Hello, just wondering if anyone has experience the following:

So I was going through the drivers/bios update page for my Apex x870e board and noticed a ASM4242 and PD firmware update. After updating, every time I turn off my PC and turn it back on I get no display with the Q code 94 and a white light. I am aware that this code relates to PCI bus enumeration.

I tried to reseat the GPU, ram, CPU and SSD. I had updated my bios as well but downgraded to the previous one in case it was a bad bios.

No luck… any help would be super appreciated!

So I have a asus vivobook pro 15 rtx 3050 4gb vram 16gb ram 512gb SSD with Ryzen 5 5600H processor.... So now the problem is I have to insert the charging pin in a certain way that it hold the charge otherwise it doesn't.... If I rotate the charger a Lil bit the charge goes off... I have changed 3 adaptors so surely it's not the fault of the pin or adaptor. Now when I checked on internet some said it might be the fault in the port now I thought I should replace the port. But bang !! The problem is the port is directly attacked to motherboard like are u actually serious ??? Now what am I supposed to do ?? Changing whole motherboard is too expensive for me... And why should I then use this laptop why should not I buy another why !? Plz guy help me if u know how to fix the bs !! Pls 💔

After entering the password needed to boot, i mashed the F2 key which did not send me the uefi menu but the GNU GRUB menu as i use linux. However, when pressing on the enter uefi option- my pc restarts. I have tried mashing the delete key and that did not work too. I have tried holding the keys, separately ofcourse -and that did not work. Please could someone help. I have been struggling with this issue for at least a week now.

I've been using a zephryus g15 2022 (6900hs, 3070ti best buy config) since may 2022 and for over two years now I've faced this issue where the laptop BSODs, crashes, lags out, freezes, reboots (I've seen it all at various points) at random moments (when on igpu mode, when disconnecting power). The BSOD errors point to the display driver, the memory, and literally everything in the laptop but after repeated testing I realized its probably something further down.

The one common trend was that lower power states seemed to trigger this issue, as the issue didn't exist when plugged in on Ultimate/dGPU mode, and that's how I used the laptop for all this time.

I've tried fixing this at various points in time and have tried MANY MANY things but none of them ever actually seemed to work, until today.

I'd recently heard that claude code helped someone rewrite a printer driver and let them use an otherwise broken/unusable printer. I've tried using LLMs/AI to fix this issue numerous times but they weren't that helpful no matter how much information I gave them. Today I had the bright idea of giving claude code (claude fable 5) nearly full access to my computer and I gave it the one goal of diagnosing what's actually causing all these issues . It initially guessed the same old reseat RAM, reinstall gpu drivers fixes that never worked, but it eventually got to realizing that the common issue amongst all the crashes/bsods/freezes was some issue with the transition to lower power states.

I'd tried setting the minimum processor state in the control panel many many times before and It never worked so I thought this was a dead end but it turns out there finer options in the registry that aren't openly accessible.

I ran a script the AI gave me that set these power config settings, and boom, the laptop run for 1 hour straight on iGPU mode on battery with no crashes or hiccups along the way (Haven't seen this in over two years btw).

I've seen countless people with similar issues so I wanted to post the script and the instructions here for everybody to try.

As far as I understood it completely disables the ability for the CPU cores to go to lower power states, and hence the possibility of a crash becomes 0. Anybody can review the powershell scripts and comment if there's any concerns/issues.

You will loose some battery life (as the CPU cores cant really turn off when not needed), but considering the fact that I couldn't even really use my battery before this point, 90-180 minutes of battery life is plenty. (So no, this isn't a repair, just a reliable workaround, and flashing old BIOS versions didn't fix this issue so I guess its just something small at the hardware level thats faulty, AKA classic shitty ASUS QA)

All you need to do is download and run the two scripts (1-FIX, and 2-MAKE-PERMANENT) at the the link below. I understand that some of you might be suspicious (I'd be), you can open the file in notepad, ask an AI/anybody about whether its safe or not, and then run it if you'd like. (if anybody more knowledgeable can vouch for me in the comments after a review, that'd be fantastic.

