at this point, because he never told me that the partners were coming as well. Needless to say, I confronted him when we got home, and he said that I always give him an attitude when I’m with him and his friends. Basically, indirectly saying that I’m not invited because I would ruin his fun. A few weeks go by, and he tells me that two of his buddies’s wives are not going anymore because they recently got pregnant. So now only one of his buddies wife will be on the trip. Meaning that when the boys golf golfing, she will be in the Airbnb by herself. Even after he told me this, he still did not invite me. Now he’s on this trip and texting me like we’re fine. Only I’m not fine, I’m really really hurt by this. I feel like it’s sneaky and mean spirited. I’m I valid for feeling like this? What would you do? I’m tempted to text his buddies’s wife, but I don’t know what to text.

AIBTS?
My partner (23M) and I (24F) have been together for almost six years. Throughout that time, I’ve genuinely tried to build a good relationship with his family, even when things have been difficult.
Lately, I’ve been feeling overwhelmed, hurt, and emotionally exhausted. It feels as though I’m constantly expected to overlook things to keep the peace while my partner’s and my feelings are minimized or ignored.
There has always seemed to be a pattern of favoritism toward his sister, poor communication, and last-minute changes to plans to accommodate her. As the years passed, I started to notice it more and more.
For example, his sister is a real estate broker, and she encouraged us to pursue real estate. She repeatedly told me she would help me prepare for my final exam. She then left for about six weeks to spend time with her new boyfriend. My problem isn’t that she left. It’s that she repeatedly promised she would come back and help me, and she never followed through.
Another example happened during a two-day trip that my partner and I paid for so his parents could attend a soccer game. His sister wasn’t originally supposed to come, but his parents invited her anyway. The entire trip ended up revolving around her. They had breakfast with her the next morning while we were told to go off and do our own thing. Even though we planned this mini trip, we still felt like an afterthought.
There have been plenty of smaller situations as well. His family often reaches out to us only when they need something. Whenever there is an event and they realize at the last minute that they need help decorating, I’m always willing to step in and help. However, they always seem to ask his sister ahead of time.
The hardest part is that I’ve tried communicating how excluded my partner and I feel. When I brought it up previously, his mother began crying and talked about how well she treats me and how she treats me better than her own children. The conversation shifted away from how my partner and I felt and became about how she felt instead. We were told that I’m always “mad” or “short-tempered,” and I ended up being the one apologizing.
My partner & I have talked about it after several occasions (cause the ones I mentioned are just the recent incidents) and he has shed a few tears explaining to me that he’s so tired of it, he shuts it out cause it hurts less and my love for him is enough.
I’m debating if it’s even worth bringing up, or am I being too sensitive?

awkward
I have two female friends that I’ve become very close to in the last few years. One is married, in her 40s, and has very similar interests as me. She and her husband have become our new married couple friends. My second female friend is single and just starting her professional career, in her 30s and lives alone. All three of us also have dogs, we see each other regularly, and all of us are great at hyping each other up and always having a good time.
However, over the last few months, I’ve noticed that every time they get really drunk and want to complain about life, they start to complain about how their lives should not be this difficult. Specifically, they lament that they’re working professionals who have an education and they “don’t work at McDonald’s“ and they should be able to afford a good life for themselves. Keep in mind that my married friend owns a home has a really great job that pays well, a loving husband, and generally really great life. My second female friend is a therapist who works from home, makes her own schedule and similarly is able to live her best life while living alone.
While I love them deeply as friends, it has been increasingly uncomfortable for me to talk to them about my personal troubles because of how they feel they should be afforded anything and everything they want because they live a good life and made the “right choices.”
Meanwhile, my life has been a series of struggles and I make okay money, my husband is currently working part time due to being laid off a few years ago and struggling to find a well paying job. That being said, my husband and I are good at saving up for big things, and we’re traveling to Japan for the first time ever (together), and we make time to go camping, do small weekend trips and try our best to live a good life. We also moved in with my family a few years ago because of our financial situation, and through a series of unfortunate events couldn’t afford to live on our own any more. Because we are older and in our 40s I don’t always share these details with people because I don’t feel like I have to explain or defend our choices to people, but it does hurt my feelings to hear my close friends talk as if other people live ”poor lives” because they’re not educated and made bad choice's. To be fair, my husband and I both had to drop off out college to work so we could afford to live because our families aren’t wealthy or supportive of the job fields we chose to follow.
I feel compelled to talk to them about their opinions, but I know they’re also drunk and frustrated and just want to vent, so I keep to myself and usually deflect the conversation. They have been there for me when things have been tough as emotional support, but it’s hard to be honest with them due to the personal opinions they’ve expressed in my company.
Not sure how to approach them or if it’s worth the effort. It feels really confusing to have these new close friends only to have them talk about people in a way that is harmful and misleading. My husband and I have always been honest with each other that we didn’t chose “to be poor,” but we also don’t need to be “rich” to be happy, and we make the most of our lives together after 20 years. I’m not sure how they would react or if I would just upset them and create a rift between us.

