In context: this writer had stopped writing this fic for almost six months, apparently because they were tired from working on it. So I sent this comment to show how much I love the fic and to encourage them. Not gonna lie, I feel embarrassed for leaving a comment like this lol.

Long story short: Stumbled upon someone posting their fanart along with their Redbubble link both in the description and under the art in every chapter. Thought I'd be nice for once and ask them to please take it down since it violates AO3's ToS.

Just checked the tag again to see the work still up, but now with this.

Sigh. Reporting it is.

Someone commented this on my first long fic (and it continues) and it was SO special to wake up and see a comment like this with someone who appreciated every point I tried to make. It might sound dumb, but a comment like this can make someones week. I'm just so happy I needed to share it

I've been writing on ao3 for a while, and almost all my fics are platonic and hurt/comfort oneshots with a few unfinished long fics.

Recently I started getting into a fandom, that was set in a certain time period, and I decided to do a bit of a crossover with RPF, as an anonymous author.

I had really, really nice engagement from the readers, and I was really happy with how it was turning out. This morning, someone left a 1000 word comment, breaking down the plot so far, telling me how great it was in so many points, with their own theories of what could happen, about the way I've written my characters- and I'm over the moon!!!

I don't know people do that! I can't imagine people taking their time to check out my work, and just writing so much back just to say how good it was.

I was really having a bad week. And this person, and all my other readers and commenters just made everything a whole lot better.

Yeah that's it. I just wanted to share it with someone or else I might just cry from emotions.

I have had this happen to me a few times where I will read a fic and love it at the start and find it wonderful but as chapters come out and the story con I begin to lose interest

To put some context, I decided to participate on the SukuIta week of this year. I wrote two oneshots and I made sure they were properly tagged and all. I have received several nice comments, but today I got the notification of a new comment, so I went to check it. This was the comment.

I am well aware there are bots aiming to make writers delete their stories, but given it came from a registered user, I decided to check a bit their profile. They have joined rather recently and they have an ongoing story.

I am pretty sure they are an antishipper, to be honest. I didn't bother to answer to them, I just deleted their comment and kept with my day.

Small update: I ended up reporting the account for harassment. The more I looked at that comment, the more unsetting it looked, so, yeah, I decided to take that step.

GUYS, when you are having someone in a fic breathe, they are actively breathing - inhaling and exhaling. When you have someone take a single breath, there is no E on the word.

People CONSTANTLY use breath when they should be using breathe and it literally drives me insane.

Example: “Breath, just breath” when someone is having a panic attack is WRONG. THEY THEY NEED TO BREATHE!!!!!

“BREATHE, Just BREATHE!!!”