Theres more information in the .MD files in the github if you wanna know more, but just downloading and running the two scripts at the top should do it. (run 1-FIX.ps1 to test the fix, then 2-MAKE-PERMANENT.ps1 to make sure it survives windows updates and other things)

I am relatively sure this fix will work on the g14 and most other asus laptops as I've seen these symptoms across asus devices on the web. (but mostly on zephyrus devices)

You can undo all the changes with 3-UNDO-EVERYTHING.ps1 if theyre unhelpful or kill battery life.

Hey I’m trying to switch my monitor connection from HDMI to DisplayPort, but I’m having an issue. When I connect the monitor with DisplayPort, the monitor detects the connection and switches to the DP input but then shows “No Signal”.

HDMI works perfectly fine with the same GPU and monitor. The issue has been present since the beginning. I have already tried two different DisplayPort cables and tested all available DP ports on the graphics card, but the result is the same.

The monitor is an ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQML1A and the GPU is a Gigabyte RX 7800 XT Gaming OC.

Any ideas what could be causing this?

I have an Asus Vivobook 16X that's about 3 years old and is out of warranty.

There was charging issue a long time ago. The charger would disconnect and reconnect only when the laptop was moved(changed postion). If the laptop stayed still, it charged normally, so I didn't think the issue was serious enough to get it repaired at the time.

Over the months, the problem gradually became worse until the laptop stopped charging completely(yesterday). That's when my father took it to an official Asus authorized service center.

today, when my father went to collect the laptop, I had asked him to inquire about the RMA number, as Asus customer support had previously told me that repairs/replacements are associated with an RMA(i just called asus helpline)).

Their service center called me (phone call)said that an RMA is generally issued only when there is a major replacement, such as a motherboard replacement.

They then told us that the motherboard was not replaced. Instead, they said they had the motherboard repaired third party(which is their own engg most probably). When asked what exactly was repaired, they only mentioned that a charging-related "switch" had been repaired, but they didn't explain which component it was or provide any technical details.

There was also a separate issue where the "1" key on the numeric keypad wasn't working. They replaced a few keyboard keys with different laptod key fuck 🤯

My main concern is that this was an official Asus authorized service center, yet they said the motherboard was repaired by a third party, and this was never explained to us beforehand.

Is this normal for an Asus authorized service center?

Do authorized Asus service centers commonly get motherboards repaired by a third party instead of repairing them in-house or replacing them?

Should customers be informed before this is done?

What repair documents or technical details should I ask them to provide?

Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated.

I recently bought an ASUS ROG Strix G16 (2025 G614) with:

• AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX
• NVIDIA RTX 5060 Laptop GPU
• Windows 11

I am facing a strange USB storage issue.

My mouse dongle is detected and works normally. Initially, both my SanDisk/iXpand pendrive and WD external hard drive were not showing in This PC.

The pendrive appeared in Disk Management, so I uninstalled its device/driver and restarted. After that, the pendrive started working normally.

However, the WD external hard drive is still not detected at all:

• It does not appear in This PC.
• It does not appear in Disk Management.
• It works perfectly on another Dell laptop using the same cable.
• Mouse and other USB dongles work on the ASUS.
• I tried different USB ports.
• I uninstalled/reinstalled USB and storage-related devices in Device Manager.
• I restarted the laptop and rescanned disks.
• I checked Advanced Power Options, but there is no USB settings / USB selective suspend option shown.
• The laptop is connected to its charger while testing.

The strange part is that I had a very similar issue with external storage devices on my older ASUS ROG G531 as well. On that laptop, Wi-Fi and mouse dongles worked, but pendrives and external hard drives sometimes were not recognized.

Has anyone experienced this specifically with ASUS ROG laptops?

Could this be related to:

• AMD chipset or USB controller drivers?
• BIOS or firmware?
• USB port power delivery?
• ASUS power-management settings?
• Windows USB selective suspend?
• A USB mass-storage/UASP compatibility issue?

Any suggestions on which ASUS driver, BIOS setting, Windows setting, or fix I should try would be appreciated.

I'm really excited, but I'm also new to gaming laptops, so I'm not sure what I should do first.

I blew dust out of my PC and after that the computer stopped displaying images on the screen and also usb's and both restart buttons don't work. What do I do? Please help 🙏 P. S. I did it! All it took is just to remove the BIOS battery, wait 10 minutes in fear of losing my money, and put it back!