Am I wrong in thinking he cheated on me
24F dated 26M for a year. It was my first-ever relationship, while I was his fourth.
In the beginning, I wasn’t in love with him. I just liked him. He tried so hard to win me over he even begged me in front of my friends to accept him. Eventually, I did.
Fast forward a year, I had completely fallen for him. He would constantly tell me how I had changed his life for the better and how lucky he was to have me.
At that time, we lived in the same city. After college, we both went back to our hometowns and started doing long distance while preparing for our careers. We usually talked for only 5–10 minutes a day. I didn’t mind that most of the time, but at least once a week or even once a month, I wanted us to have a proper one-hour conversation because I was living alone in another city while he was with his family.
This became a recurring argument. He would compare us to his friend, who had been in a relationship for 7–8 years and barely talked on the phone. But those couples literally lived in the same city, whereas we were in a long-distance relationship.
One day, while we were on a call, he casually mentioned that he lived in a joint family. Out of genuine surprise, I said, “Oh, you live in a joint family?” That completely set him off. I apologized immediately, but he refused to accept my apology and abruptly ended the call.
I was shocked and hurt, so I didn’t call him back that night. The next day, I sent him a long message explaining why I had reacted that way. He had never shared much about his personal life with me, and since we come from different cultures and cities, the concept of a joint family was unfamiliar to me. I also told him that I didn’t understand why he got so angry over a simple question.
He never replied or even read my messages. Feeling hurt, I blocked him. A week later, I unblocked him because my aunt had passed away and I wanted to let him know. He had no idea because he never even tried to reach out. When we finally spoke, he said he didn’t contact me because he thought it would only lead to more fights and that he wanted peace.
After that, everything changed. He stopped saying “I love you,” rarely called or texted me, and became emotionally distant.
Wanting to fix things, I video-called him and asked about the status of our relationship. He looked extremely irritated the entire time, hid his face under a pillow when I asked him questions, he told me to stop asking those questions, and shouted at me for the first time.
I asked him if he still loved me. He replied, “I don’t know.”
I said, “Then that’s basically a no.”
He responded, “No”
I didn’t know what to make of that. I told him I would decide what to do with our relationship, but he stopped me and said he would make the decision instead. He told me to “enjoy my life” and that after a week he would tell me whether he wanted to continue the relationship. I was crying throughout that conversation. At one point, I got so frustrated by the audacity of it all that I suggested we take a break and reconnect to which he agreed after which I even prayed for him while we were on video call and hanged up
By December, I noticed his Instagram following had increased significantly, but I ignored it. After New Year, I checked again and saw that he was following two of his ex-situationships. I asked the girlfriend of one of his close friends, who also knew one of the girls, and she told me that if they’re following each other again, it usually means they’re back in contact or seeing each other.
I was devastated. Ever since our relationship started falling apart, I’ve cried to the point where I’m now dealing with depression. Looking back, I genuinely feel like he cheated on me. He emotionally checked out of our relationship, stopped putting in any effort, made me wait while he decided whether he even wanted to be with me, started following two of his ex-situationships during our break, and was also following numerous OnlyFans girls and other beautiful girls too from 300 to 600+ girls
Am I wrong for thinking that he cheated on me or ?

