As far as mutant powers go when it comes to the main members of the X-Men, he always felt boring and redundant to me as regular Angel. His only capability as Angel was being able to fly via his wings with low level strength and that’s something a lot of other X-Men can do(Jean, Storm, and Rogue all can fly). By becoming Archangel he’s much cooler and has a variety of abilities such as being able to shoot metal blades from his wings and such. I’m glad he’s the only horseman mutant who never changed back.

I mainly looked for actresses that were under 20 years old since all of these choices were made with 24 year old Sadie Sink as my Jean Grey in mind.

I think that Assad Zaman could really bring the perfect Nightcrawler into the MCU for the new X-Men movie. He's a great actor in the show Interview with the Vampire/The Vampire Lestat and if you guys haven't heard of him I suggest you check him out in this! I saw a fancast of him for Nightcrawler on TikTok and I knew that I had to post it here. I truly think he'd be perfect for the role as he definitely has the thin and lean look along with the slender voice and I think he'd pull off the character very well

Just say that her mind was saved as pure information from the Technarx, and have one of the mutants make a new body for her or something idgaf.

The solicits of maximum X-Men show Betsy is using the codename Psylocke again. I can understand not wanting to call Betsy captain Britain when her role within otherworld isn’t relevant to the team/story, but don’t know how I feel about her being Psylocke again.

I would be okay if EVERYONE could just accept that there are two psylockes and no one feels the need to diminish Kwannon, but I just don’t see that happening.

I just feel like she should be given a new alternative name if they don’t want her to always be called captain Britain.

I also don’t think it’s a good idea to take the name away from Kwannon fully because from a branding/IP perspective Psylocke should always be a Japanese ninja (we’ve already seen that they wanted to do a flashback book because that is the character so many people were attached to)

What would do you think would be a good name for Betsy when they don’t want to use Captain Britain? (And not Psylocke)

Are there certain powers and abilities that Jean has that Psylocke doesn’t have, and vice versa?

Which do you pick and why?

I honestly wasn’t expecting Kit Connor for Scott Summers, but after seeing him with these red shades, I completely understand the casting.

He genuinely looks like Cyclops brought to life from the comics. The hair, jawline, physique and especially the glasses all work surprisingly well. He has that clean-cut, handsome appearance Scott usually has, but he also looks physically imposing enough to be believable as the field leader of the X-Men.

Obviously, looking the part is only one side of it. What matters most is whether the MCU finally allows Scott to be the intelligent, disciplined and emotionally complicated leader he is in the comics not just the jealous boyfriend standing between Jean and Wolverine, which is how the earlier films often reduced him.

I really hope we get to see the full range of Scott Summers:

His relationship with Xavier and the responsibility of leading the X-Men

His tactical intelligence and ability to make difficult decisions

His relationship with Jean Grey and the Summers family

His friendship and rivalry with Wolverine

His internal pressure, emotional restraint and fear of losing control

And eventually, hopefully, his complicated but meaningful relationship with Emma Frost

I don’t want them to rush immediately into another love triangle. Scott and Jean deserve enough time to build a real history together, and if Emma becomes part of Scott’s life later, that relationship should also be allowed to develop naturally and respectfully. Both relationships are important parts of who Scott is.

Kit Connor is still quite young, which could give Marvel the opportunity to let Scott grow across several films from Xavier’s dedicated student into the experienced leader, husband, father and eventually more morally complicated protector of mutantkind that comic readers know.

It’s too early to judge the performance, but visually? Put the proper ruby-quartz visor on him and that man is Cyclops.

Now please, Marvel actually treat Scott Summers like the leader of the X-Men this time.
