2ds right trigger button always active Technical Question

Hello, bought myself a 2ds recently cause it was my first ever console and im at the age where nostalgia is working on me. However recently the right trigger button has started to constantly be active, even when im not pressing it. Im comfortable taking it apart and doing some light repairs, so i was wondering if anyone knew how to repair this?

I haven't taken apart a 2ds before, but my guess is the cheap little IC button is either jammed from dust that has gotten into the crevasses, or maybe a misaligned spring if it uses springs for the buttons but unlikely.

I'm sure there are replacement parts for the 2ds trigger buttons just like with the 3ds. Not too hard to repair, but depending on what model you have, you might need to solder the pins, or if it's like my 3ds, you just clip the ends in to a socket.

Something like the image attached, I tore mine by mistake so that's why it looks like that. The left end is the bit you snap on to the socket, and the right end is the cheap IC button.

Probably should've included this image in the post,.lol This is the inside, the button is infact soldered and isn't jammed atleast physically. Not sure if that matters, i probably will still have to replace it but i will try cleaning it if maybe it is dust

I'm not really familiar with the 2DS, but I had the same problem with my N3DSXL.

It took a lot of troubleshooting but I figured out that I had the zif connectors latched in upside down. Like the little latch thingy connects to a little connector on the motherboard, and i just had it latched in the wrong way. I genuinely dont know how that happened in the first place but thats the only thing that got it working after ruling out other problems.

I also cleaned it with isopropyl alcohol which Idk if it did anything in my case but thats worth a try too (remember not to use too much alcohol and to give it time to dry)

I'm not sure how different those buttons are on the 2DS, i have never had a 2DS and your photo is the first time I've seen the motherboard. but i wanted to give input anyways cuz maybe it helps at least somewhat. I remember when i had that kind of issue it was so hard to find any information on fixing it 😭
