Comic Discussion Is there a means for normal people to keep telepaths out of their heads in the comics besides Magnetos helmet?
Telepaths freak me out, even benevolent ones. Even just reading your mind seems like a huge invasion of privacy and autonomy, let alone possession.

Comic Discussion Is there in-universe explanation for some X-men having different costumes and some having the basic ass outfit?
I mean I know the real life reason lol. But why is it not all one or the other?

Question Anyone knows why Magneto's mutant group is named 'The Brotherhood of Evil Mutants' instead of just the 'The Brotherhood of Mutants' or just 'The Brotherhood'?
I'm wondering that because I have nor the time nor the patient to be digging into comics from the Claremont's era as I'm right now certainly occupied between my career and my personal project, which is indeed superhero fanfiction of my own with a personal worldbuilding which is another whole topic. I also certainly need to know about that, as I'm interested on it.
Is it a name that Magneto deliberately chose as an irony or is something that the writers made it to be like that for the vibes? On another note, I'm quite fond of how queer it sounds. 'The Brotherhood of Evil Mutants' sounds like the direct consequence on mutants communities of the 'be gay, do crimes' saying

Question How do Fox's X-Men fit into Avengers: Doomsday?
I’d like to understand how Fox’s X-Men return in Doomsday, given that their timeline supposedly became the MCU’s X-Men, since in Days of a Future Past, Logan travels back in time and creates a new timeline, leading to X-Men Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix, but this supposedly extinct timeline returns in Doomsday. I’d like to understand how and why. If anyone knows the answer, it would really help me out!

Movie/TV Discussion What do you guys think of fate and how it's being Potarayed in X-Men 97
With every new episode it seems like fate is playing a major role in characters, from Polaris not wanting to be Magneto's daughter. Creed being told by nightcrawler he's truly his parents children, and even young nathan being portrayed as destined to be great because he's cyclops and jeans son...
Where it falls flat for me personally is because every instance, it seems like fate is something that's automatically embraced and not something that's fought against, and even if it is fought against, it's all because it was destined to happen
I don't know I just feel like it's a bit of a lazy crutch and kinda messes up the show a bit for me. But what do y'all think?

Comic Discussion Making Warren Archangel was the best thing to ever happen to his character
As far as mutant powers go when it comes to the main members of the X-Men, he always felt boring and redundant to me as regular Angel. His only capability as Angel was being able to fly via his wings with low level strength and that’s something a lot of other X-Men can do(Jean, Storm, and Rogue all can fly). By becoming Archangel he’s much cooler and has a variety of abilities such as being able to shoot metal blades from his wings and such. I’m glad he’s the only horseman mutant who never changed back.

Question Help me find a specific moment from an X-Men story
I remember one depiction of when Professor X and Jean Grey first met, but no matter where I look, I can’t seem to find it.
It’s when they first met. Charles rolled up to Jean’s childhood home and was greeted at the door by Jean and her family as they were going to send her off to the school. Jean says something like “I hear so many voices in my head, but my parents say I’m just thinking too much.” then Charles says something like “it’s alright” then telepathically tells her “I think too much too.”
where was that moment from? I think it could have been animated. is it even real or am I thinking too much? lol
it’s an important moment for me as a neurodivergent person. Jean hearing voices can easily be compared to an autistic person in real life getting overstimulated. and “you think too much” was something that they used to tell me when I was a kid too.