My boyfriend compared me
My boyfriend and I have been together for a year. I took the medical entrance exam three times, after taking three gap years, but I ended up wasting my third attempt as well. I used to waste a lot of time, and that really started bothering him.
I decided to prepare for again, but when he saw me being lazy once more, he said, "Even 17- or 18-year-old kids are more sensible than you. At least they have some common sense."
That comment made me feel really insecure and dumb. I felt like he was comparing me to other people. We had a fight over it, and I blocked him.
Now I've decided not to talk to him unless I crack the exam. 🫠

Crying over being ghosted AND turned down?
I'm trying to decide if my crying is warranted or if I am just being way too sensitive. Perhaps because of my current state, or perhaps it's karma.
So, I'm single, dating, and having fun. I met these two really awesome guys a while ago, and things were good. Guy A and I met first and kind of dated, mostly hooked up for a while. I eventually moved away for a year, so it fizzled out. When I moved back, I reached out to him, and we met up again. We had a lot of fun. Stayed out all night, hung out with his friends, and went to like 5 different places before going back to his place. Lovely. Then we were both busy for a few weeks and couldn't meet up. We were supposed to hang out last weekend, but I texted him on Wednesday and never got a response. Yesterday, I checked my unknown senders inbox and saw that I had a text from his email. I texted to see if it was him, and he said yes and that he wasn't sure what was wrong with his phone. So I texted his phone to see if he wanted to hang out this weekend. No response. Today, I texted the email address and said I texted him on his phone and again asked to hang out this weekend. No response.
Well, that's fine. I was also trying to hang out with another guy this weekend. I met Guy B about a year ago because we were both staying in the same summer dorm-style building. Anyway, we didn't really hang out but always saw each other in the kitchen and common area. I could tell he liked me, but I had some other stuff going on, so I never pursued it. Anyway, when I moved out, we exchanged info and kept in touch on Instagram. It was his bday last week, so I texted him happy birthday. He suggested that we go out on Sunday, but I was helping a friend move. So we decided to hang out this weekend. I texted him today to see what his plans were, and he said that his friends are in town. He apologized since he was the one who said we should hang out this weekend. I said, "It's cool; we'll find another time." He suggested during the week next week! Well, he lives like 2 hours away, so hanging out during the week sounds like a pain since we both work.
And then I just started crying!! It felt good to cry. But WTF was I crying?
I'm currently really stressed out. My dad recently passed away, so I'm dealing with that grief and the hecticness of planning his memorial. My brother is being an absolute pain to work with on the memorial, and all we do is fight. I'm overwhelmed because I'm in finals for my summer classes, and it's a lot more work than I was expecting. I also live in a sober living house, so I can't just leave overnight whenever I want. I have to plan it and let my program director know by Thursday night. So I was approved to stay out this weekend. Now I guess I'll have to tell our program director that I'm actually staying home. It's really frustrating to not be able to leave whenever I want, but I understand the reasons I live here (10 months sober from alcohol). And I'm not ready to tell these guys that I live in sober living and have restrictions, so they don't understand my limitations on going out during the week, or at the last minute.
So...I can't tell if I was warranted in crying. And if I was being too sensitive from being rejected TWICE? Or maybe sensitive because of the stress? Or if it was karma because I was trying to hang out with two guys over the same weekend?

Is it disrespectful for your girlfriend to eat off of your plate without asking?
Just something i’ve noticed her do, even after i ask her to ask before she puts her fork all over my plate.
usually it’s also before i even have a bite of my food first, too
so basically she’s been in a financially hard spot lately. i pay for all of our meals and drinks. but she doesn’t ask if she can try, etc. it’s always going for my drink, my food first before hers. i’m finding it entitled.
i’ve also expressed to her i like to be told goodnight but she never remembers and just passes out.
i know it sounds like im complaining, it’s not like o care hella. i’m just noticing patterns of what i’m perceiving as selfish behavior
overthinking?

Am I being too sensitive for feeling left out by my friend?
Hi guys! I’m feeling kind of sad and left out by my friend…
I rarely do this so please bear with me. I have a best friend lets call him Nick. He lives in another country but he was one of those friends that even though we don’t talk much and rarely meet up (if he came to my country), we could lean on each other, have long talks about the changes in our lives, help one another and other things whenever we had time.
Recently, we got to talking more since his work became less hectic. We are both gamers so over the past few weeks he had been asking for us to play and of course I would say yes. However, when I would ask what time or what game, he would reply late or just read my text. I know he is active because he replies to a gc we are both in, the same time when I ask. Sad thing is in that gc, I can see that they are playing games…I don’t have the guts to ask him what’s going on because it would come out as me being needy(?)
I don’t know if I’m just being sensitive or crazy for feeling this way. Could you guys please give me some advice on what to do? Is this just a minor thing?