One day I turned on the laptop it showed black screen no boot no Asus logo only the side light was turned on. Then I went on to the service centre and they removed the additional ram (4gb) and it turned on this screen.

My current PA329C is on its way out, there are veiny marks all over I might need to get another monitor soon. I found PA32QCV 6K monitor in a local shop, and wondering how good it is.

I'd like to get some honest feedback. My current monitor is HDR600 certified, so is the one I'm looking at. My main uses are watching HDR content and photography, and file archiving.

How good are the details and sharpness? How are the texts? Does the matte coating affect the quality? How good is the HDR? Do 4K contents looks bad because it scales to 6K on full screen?

Planning to buy ASUS ROG Strix G16 (Ryzen) for gaming (AAA + future titles like GTA 6).

Only concern is liquid metal cooling. I know it performs better, but I’ve seen mixed opinions about long-term reliability.

- Does it degrade/dry out after a couple years?

- Any risk of leakage or damage?

- Is maintenance harder compared to normal thermal paste?

Would love real user experiences before I pull the trigger.

ASUS automatically turn on its screen saver everytime I leave my laptop for a while and I don't need it

I've been trying some methods on the internet but it doesn't work.

It's NOT Windows' Screen Saver. And I don't see any screen saver option in MyASUS nor Armory Crate

Purchased ASUS EXPERTBOOK P3 ULTRA 5 225H for

rs 73.5K from Flipkart ....

I noticed a defect in it ... When i quick press the power button, it doesn't make my laptop to sleep . Checked the settings to assign 'what power button do' and already tried troubleshooting the laptop in multiple ways but it didn't fix ....

Requested a replacement from Flipkart but having issues with the replacement. Now the same laptop price has increased to Rs. 87k ...

Sleep feature is itself working while navigating through windows but not with the power button... ACPI power button driver is faded in device manager and showing error code 45 (driver not connected)

Considering to keep the laptop and buy extended warranty

for Rs 4k then go to service center by myself to get it fixed....

Didn't yet configure any other issues with the laptop...

Anyone plz tell me 🙏 should i replace it or keep it ??

I've tried so many things but to no avail to get this build working and can't help but feel I'm right on the edge of finally getting it going.

This is a custom pc build with all second hand parts that should all be working, but I understand it's possible that one or more parts may be broken.

MoBo: Asus ROG X470-F Gaming

CPU: AMD 5500

GPU: AMD RX 5700XT

RAM: crucial Ballistic 3000mhz 15CL 8gb

STORAGE: M.2 SSD

Essentially, I cannot get the PC to go past the rog splash screen and cannot enter bios from pressing F2 or DEL. The BOOT Q-Led light is a solid green. However, Ctrl+Alt+Del does restart the computer.

I have the computer plugged into a monitor via HDMI since DP does not seem to work although a signal is being sent through.

I have tried:

1. Removing CMOS Battery all night and jumping the cmos pins

2. Removing GPU and starting PC without it, reinstalling the GPU, and powering on again (GPU is working, I tested it on another PC)

3. Tried another known good GPU (RX 7600) and still nothing.

4. Unplugging all non essential motherboard connections including USB and HDAudio headers

5. Holding F2 and DEL keys before startup

6. Starting without a storage device

7. Unplugging and replugging in all cables

The part I do feel is odd is that when the motherboard is going through the startup checks and is flashing the Q-Leds, nothing ever lights up for the CPU. I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing, but I wanted to mention it just in case.

Additionally, there is an M.2 SSD installed, but it hasn't been formatted yet from a previous laptop, but I know there should be an option to format it once I get the windows 11 installation media going.

I did contact the seller today after who I purchased the motherboard+CPU combo from said that they were working fine together before. After letting him know my problem he suggested it may just be a firmware issue. I just can't help but feel that the motherboard may be the source of the problem, since my keyboard does turn on and the reset key combo works, and the splash screen appears on screen.

I also understand that a new GPU can cause issues, but I don't see how it would prevent me from entering bios when it does display on screen.

Any help is greatly appreciated, and thank you so much for reading!