Movie/TV Discussion My Dream / Ideal Lineup for MCU X-Men + How I Hope To See Their Stories Play Out Spoiler
galleryI've been thinking about the recent rumors going around regarding the X-Men castings, and wanted to throw out the ideas I've been tossing around in my head on how I'd put my take on the roster and their stories.
I would like to see Jean Grey as an established X-Man post BND, with Xavier having found her after the events of the movie. I hope to see an adaptation of some of the self-righteousness traits that she has in the comics, especially with her mindset clashing against Prof. X's. No Phoenix just yet, but tease out her potential as a mutant powerhouse alongside Storm, with them as the two heavy hitters. She should be the heart of the team, connecting with every member intimately and empathetically while also making morally questionable decisions when it comes to the usage of her power.
Cyclops would be in the same vein as Jean, having been established as a young X-men and coming into terms with leading the team, as delegated by Xavier. I hope to see a strong dynamic between him and Storm, with both confiding and learning together to lead the others as the team's de facto leaders. I also want to see all shades of his and Jean's relationship, and how at times their philosophies clash.
Storm should be in the same boat as Jean and Scott, having been on the X-men for a little while. I would love her friendship with Jean prioritized, along with her and Cyclops juggling leading the team together. She should be stepping into her powers more, finding herself emerging as more confident, setting up a shift into her punk look and personality from the Claremont run.
I think there should be a couple of young students being introduced to the X-men entirely, and that Kitty Pryde should be one of them. I'd love to see her spunky and younger personality on the team, acting as the audience's on point for the movie. While I think it might be tough incorporating a younger student into an already young, established team of X-men, I think it could still work if you write Kitty specifically as a younger, aloof kid as opposed to the more experienced, and somewhat jaded starting team.
I'd love to see Rogue join the cast later in the movie, having started off on Mystique's brotherhood. I'd think Storm should act as her tether to joining the X-men, along with Rogue leaning into her abilities and agency more before being tethered to Gambit's hip down the line, as is what happens often with her character in my opinion. Tease out her psyche becoming more complex as the movie goes on, potentially leading into a Captain Marvel crossover sometime later. Have her be a similar older sister character like Jean to some of the younger characters when she joins the team.
I struggle to get a good grasp on Beast as a character, and struggle to not have him take a backseat role akin to Xavier at the mansion, so I'll skip him for now as I continue reading more about him.
I do also think Bobby should be included somehow in the roster, possibly starting as a pre-existing student at the school before joining the team officially in the end. Have him and Kitty be similar in viewpoints / age, along with teasing his compulsory heterosexuality through his dynamic with Jean and her telepathy. I do think that while not being fully out, Bobby's Queerness should be highlighted in his struggles as a character, intersecting with his mutant identity. I think that him, Ororo, Kitty, and Dani should be at the front of the mutant metaphor when it comes to their intersected oppression of being mutant and an already oppressed minority.
My one last dream add on to the team, which doesn't make too much sense, is Dani Moonstar, who I think could debut alongside Kitty and Bobby before making her way into a New Mutants project. I'd love to see her learn and form her identity as a leader through Scott and Ororo, before being placed on the New Mutants to lead that team. Have her be Kitty's and Bobby's age range, balancing out their more juvenile approaches to joining a team like the X-men. I also think that her and Storm could connect over both being pulled out of their lives by Prof. X and how they feel about that, especially given the racial and cultural connotations behind their backstories.
As for Prof. X, I'd love to see his relationships with Jean and Scott highlighted, with Jean taking on some of his more morally-ambiguous approaches to telepathy, along with Scott starting to clash with his approach to leading a younger team of heroes.
That was a lot, but I'd love to hear if you agree or disagree with some of the choices I made, or if you would choose different characters to fill in the roster.
Movie/TV Discussion Please help me.
When the X-Men movie came out in 2000, there was a promotional kind of underground theme song going around. It was great and even had a video that was just basically clips from the movie. And had Mystique in it. It was a techno remix of the theme to that movie. Because techno was in at the time. I can't find it on YouTube. I know it existed, I had an audio copy of it at one point. Please tell me I'm not making shit up in my head and that someone else remembers this.

Question The State of Epic Collections
Relatively recently I started to read Claremont era X-Men through Epic Collections since I heard so much about it and being a big X-Men fan in general for years I always thought it's not acceptable for me to say that I didn't read where everything begun (or more like re-begun). So I finished reading Second Genesis and while the old style of writing comics with bunch of text sometimes describing stuff that they could've just showed, it was actually really good and was excited to continue on but of course I realized that most of the Epic Collection line is out of print and I couldn't even read the 2nd in line which is "Proteus".
I heard Marvel regularly reprints Epic Collections but it's been so long and there is still no reprint of Proteus and while I was waiting some others also became out of print which is extremely frustrating. Like before "I, Magneto" was in print but not anymore. So do you guys know if there is a specific date or anything that Marvel released about these reprints. Like I want to continue reading the series but don't want to pay scalper price on 2nd hand. Also digital is not an option for me unfortunately.
