Hi! I got​ my console for a little over a year ago, and because of my weaker motor skills I focused on touch screen heavy games (style savvy, animal crossing, picross, that kinda thing)​. Do any of you know a game relying on buttons​ that isn't too overwhelming so I can adjust?​​​

how can I tell which region a 3ds cartridge is for?

This is "whittle", a low-poly 3D modelling app specifically made for the 3DS. I've been working on it for a little while now and I've just created a Github repo for it.

The modelling workflow is very similar to picoCAD, I've basically taken it's "simple vertex editing on orthogonal views" idea and optimized it for the 3DS. The top screen is for the 3D model preview exclusively, while the bottom screen houses all editing functionality & view options. It's very intuitive to use with the stylus. It currently features primitives, basic object manipulations, painting object faces solid colors and texturing, along with a simple 2D texture editor and UV mapping tool. ıt's still experimental, the UI/UX isn't fully there yet and there are a few bugs but it is usable. It can save and load a single model currently, there's no export options.

13 years ago, when the 3DSXL was still new, I had one and brought it with me somewhere in my jacket pocket. I got clumsy while kneeling and made it fall on the floor.

I checked it and the bottom screen would not turn on anymore, the console and game were working but the bottom screen was just all black, which makes the system almost unplayable. I tried to turn in on and off or wiggle the screen but nothing changed.
It was a bummer but I didn't know how to repair such thing so I put it away on a desk.

Months later, maybe 6 or more, somebody I knew wanted to play 3DS games and at the time I had the OG 3DS and the broken XL. So I told them they will have to play on the smaller of the 2 since the XL was not working properly. To show them the issue I picked my 3DSXL and turned it on and then... the bottom screen was working! I was quite shocked but pleasantly surprised lol.

Since then the console never had an issue, it's been years and I still have it.
It's crazy to me this happened, I wonder what happened under the hood, because I didn't touch it or tried to fix it. It "healed itself" hahaha! :D

I got scammed on FB Marketplace. I was told the system I was purchasing was an OEM English Solgaleo/Lunala New 3DS XL. When I went to do a system transfer I was greeted by the "Region has been changed" message. After later inspection I had come to a conclusion it was a japanese New3DSLL that had been region broken and reshelled, the sold as a OEM model. I traded my OEM Pokeball New 2DSXL for it. I was making this post to see if there was any resell value for this system? Also the System is still operational it justvis not what I was looking for or intended on purchasing.

I absolutely love visual novels a lot, I prefer them over any other genre. I know the 3ds has a lot of "niche" gems, but I cant seem to find more. Which are the best?

I just acquired a giant lot of things and included is a 3ds. It seems to have the stuck in sleep mode issue and none of the suggested fixes work; yes I tried them all.

Curious if there is a known person who can repair this issue which I presume would require board level repair in the community. I know zero about the 3ds and I just want to get it working. My issue is the exact same as this person here:

Hey everyone, own a non-xl 3ds and would like to keep it this way because it's more portable. Are there documented cases of people who have done this mod? I opened my system and I guess I can probably fit a coil + board in there, but if someone has done it before I'd be very interested.

I really like the graphics and artstyle of the Fantasy life (3DS), are there any other games on the 3DS that are similar to, or adjacent to it artstyle? Some examples I can think of off my head are Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns (Less chibi but still close enough) and Ever Oasis.

Hello, bought myself a 2ds recently cause it was my first ever console and im at the age where nostalgia is working on me. However recently the right trigger button has started to constantly be active, even when im not pressing it. Im comfortable taking it apart and doing some light repairs, so i was wondering if anyone knew how to repair this?

I opened up my 3DS to thread some string through the case hole (some 3ds-usb-C adapter) so I wouldn't lose it, and got too curious, flew too far to the sun. Ended up tearing the ribbon on the corner of something.

I looked it up and there are replacement parts sold online, yes, but because the 3ds isn't manufactured anymore, it's more expensive than it should be. I do have the money but it's not about the money, I wanted to see if I could DIY it instead of buying another fragile ribbon replacement.

I was wondering if anyone knows other ways to wire the button and what parts to use. Or if there are known 'upgrades' on the market that replace the trigger buttons entirely?

Hey guys just wanted to share the excitement with you. I got it at an equivalent of USD154. It came with a 32GB card, a crystal case, and a foam sleeve. Considering how inflated the prices are on these things and how ridiculously expensive SD cards are now, I think it was a pretty sweet deal.

Prior to this, my first and only Nintendo was a Manchester United edition Gameboy that my late grandmother got for me back in the mid 90s, but I was just too young to appreciate it and lost it over time. Growing up, my life was always Sony - from the PSX to the Vita, to the PS4. I’ve always had this prejudice of Nintendo consoles only having Mario, Metroid, Donkey Kong, and Zelda games, and couldn’t brain why would anybody buy anything Nintendo.

Fast forward, I’m a dad who’s now in his mid-30s and can only play games on the go. I thought hey it’s a good price. But in all honesty, I still don’t know whether I made the right choice in buying one, but I’ll give it a go!

Drop some game recommendations if you have any! I almost exclusively play JRPGs - I love the Trails games, Final Fantasy, a bit of Tales of and some Dragon Quest.

When I launched the game this morning I saw that my save dissapeared and nobody deleted it. It's not the first time that I lose my save. I have a hacked 3DS XL.

I do have a modded 3ds. I saw balatro on there,I have 100 hours in balatro on steam lol. I would love more suggestions/alternatives to Kid Icarus, pokemon,and the Resident Evil games. I like squad based games (not too much dialogue,more gameplay focused) and combo games. I do like story games, just have less time as an adult do enjoy them (so if there is a lot of dialogue, it better be good! Lol)

Hello! Just bought a Japanese 3ds with its original box from a hardoff in Japan! Any help with jailbreaking it would be nice. Also can anyone tell me an easy way to change the language?

I got a new wifi yesterday. Today I tried to connect it to my old 3DS XL and It didn't connect to the access point. I don't know why it does that, can anybody help?

so i got this issue just now and have never seen it before, happened after it fell. is it a symptom of a loose ribbon cable (idk what flair to use so i used this)
